What a delight to find this place on a rainy afternoon. The restaurant is in a comfortable old house, and the welcoming staff seated me at a high-top next to a warm fire. I started with the creamy chicken croquetas, what a pity there were only three. I could have eaten a dozen. I also had the crispy asparagus and jamon "cigarillos" with manchego and a harissa aioli. Pure bliss. The roasted beets with walnuts and idazabal cheese were delicious and very generous, a reminder that one shouldn't go to a tapas restaurant alone! We've passed by this spot a few times after we already eaten but the menu looked great. Stopping by for dinner on the way home from the Skunk Train during the holidays, we finally got a chance to dine-in. Even though it was winter, the heat lamps in the back allowed us to dine under the festive lights outside comfortably even if we did keep our hats on. A big fan of tapas since we get to try different dishes, we went all out with Bacon Wrapped Dates with Blue Cheese, Creamy Chicken Croquetas filled with Ham, Gruyère Cheese, my favorite of the night, Crispy Bacalao Cigarillos served with Marinated Olives, Lemon Zest & Romesco Allioli, and Octopus, Fingerlings, Smoked Paprika & Olives. We normally don't get a chance to order paella since it often comes with shellfish but since theirs is made to order for 2 or 4 people, we were able to get one made without shellfish. It surprisingly had a bit of heat to it, but I definitely would love to come back to try more tapas. read more

We sat at the outdoor patio, which they had warned us was a little windy but they had space heaters. The indoor dining area looked cute as well. They have a good selection of hot and cold tapas. I liked the cauliflower one we got, along with the beet salad. I would say that the tapas are on the larger size. We also ordered the fried chicken meal which was delicious but too much food for two people! It comes with a delicious kale salad as well. I also ordered the cava sangria, which was good but super strong! I did feel like the service was fine but they weren't as super friendly as other places in Healdsburg. On a Sunday night there aren't a lot of affordable options for dinner that are open past 8:00. Besides still serving after 8:00, the prices here are reasonable, the portion sizes larger than expected for tapas, and the back patio is pleasant, and surprisingly warm from the many propane heaters. The food though was disappointing. The most interesting item was the clams that came in a cava broth with garlic and parsley. They brought some toasted hearty bread to soak up the sauce. The baby kale salad was also nice with shaved fennel and manchego. The other three dishes were both off and a bit weird. The cauliflower came with bacon, which was good, and sweet dates; the dates were an odd addition and they stuck to your teeth. The calamari, was prepared well - it wasn't chewy - but it just had an off flavor, or at least one I haven't experienced before. Same too for the octopus. This was a much larger portion than typical - two tentacles, plus potatoes and olives. The octopus though was rather mealy. Small Spanish red wine list; only four. Tried two and neither were our favorites. The 1970s-80s classic rock soundtrack was an odd choice for background music. read more

The escarole salad was light, but I felt the cheese was a bit overpowering. The bacon wrap dates served as both as a meal and dessert. Was in the area and decided to stop by for dinner. We didn't have reservations but we saw there were plenty of tables available. However, the host was offering us seats at their outside but never mentioned that it was all the way in the back at their outside bar area. It was cold and raining at the time and we preferred to wait for seats inside. But the host seemed annoyed at us and was told that it would take 45 mins for a table. Mind you there were at least 3 tables available. I understand there may have been reservations for those tables but I felt like we were inconveniencing her because we wanted to sit indoors. Despite that, we were eventually seated at the indoor bar which we didn't mind at all. But that altercation just gave a weird vibe and it kind of sucked too because we were celebrating our anniversary. Anyway for the food, we ordered the following: Goat Cheese Toast, Duncan's Mushrooms, Octopus, Catalan Style Sautéed Spinach and Paella for 2. Everything tasted really good except for the spinach. I can do without next time. Also, keep in mind that the Paella takes a while to make so be sure to order that first. Overall, the food was good and there are plenty of options to choose from. Delicious tapas with a lovely team of people working there! We started with the Tortilla Espanola -- which is a Potato, Onion, and Manchego Omelette with Romesco Allioli. So when you see "tortilla" don't think tortilla in the traditional sense! It was nothing like I'd ever tasted and I really enjoyed it. We also had the goat cheese toast with white truffle honey -- loved the toast it came on. DELISH. We ordered some fried eggplant chips -- the server kindly alerted us that all the food is fried in the same fryer, and I'm not quite allergic but really dislike seafood, and I could definitely taste seafood in the chips. So that's the only dish I didn't care for, but if you like seafood you probably won't even notice this! Finally, we had the Iberico pork skewers with roasted pineapple. Such a cute spot for a date night or gathering! We spent a long weekend in Healdsburg, did a wine tasting, and came here for an early dinner. There's easy parking all around the shopping district. We were easily seated early before our reservation on the back patio with a view of the Paella chef. The patio is nicely decorated, with string lights and heaters, and very comfortable. We definitely ordered a little too much off the menu but everything was truly delicious! Some highlights were: - the crispy pig ears (a little hard for my bf but I liked the crunch and flavor) - the eggplant chips (and I dont even like eggplant!) - the sardines (super fresh) The Paella was good but lacking a bit of that crispy bottom we loved, but overall everything else was so great that was easy to overlook. I've been to Bravas a few times, and I recently came back because the weather was nice and I haven't had tapas in awhile. They have a cute back patio area strung with lights and heaters for the evening. I had the cava sangria, and it's good if you like your sangria on the drier side and slightly sweet. Be ready to eat when you come! We ordered the following: - goat cheese toast: sweet and had the perfect bite! Very creamy and carmelized onion with honey was delicious - Bacon wrapped dates: a bit too sweet for me, and I thought goat cheese would have tasted better than with blue cheese - potata bravas: crispy and tasty with a yummy tomato sauce and aioli - tortilla espanola: a Spanish staple, with thin layers of egg and potatoes. My husband and I celebrated our anniversary at Bravas, and it couldn't have been more perfect! Situated on a quiet side street just off the Healdsburg's Main square, the restaurant is in a charming vintage home, which allows for an intimate and cozy dining setting. The back patio is beautifully landscaped with twinkling string lights overhead. We started with a generous glass of both the White and Red Sangria. They were surprisingly strong & so I'm not sure what alcohol they used, as we have had our fair share of Sangria, but my husband and I noticed it after a few sips. It was delicious nonetheless! We started with the Baby Kale Salad, which was refreshing and light. The shaved fennel was mild, and the baby kale almost tasted like baby spinach. The Patatas Bravas were perfectly crispy with just the right about of red "brava" sauce and a cooling garlic aioli. We always order the Croquettes at a Spanish tapas restaurant and these didn't disappoint. They were golden brown on the outside and creamy and cheesy on the inside. The Dungeness Crab Stuffed Piquillo Peppers was also excellent & a great flavor combination, and the Brentwood Creamed Corn was probably my favorite dish. A special shoutout to our server who was very friendly and attentive throughout our meal! To end our amazing meal, we indulged in the "Tapas 24" Chocolate Mousse. It was exactly what you'd expect a decadent chocolate mousse to be - rich and delicious. The tangerine oil drizzled on top was a bit strong, but it complemented the chocolate flavor perfectly. Bravas is a great spot for a relaxing, shared meal with a group. The tapas menu is extensive and food is served in a flow (as it's ready), so we like to go with friends and order a bunch of different items. Six of us recently enjoyed dinner on the back patio on a warm Sunday night. The inside space is nice in winter but the outside space is where it's at. It's a chill patio setting with lots of umbrellas, and a cute little bar area. They were BUSY on Sunday but the food and drinks kept flowing, and the servers were attentive in refilling the water bottles on the table. What we ordered: -LARGE kale salad - it's simple and delicious and one of my favorite menu items; great to balance out the other indulgences -roasted beets -watermelon avocado salad - a summer special - super fresh and flavorful -tortilla espanola - delicious with very thin layers of potato and egg, but I'll ask for sauce on the side next time -scallops -bocadillos - like a grilled cheese with prosciutto, cheese, and truffle paste!!! -long bone (fka tomahawk) - I didn't partake but those that did LOVED it. Comes with another kale salad (yes, please) and garlic bread (we subbed pan con tomate!) I ordered a local Flowers rosé - the wine pours at Bravas seem smaller than the wine pours elsewhere in town (but maybe that's for the better!). The wine is served in the same drinking glasses as the water. Others in our crew had the red and white sangrias, and margaritas. Our most consistent and consistently visited restaurant in Healdsburg. The crispy pig ears are top tier. We've been here many times and it never disappoints. It's easy to make a reservation online with a little planning, and if you don't see resos available, you can call ahead and see if they have walk in room (bar and high tops are first come first serve). We went in a group of four this past Friday and really enjoyed everything we ate - so flavorful and well prepared: simple salad, patatas bravas, seafood paella, Spanish white anchovies (a consistent fave), roasted beets and the all time GOAT: crispy pig ears with anchovy sauce. Good Spanish wines available but if you need a break from wine while in town, their cocktail menu is also great. The seasonal grapefruit cocktail we tried was very refreshing. read more

We definitely lucked out as the restaurant got busier as the evening went on. Kim was our waitress and she had such an amazing personality! Along with the food, she definitely made our night memorable. We ordered a bunch of food (probably a bit too much), but we were able to sample a lot of things. Let me start off by saying that dinner was a WOW from us and we are major foodies. My first time here during our Healdsburg food tour and I really liked the atmosphere, the vibe and the staff. Then I decided to do my birthday here. My friends went above and beyond celebrating me by getting me a crown and sash haha! Our server was suuuuper nice! Her name is Kimberly! She we we t such great heights tending our needs (my friend has celiac) and customization. To summarize: We ordered a bunch of stuff to share: torta espanola, crab, calamari, brussel sprouts, croquettes, beets, and the crispy chicken which came late and the restaurant was kind enough to put in the house! Then we had a cake and our very nice server brought it to the kitchen to be cut without any fee. She said "we don't do that here" which I thought was amazing! One of our favorite spots in Sonoma County! You really can't go wrong with anything on the menu. Ecery dish we've tried has been consistently delicious. The paella is our go-to every time we visit, and we always round out the meal with a few smaller plates. Two favorites I can't get enough of: the crispy pig ears and the beet salad. 5 stars for the paella!! I have always craved good authentic paella and have not been lucky until visiting Bravas Bar de Tapas. My first suggestion is to sit outside, I feel like the outside patio vibes are much better than indoor. Second is to make reservations! I see a lot of people try to walk-in but have to wait or sit at the bar. I visited this place 2x in a span of 2 weeks because the paella was that good. The two times I went they were doing the special paella outside where the chef cooks a huge amount and dishes it out to everyone who orders. They said they only do this on the weekends, so I definitely recommend going on a weekend because the smell is delicious. For drinks, I just got the red sangria, it was good and strong! For the tapas, I ordered a variety within the two times gone. The top choices I would recommend are the: Fried Eggplant Chips, Chicken Croquettes & Crispy Bacalao Cigarillos (fish sticks). The fried eggplant chips were so much yummier than would I was expecting. The honey and rosemary complimented the dish so well. For both times we ordered the paella from the big dish. They really pack on the seafood and it was never ending! The flavor was authentic, the only downside from getting from the big dish is no crispy rice at the bottom. But the positive is that if you go when it's ready you don't need to wait 30-40 minutes as stated on the menu. The only slight negative experience was the service. Although service was mainly friendly we had to ask for water refills many times and they didn't remove old plates while delivering new dishes so the table got overcrowded and we ended up having to stack alot of the dishes on our own. Overall, the food was delicious that I would definitely come back when I'm in the area to try more from the menu. read more

Decided to randomly pick a place to try, and decided to visit Bravas and I'm so glad I did! Service was fast and everyone was very nice! It's in what used to be a house, so it's tiny but cute! All the food was excellent!!! Catalan Style Sauteed Spinach -10/5 stars - seasoned perfectly with little hints of sweetness from the raisins, could do with more garlic but that's only because I love garlic, it has a great light flavor Monterey Calamari - 5/5 - I have never had squid so soft! Usually it's tough and chewy but not here! It's easy to cut and eat. The salsa is a little spicy, and you can definitely enjoy the squid without if you're not into spicy. Patatas Bravas - 8/10 - The crunchiest potatoes I've ever had! If you like texture, these are it. The spicy tomato sauce was not spicy at all and honestly was surprisingly bland. Our waiter was knowledgeable about the menu, gave genuine recommendations, and was very hospitable. Tapas can get pretty expensive, so although prices seemed high, the food quality and positive service experience balanced that out for me. Ingredients tasted fresh, meat and seafood were perfectly cooked. We were a fan of the olives (give us more pickled green next time!). I was excited to see pig ears on the menu. The sauces were excellent. We especially loved the salsa verde that came with the calamari, and the olive tapenade with the chicken dish. Brava's Bar de Tapas is such a gem just off the Healdsburg Square. The restaurant is set inside a charming vintage home, and it immediately gives off a cozy yet stylish vibe. It's a great setting whether you want a casual bite or a longer, relaxed meal. I came here for lunch with friends, and we decided to order a variety of dishes to share. The waiter was fantastic, he explained which menu items typically come in pairs and had the kitchen adjust portions so we could easily split everything three ways. That little detail made it so much easier to share and enjoy. The food came out quickly, but not all at once, which made the experience even better. We'd enjoy one or two plates, chat for a bit, and then another dish would arrive. It created a nice flow to the meal, kept the table from being overcrowded, and made it feel like a true tapas experience. Every dish we tried was flavorful, fresh, and thoughtfully prepared, absolutely delicious. While many tables were enjoying wine (and it looked like a great selection), we stuck with food this time since it was a working lunch. Prices were very reasonable, especially considering the location, quality, and service. Between the charming setting, outstanding service, and phenomenal food, Brava's is a must-visit in Healdsburg. Super cute entrance with "Jamon In" sign LOL. Very cool ambiance inside but the jewel of this place is definitely the outdoor patio out back. They have a great elevated patio level that is fully covered, a custom bar that is covered with good amount of seating, and lastly the main patio with umbrellas a plenty to keep sufficient coverage to maintain a comfortable dining experience. Lots of great drinks, but definitely love the Sangria! The tapas are all incredible. Definitely recommend 3-4 tapas per person, shared family style. Pulpo, jamon serrano, bravas, croquetas, canned tuna in oil flown in from Spain, etc... many, many tapas that are all incredible!! Definitely if you have the time, give the paella a go, but make sure you order up front since takes 30-45 min to prepare. Grab all of your friends and family and head to Bravas!! read more

We got there a few minutes early and there was already line of people with for them to open which I took as a good sign. It's a smaller restaurant so reservations are highly recommended. They do have patio seating a covered outside full bar. We chose to sit at the inside bar area. From our point of view it looked like the area we were seated at was the prep area for the cold appetizers which the employees prepped and played with no gloves which I felt was a little off putting but not too much as we only ordered hot food. Our server was friendly, attentive and efficient. He made great recommendations which we really enjoyed. The menu is decently sized and a majority of it is tapas style.
