I adore this place. Last weekend we decided to stay the night in the area so I made reservations here and it did not disappoint! Making reservations was so easy and the woman I spoke with was very accommodating! When we arrived they sat us right away and were prompt on getting our drinks! Our server was hilarious and really on top of it. We ordered the little neck clams in butter and beer broth and wow they are incredible! We also got the little gem salad and the sourdough (this is a must) and we got the daily ceviche which was halibut with peppers. My partner got the hanger steak and it was cooked to perfection. She only gave up one bite to me but boy was it good! In the past we have also had the kale Caesar, the clam strips, yellow tail ceviche, and fresh oysters. I have not had a bite of food there that I did not enjoy. The place is shaped a little weird and some seats are more desirable than others. We love the booth (you pretty much have to make reservations to get one) but it is worth mentioning that we are both pretty average size people (maybe a bit more than average if I'm being honest) but anyone who is on the bigger side probably wouldn't fit in the booth. It's a really tight squeeze getting into them because they have these little wall things that come out a tad too far. It is great people watching from there though! They also have beautiful outdoor seating! Overall this is 5 stars for me. If you love seafood and good service you have to check this place out! read more

We came here with a group last week. The service was the real problem, with long waits for the dishes -- and inexplicably, a huge wait for bread. The wait was such that one member of the party got food 15 mins after anyone else. The food itself was quite flavorful and good. The octopus tacos were really top notch as were the other tacos we had. The other dishes were good but not as memorable. Perhaps if they fixed the service issues, this place would be great. read more

We made an early reservation for Valentine's Day. The restaurant has two bar areas, an indoor dining area and an outdoor patio which was super cute. We were seated in the upper level at a table with a Birdseye view. Started with an espresso martini ( so good he ordered another) and a dirty martini which was perfectly dirty. We had bbq'd oysters and buffalo fried oysters. The buffalo ones have a kick so be prepared. The bread with garlic herbed butter was also mouthwatering. Served hot and the perfect amount of crisp edges and soft insides. Then the star of the show was the dungeons crab salad on this buttery toasted roll. We had to contain ourselves not to get another. What went well this day? Everything. Lucky me enjoyed a patio table and a lovely server. Friendly and professional. The patio was just right for enjoying one of our warm spring days. Checked out the menu and a new appetizer addition jumped out at me. Lobster. Take half of it, remove from shell. Cut it into bite sized chunks. We love Willi's and try to go every time we are in town, and every time we go we remember why we love it so much. The cocktails are always great and the food is always exceptional. We tried the warm bread with garlic butter this time and it was melt in your mouth amazing. We loved it so much we took the butter to go! All the other food we got was equally delicious--the crispy chicken and spicy shrimp were my favorites and our friends raved about the ribs. Our server was really friendly and took great care of us (even giving us extra butter to take with us), and he laughed right along with us. Usually we sit outside but it was too cold so we enjoyed a cozy booth inside which was very private and made for a different experience than we've had before. I'm not sure why this restaurant gets good reviews. First, the positive, it has a nice outdoor dining area on Healdsburg Avenue. Avoid eating inside--looks like decor was last updated in 1975. Limited menu--no real "seafood" entries. I ordered the mahi mahi tacos, thinking it was an entree acoompanied by something. Two very small tacos were delivered--before anything else, including wine. $20. Service was poor. Frankly I think they just take for granted that tourists will show up and don't try very hard. This was my first time ever dining at this particular establishment and goodness was I ever impressed! Everything was fresh crisp, and had a delicious flavor! Their sauces and the freshness of the seafood was over the top! I'm surprised Hillsboro isn't right next to the ocean!! I loved sitting outside in their little courtyard, dining area, and they had a good size bar, as well as an indoor wraparound dining area with booths in the back Our server was incredibly helpful and kind, and the food came out rather quickly!! Each dish was one taste bite after the next, and we enjoyed the mahi-mahi appetizer as well as crabcakes and those amazing little oysters were the best I've ever had!! Maybe because they were smaller they didn't have as much grime or sand, but they had a delicious fresh flavor to them!! Any stop I make in Healdsburg I make sure I have at least one meal at Willi's. The bread and butter dish along with their bacon wrapped scallops are 2 must order dishes every time I stop by. The scallops only come with 3 standard but you can opt to add a 4th. I highly recommend adding a 4th. I have had their ceviche and tartar in the past and was also super impressed. I didn't order either on my most recent visit so I won't go into much detail. The espresso martini I had on my most recent visit was very well balanced and didn't give you too much of a jittery feeling afterwards. By far the worst service ever, we go there for special occasions like my sons birthday and to start off they were our of French Bread at 6:40 pm ! Then it takes the 35 minute to bring out a menu item, my son says just cancel the order and let's go :/( pretty bummed that he's special dinner was ruined. And yes I spoke up ( not in a mean way) and got a 30$ discount out of a 200$ dinner check. That to me is not acceptable. Management can definitely do better. read more

My first visit to Wiili's with my wife and good friends and we sat outside on a warm weekend evening. The staff accommodated our early arrival to our reservation and we never felt rushed the entire evening. The bbq oysters we started with were very flavorful and warm, served on a bed of rock salt. Willi's is definitely a fish lovers paradise, but there is also something for everyone on the menu. There wasn't anything we did not like but our favorite dish was the BBQ'd Bacon Wrapped Scallops. It hit all the right sweet and savory notes with the Tamarind BBQ, Cilantro Pumpkinseed Pesto. It was just an outstanding dish. The Crispy Crab Tacos were also excellent. Great texture & flavor contrasts with the crisp shell, the savory crab, the sweet apple mint coleslaw & pickled onions. The Crispy Pork Belly Tacos were tasty but very greasy! The Pan Roasted Shrimp with chilis, lemon & garlic was good but did not knock our socks off! The Little Gem Salad was a great side salad to help round off the meal with some greens. One thing we were puzzled about & which kind of took away from our evening was where we were seated. We had made a reservation on Open Table & we were taken to a seating area on the upper level of the restaurant that had a few booths that looked like they were Covid era seating arrangement. The booths just had plywood paneled all the way up on both sides of the booth. It was unattractive & it also made you feel quite claustrophobic & detached from the whole vibe of the restaurant. We were puzzled as to why these closed booths were still there. They were out of place & a big contrast to the big open seating plan of the rest of restaurant. Went on a Monday afternoon around 3:30pm wasn't too crowded. The food and drinks were great. My favorites were the pineapple drop cocktail and the seared Ahi tuna. I like that the location of the restaurant is right off the square in Healdsburg so you're able to walk around after and shop. We did ask for bottled water three separate times and never received it but the overall service was great. I also like that this restaurant is dog friendly in the patio area and it's a good mix of casual and upscale, you can come here for really any occasion. The full booths inside the restaurant made the lunch feel more private. The service was great, never had to ask for water refills and our server check on us constantly. Our favorite dishes were the daily crudo, steamed mussels and the fried oysters. The orozco was delicious but a little rich but the heirloom tomatoes acidity were a perfect combination to cut through the richness.
