Solid, wee diner in Windsor. Nothing complicated or fancy, just a chill place for simple food and just the loveliest service. I had scrambled eggs and cheese with breakfast sausage and toast. It is a cozy little restaurant with the classic diner vibe. It's lunch time, so we had lunch food rather than breakfast. We had a Cheeseburger, a Skillets Melt, and a Buttermilk Pancake. Everything was delicious and portions were generous. Even the sides such as Potato Salad and Fruits tasted great. The fruits were very fresh. Service was excellent: friendly and attentive. If you want to eat local for breakfast, Skillet's is the breakfast headquarters. Their waffles are the best. My husband gets the big traditional breakfast and has been delighted that they prepare his eggs exactly how he likes his eggs. Try the country potatoes they're the best. My husband and I were on the way to Healdsburg and decided to stop in Windsor for some breakfast. I'd remembered seeing Skillets listed online a while back when we were searching for restaurants in the area so we decided to try it out. Skillets has a nice outdoor seating area where dogs are welcome, which I appreciated. We sat inside and were tended to right away. Our server was very friendly and nice, and brought us some water and coffee as soon as we asked for it. I ordered the Denver omelette and my husband decided on the breakfast burrito. Normally the burrito comes with bacon but my husband asked if he could have chorizo instead and they were happy to oblige. My omelette came with hashbrowns and toast. My omelette was perfectly cooked and was packed with the fillings. My hashbrowns were nice and crispy as I like them. My husband loved his burrito and was so full after just eating a half that he took the other half home. Everything was delicious and the service was wonderful. My only request next time would be a little bit stronger coffee. We're not in the Windsor area too often but Skillets will definitely remain at the top of our list for breakfast when we're nearby. read more

I came in with a table of five (5) and only waited about 10-15 minutes with a seemingly full house. The waiter was relatively attentive and kind. Wait for food was also not bad, waiting about 15 minutes. I ordered the Florentine Benedict. The plate was a quaint, fresh delight. There was a hint of missing seasoning which would have been nice. The tomato and spinach added a freshness that was guite enjoyable. The egg was also cooked perfectly, with a fluffy, light flavor, and texture. I'm not a big fan of green onions which this plate has a substantial amount of, although not breaking the dish entirely. The hash browns were the star of the dish, toasted the perfect amount with a softer inside. The portions of the dish was overall okay. As someone who eats a little more than the rest, the dish wasn't entirely filling. I do see it filling someone with a smaller or average appetite. I also ordered a plate of the french toast, an adequate dish overall. The french toast was an adequate size, coming with two slices and a small side. I substituted the side option for another side of hash browns (yes, they were really that good). Pricing was also very affordable (considering other options) with the most expensive dish costing around $18.75. They also have a nice Kids menu with equally great prices. The eggs were well cooked, the portions generous, but not overwhelming. More than that, they had a nice variety and the potatoes were excellent in all their iterations. Not soggy, not over or undercooked, and that is a true test of a breakfast place. There was a touch of a wait on a Sunday morning, but I think that's to be expected. Service was polite and quick. My dad has a walker, and they were kind and found a place to store it while he ate, and made sure to help him with the door when we left.
