    Oatmeal
    Austin W.

I can't remember the last time I was served by a waitress as friendly as the woman who served us at Pepper's Healdsburg this past Monday when I stopped by for breakfast. On the rainy day that my wife and I visited Pepper's, it looked like there was only one other person seated at the bar dining at the restaurant. When we walked in, we were quickly greeted and offered a booth close to the front of the restaurant. Not long after being seated, our waitress stopped by to take our drink order, and our coffees took no more than a minute to be brought over. Throughout our meal, our waitress checked on us multiple times to make sure our coffee was never empty. I ordered the oatmeal off the sides menu, and my wife got the chicken fried steak. If you're a fan of chicken fried steak, you will absolutely love the one here. The steak is fried as crispy as a chicken tender, the sausage gravy smothered on top is rich and hearty, and the toasted buttered biscuit served on the side is perfect for sopping up any gravy left on your plate. The over easy eggs we ordered could not have been cooked better. Additionally, the included hash browns were cooked perfectly: the entire surface of the hash browns was cooked to a crispy gold brown with not a single burnt, or uneven bit. I can't recommend Pepper's enough if you happen to be in this part of Healdsburg.

Half of the Redwood Club, and onion rings.

An interesting spot...it serves kind of classic diner food, but has the ambience of a fine diner. We came on a Saturday afternoon. I had the Redwood Club, a chicken sandwich with bacon and cheese on parmesan sourdough. I had it without the tomato and avocado. It was a high quality sandwich, with perfectly cooked meat, bacon that was neither too greasy or too crispy, and a couple layers of melty cheese. I do think it could use a sauce of some kind. I had onion rings instead of fries (a $2.50 substitution); they were very good and came in more than adequate quantity. Music on the speakers could be described as hotel lobby piano music--calming, though not that interesting. Our server did a fine job. It was pricey, though. Even despite the aforementioned qualities, the meal (which also included a lemonade) should not have cost $28. Granted, it's Healdsburg, but despite that fact it was still around $5 more than warranted. All that being said, I'd give the restaurant 4.5 stars if the option was available, and I would come back.

Avocado toast - poached eggs, fruit salad

Excellent service from Sabrina who was friendly and helpful. Avocado toast was good although toast slightly underdone and eggs slightly overdone but made up for by pesto, tomato, and arugula on toast plus good mixed fruit. Basic coffee is good.

BLTA with a side of fries.

After closing the deal for our "new to us" SUV, we stopped in to Pepper's for a quick lunch. Luckily, it wasn't too busy so we were seated quickly, and placed our order. We selected the BLTA (avocado) with a side of fries and a Lagunitas. Good portions, tasty and hit the spot.

Being from the east coast I love a good diner! I miss them in other areas of the country. This place is exactly what I missed. Big, hearty, fresh breakfast in a friendly atmosphere. Our server Ashley was fun, friendly and attentive! She was super sweet and took great care of us!! Get the chicken fried steak...not greasy and perfect with their sausage gravy.

First off, they were so welcoming when we checked in. And I love that it's so pet friendly. Hostess that checked us in was a doll. The inside decor and the layout was so cute. One side is the hostess counter and right across from there is a waiting lounge area which I believe is also utilized for dining. Walking through, they have indoor seating to one side and the bar area to the opposite. Also dining available along the hi top bar counter. We had a big group which they had us set up on the patio. Another beautiful layout. It's like dining in a community garden slash secret garden. Our waitress who took care of us was amazing. So sweet and very friendly. Not just her but the entire staff there. Menu wise looked amazing. Also it was also a recommendation from one of the staff at a winery we were just at. Drink menu was quite huge too. Of course food was on our mind and it did not disappoint. Big group meant a lot of share plates to start off. A double of things ordered to start off. Daily crudo which was served with wonton chips. Fresh fish with all spices and marinaded. It was fresh and delicious. You gotta have oysters if it's available. Curry deviled eggs was quite tasty as well. Your classic eggs with a little twist. Mushroom egg rolls were a hit. It literally came piping hot so it was a little wait till we enjoy it and it was delicious. Came with two dipping sauce which paired very well. Salsa macha fries, similar concept as the elote corn with the coltija cheese, lime creme and cilantro. Brisket can also be added which we opted out for. Then there was the grilled Vietnamese steak with the not so sticky rice in a cube form. Cooked perfectly and the crunchiness of the rice was perfect. Also the dipping sauce was great. Beef brisket tacos were another hit. Two orders and loaded with meat and all the topping. Very flavorful and delicious. Cant come here and not have their almost famous chicken tenders. Big chunks of chicken battered and fried to a nice golden color. It was so juicy and served with pickle chips and dipping. You can have it hot or now with the sauce. Crispy duck confit was delicious. Nice potion of duck with bitter greens and duck fat potatoes. Brazen burger, which was pretty massive. Classic burger but better and with bacon and fries. Then you have the kimchi noodles, added chicken and shrimp or without. That dish was tasty. You either love kimchi or not and the way it was prepared with pasta, delicious. And lastly, the special was a hot ham sandwich I believe. Served with potatoes salad and gherkins. It was a hefty sandwich with loads of meat and cheese. Simply but so good. Food was excellent as we literally had loads from the menu. Of course loads of recommendations which I know why. The food was exceptional and service was great. Restaurant is beautiful and service was excellent. Also they're so pet friendly. Plus, we ordered a dog patty for the pup and it was quite tasty...lol.... Can't wait to come back, hopefully soon. Not sure if menu if set or it changes seasonally. Regardless, whoever is in charge of menu, chefs kiss.

THE PATIO: Nicely shaded with mesh sail cloth, so no risk of sunburn and you won't need your sunglasses. Spacious seating. THE DRINKS: probably why "Bar" comes before "Kitchen" in the name - Gintonica - made with the bar's "featured gin" of the week (or maybe month, or until it's gone). Refreshing -- like it's supposed to be - Love Bizarre - The name certainly is. This mezcal-based cocktail with cucumber, mint, shiso and adornments is great for a summer eve. - Misspent Youth - another gin-based cocktail, but with a sweeter tilt offered up by the addition of galiano, pineapple, and coconut - think Hawaii sans rum. THE FOOD: a little hit or miss for us; maybe explore more of the menu next time - Griddled Crab Cakes* - were mushy and almost tartar-like, and the ham hock flavor overpowered the crab. Won't re-order - Mezze Plate - Best plate of the bunch; flavorful and spicy. Would do this one again - Beef Brisket Tacos* - Too salty and the brisket was tough and stringy. Fuggedaboutit. * like most of the offerings, plates were served up as two per order THE SERVICE: Great start, luke-warm finish Polite and friendly greeting at the door and seating by the hostess. 5 Stars. The server seemed like more of a canned act. Polite, but not too much in the welcoming category. Seemed a bit in a hurry. We've had worse experiences, but I was hoping for something more than functional. 2 1/2 stars for that. Better luck next time.

Cutest little Pink Food truck with a hand written menu and a choice of varied options from grilled cheese with mushrooms to Kimchi fries, even Bacon Caramel corn. Individual taking our order was very kind and efficient. I had just enough time to go grab a spot on the grass for our movie and come back to pick up. First of all, burger was cooked to perfection for my foodie son. He enjoys a little pink and a moist burger. I don't know what sauce was on it but it was savory and rich. The bacon was super flavorful, my son allowed me to have one bite before he scarfed it down. Second was our share item, the Kimchi fries, my son is not a fan of kimchi but I really wanted to try them. I ran ofd and came back to an almost empty bowl, yes, they were that good! He ate all of the fries! I can't even tell you what flavors it had because I had not one bite. Lastly was a Caesar salad and for me I just wanted a lighter option. Portion was a good size, not overly dressed, lettuce was crisp, cheese had that nice tart bite and the dressing was probably one of the nicer lighter dressings I have had on a Caesar salad. Perfect for a summer day on the grass. Lastly the Bacon caramel corn, was okay, We are huge fans of sweet popcorn but with the Bacon addition it was worth trying for the savory/sweet aspect. It was good, I could see the bacon but I think it needed more bacon, for the bacon to make a bigger showing considering it was a Caramel *bacon* popcorn. All in all it was a great meal, fresh, savory, good selection and I enjoy the sourced meats and ingredients. The pink decoration on truck just reminded me of a Pig in the cutest way.

Ingredients were only semi fresh, and I've had burgers worlds better for half the price. Haven't tried other things on the menu but I would imagine the quality is not worth the 20+$ per menu item. I love a good local food truck but this one is definitely a let down. Hopefully they can lower prices or increase quality!
