Soon after looking at the menu and the suggestions from yelp, we ordered the butter flight, the ropa vieja tostadas, and the lasagna.

When you get inside you'll see the varieties of cheeses available which is extensive. A little further in they have a decent sized salad bar with fresh looking veggies and a few prepared salads. There is also a warm items bar in that area. The deli is large and gets quite busy during lunch time. They have a few curated sandwiches on the overhead board or you can make your own. Take a number first if they are busy and order when called. They are pretty quick as our sandwiches were ready in about 5 minutes. I had a giorgi park (vegetarian) sandwich which came as a panini with great flavors and fresh ingredients. SCW had the veggie sandwich which was also really tasty. They have a burrito and pizza line as well. I got a vegetarian super burrito bowl which you can customize. Similar process as chipotle style. Everything looked fresh vibrant. The wine selection is varied and has some appealing options. The middle portion of the store is similarly set up like most grocery stores, cans, waters, cleaning products etc. The produce section is nice with good variety as well. You can find tofu and fake meats near the produce section. The store is clean and well lit. They have tables outside if you choose to eat there. The employees are very friendly and helpful. I definitely recommend giving Big John's Market a try.

If you are looking for the absolute best in Sonoma County for high-end foodstuffs, look no further…read more Big John's Market is essentially a pilgrimage site for anyone who takes their pantry seriously. The store is beautifully laid out and curated with an eye for quality that puts most 'gourmet' chains to shame. The produce is consistently stunning, and the local wine selection perfectly reflects the best of our backyard (Dry Creek, Alexander Valley, and beyond). The standouts: * The Deli/Prepared Goods: This is the heart of the operation. The sandwiches are legendary, the pizza is artisanal-grade, and the prepared salads are actually fresh and inventive--not just an afterthought. * The Cheese Section: Simply sublime. It is clear whoever curates this section has a deep passion for local creameries and international classics alike. * The Experience: Despite the high-end inventory, the staff is incredibly friendly and grounded. Plus, in a town like Healdsburg, having a lot with decent parking is a massive luxury that makes the trip even easier. Whether you're stocking up for a dinner party or just grabbing the best lunch in town, this place is the gold standard.

Also, seems like the staff is always trying to upsell on dish upgrades. Burrata: Such a great appetizer. Tons of creamy burrata on top of a toasty baguette slice with lots of onions in between. All the right textures and flavors. Carpaccio: Kinda like beef sashimi. Super thin slices of high quality beef flavored with lemon, capers and nice slices of parmesan. Not as filling as the burrata, but still great. Vitello Parmigiana: Like chicken parm, but much fancier. Apparently the veal is from Pennsylvania. It was super tender, maybe even more so than chicken. Thin and pounded with a nice breading, loved all the cheese. Spaghetti Bolognese: Got the upgrade on the Vitello Parmigiana, where this pasta replaced a plainer pasta. Love that the spaghetti was fresh and tender. The bolognese was meaty. It was *almost* too much food, but I was hungry. Limoncello Mascarpone Cake: I asked if they had limoncello as an after dinner drink, but they did not. However, they had this cake. It was creamy and had that nice tart and alcoholic limoncello tang. Chocolate Temptation: Several layers of different chocolate things. Love the contrast of light milky chocolate and intense dark chocolate.

We made a reservation a few weeks in advance via our resort concierge and we arrived early to walk around Healdsburg. There is plenty of free street and parking lot parking in the area. We went in the restaurant about 10 minutes early and we received a really warm greeting from the restaurant hostess and they showed us to our table. From the restaurant bus staff to the servers, they were all so warm and welcoming. They came by first and brought us water and a drink list. We ordered a bottle of wine to start, they had a range of wine selections available. They also allow you to bring a bottle of wine, but there is a pretty hefty corkage fee, so for us it made more sense just to order a bottle of wine at the restaurant. The server also came by and brought us fresh bread and olive oil. We ordered the Caesar Salad to start ($16) and the salad was really good and fresh. For entrees, we ordered two pastas to share (one of the pastas on the specials menu for around $30) all including local fresh ingredients, and the Tagliatelle alla Carbonara ($23). They also came by and gave us more bread upon request, and everything was so tasty, we really enjoyed all of the food and very warm and welcoming service!

The restaurant was easy to find, and I loved the charming décor it felt like a genuine Italian restaurant with a warm and welcoming atmosphere. One of my favorite surprises was the Limoncello Spritz. She was so busy every single one of the bar seats was taken, and she did a fantastic job balancing all of it. Overall the food was an exceptional experience. For starters we got the truffle fries, and A Minestrone soup. The truffle fries were delicious, and had a bit if a kick to them so if you dont like spicy keep that in mind. The Soup was delicious and a great size for the small soup portion. I ordered the Lasagna with meat sauce and its light delicate layers were delicious, and perfectly balanced with the cheese. The server was helpful and informative and told my friend about the Mushroom cream sauce for her ravioli that if you love mushrooms you'll love it but if you don't then steer away. And we LOVE mushrooms and the ravioli paired perfectly with the heavy mushroom cream sauce. We also got the Steak and ordered it medium rare, when it came to us and it was closer to blue/rare the server/bartender didn't hesitate to apologize and in a flash take it back. The cooks remade it and it was perfectly medium rare with that nice browning on the outside and a small bit it pink in the center. We were very satisfied and it was such a lovely touch the manager did come out before the end of our meal to ensure we were satisfied and apologized for the discrepancy in the meal. The fact it was busy every single table full and the bar also being full and the manager still coming to ensure our satisfaction was what true hospitality is all about!! 100000% recommendations for this place and will be coming back!

The girls that helped us out were both friendly but we ended up asking for the Happy Hour menu 3 times before we actually got one. We decided to split the Happy Hour Pepperoni pizza bites and Bucatini Amatriciana. The pizza was a good portion, especially for the $8 price tag but the portion size on the pasta was a little small. The pizza and past were both very good but the pork on the pasta was mostly just big chunks of fat. I thought they were pieces of artichoke hearts at first. The best thing about our experience was Jesus. I believe he is the bar manager here. He happened to be standing off to the side of the bar when he heard me ask the bartender a question about the Carajillo Old Fashioned. I like coffee drinks, even though I don't drink coffee, but I find the Carajillo a bit one note. He explained about the layer of flavors in the drink and it convinced me to give it a try. It was indeed good. Then I noticed a bottle of Suze amaro at the end of the bar and I mentioned how I had heard about this Amaro and always wanted to try it. I asked Jesus to come up with a drink using Suze and he ended up making a kind of Suze French 75 that was very interesting. Overall great experience but Jesus was what made it really special.

The hostess said we could pick our table and she would follow us with menus, which she did. Water and glasses were delivered, I think by the hostess immediately. Then we waited.... For at least 10 minutes. Then another two people were seated next to us. They were given water and menus and we all waited for a server to come by to ask for our drink order at least and maybe appetizers. After another 10 minutes I got up to ask the nearest employee if there was a waiter assigned to our table. That person happened to be one of the bartenders who was standing near the host table. He said he would take our order. He did not seem happy he would need to do that as it was not his area, but he did. The waiter is the only reason this review gets two stars instead of one star. I would give zero if I could, but the waiter did his best and ended up taking over that whole inside section of the restaurant. By the end of the meal he mentioned a worker had called in sick, which I think must be why nobody had our section? I have to say that the entire meal we watched a few other employees just standing around doing nothing, maybe shuffling silverware around or wiping counters down. Half the time they were just talking between themselves as we look around trying to make eye contact to get a workers attention that we need something. This was especially obvious to us during the twenty minutes we waited for somebody to come take our drink order. These employees were no more than 15 feet from us. So after the waiter took our drink order, he took the drink order for the two people who were seated next to us that had arrived 10 minutes after us. They received their drinks first. Ours' came shortly after. They were just fair. I usually order two drinks, but my margarita was just not even good enough for me to finish so I only ordered one. We ordered a Caesar salad which was fine. And a lasagna. My wife and I were sharing. The lasagna was luke warm with a cold spot in the middle. So it clearly wasn't freshly baked, rather it had been heated up in a microwave, just not enough. It tasted fine, but was nothing to write home about. The restaurant seems very poorly managed with mostly untrained staff. The restaurant won't last long if this is normal. We won't be back. My suggestion would be hire a new manger, completely revamp and retrain all staff with a focus on consistent customer service and food quality. General rules of thumb for great restaurants- 1. Waiter stops by to greet the customer and take a drink order about a minute after being seated and drinks come out within 5 minutes. This was not done. 2. Waiter stops by every 5-7 minimum to check if you need anything like drinks or more food. 3. At Italian restaurant, as food is served ask the customer if they would like fresh ground pepper, grated Parmesan or Romano cheese, or maybe red pepper flakes. 4. After food is placed, the waiter checks in after 2 minutes to ask how everything tastes. If there are complaints the waiter should be eager to address them. After the shift, whatever the problem is should be addressed with the kitchen staff and manager and a plan for how to improve so that this doesn't happen again should be put in place. Do these things and a restaurant is well on its way to being full and profitable.

Cold, processed deli meats with the standard condiments is just not appealing to me. As we were driving through Healdsburg for lunch, my friend's Tesla suggested "Summer's Market & Deli" for a quick bite. The suggested reviews offered "BEST sandwiches" - though I had bias reservations (again, I don't like sandwiches). The shop is located in a neighborhood one mile off the beaten path. There are a couple of wooden picnic tables outside. Upon entering, the store is sparse, with a small ordering counter on the right side, drink fridge in the back and a few local items for purchase on the left side. The menu offered a variety of hot and cold sandwiches. I ordered the "Grilled Chicken Pesto sandwich", off the FAVORITES sandwiches menu. It includes a hearty combo of grilled chicken breast, red bell peppers, caramelized onions, provolone cheese, lettuce and tomato on a focaccia roll. WOW - the combination of high-quality ingredients made this one of the BEST sandwiches I have ever had!! Well done Summer! First off, they were so welcoming when we checked in. And I love that it's so pet friendly. Hostess that checked us in was a doll. The inside decor and the layout was so cute. One side is the hostess counter and right across from there is a waiting lounge area which I believe is also utilized for dining. Walking through, they have indoor seating to one side and the bar area to the opposite. Also dining available along the hi top bar counter. We had a big group which they had us set up on the patio. Another beautiful layout. It's like dining in a community garden slash secret garden. Our waitress who took care of us was amazing. So sweet and very friendly. Not just her but the entire staff there. Menu wise looked amazing. Also it was also a recommendation from one of the staff at a winery we were just at. Drink menu was quite huge too. Of course food was on our mind and it did not disappoint. Big group meant a lot of share plates to start off. A double of things ordered to start off. Daily crudo which was served with wonton chips. Fresh fish with all spices and marinaded. It was fresh and delicious. You gotta have oysters if it's available. Curry deviled eggs was quite tasty as well. Your classic eggs with a little twist. Mushroom egg rolls were a hit. It literally came piping hot so it was a little wait till we enjoy it and it was delicious. Came with two dipping sauce which paired very well. Salsa macha fries, similar concept as the elote corn with the coltija cheese, lime creme and cilantro. Brisket can also be added which we opted out for. Then there was the grilled Vietnamese steak with the not so sticky rice in a cube form. Cooked perfectly and the crunchiness of the rice was perfect. Also the dipping sauce was great. Beef brisket tacos were another hit. Two orders and loaded with meat and all the topping. Very flavorful and delicious. Cant come here and not have their almost famous chicken tenders. Big chunks of chicken battered and fried to a nice golden color. It was so juicy and served with pickle chips and dipping. You can have it hot or now with the sauce. Crispy duck confit was delicious. Nice potion of duck with bitter greens and duck fat potatoes. Brazen burger, which was pretty massive. Classic burger but better and with bacon and fries. Then you have the kimchi noodles, added chicken and shrimp or without. That dish was tasty. You either love kimchi or not and the way it was prepared with pasta, delicious. And lastly, the special was a hot ham sandwich I believe. Served with potatoes salad and gherkins. It was a hefty sandwich with loads of meat and cheese. Simply but so good. Food was excellent as we literally had loads from the menu. Of course loads of recommendations which I know why. The food was exceptional and service was great. Restaurant is beautiful and service was excellent. Also they're so pet friendly. Plus, we ordered a dog patty for the pup and it was quite tasty...lol.... Can't wait to come back, hopefully soon. Not sure if menu if set or it changes seasonally. Regardless, whoever is in charge of menu, chefs kiss.
