I orded the NY Steak Sandwich with Fries. Aside from the big disappointment of getting my "medium-rare" steak "medium-well", I was otherwise very pleased with my order. Very cute restaurant with lots of food and beverage options. Located right off 101 in the Vineyard Plaza. it's easy to get to and parking is ample. Our hostess made us feel very welcome, which set the tone for the whole meal. We had a light lunch. Each of us ordered a cup of soup and a half sandwich. My husband had the tortilla chicken soup and I had the vegetable orzo. It was very, very good. There were many specialty coffee drinks and a bar. The menu had tons of choices too. This restaurant has tired, outdated decor and a menu full of bland, overcooked food. I have eaten here with a movie group after attending a film at the Airport Cinema three times and have been consistently disappointed. Last night I ordered soup and salad. The salad was acceptable, but the vegetable barley soup was disgusting. The vegetables and the few barley grains were mushy and bloated. It tasted like it had been boiling on the stovetop all day. Three of my companions ordered menu items with chicken and they all said the chicken was tough and/or rubbery. The waitress was pleasant, but seemed frazzled and overworked. Let me start by saying I like to give good reviews; however, this evening's experience wasn't the case. We both had the broccoli baked potatoes. My greatest regret was I didn't take a photo. We had a large baked potato sliced in half with broccoli over top slathered with so much processed cheese it wasn't edible. What struck me upon entering was how dirty the carpets were. The first booth we chose was so duct taped on the side I chose that we went to another one where we sunk into the cushion. It's sad with the close proximity to the airport. I called to place an order and pick it up at noon. I was specifically interested in their salads. I've had lunch there many time and even ordered a several lunches to take on the Smart Train down the street. I mentioned that I checked their website and it said their menu under construction. I come here for 3 things. Breakfast, chocolate shakes, and Beverly! The breakfast is very "diner style" with the tasty mains and plentiful sides. The hashbrowns are ALWAYS on point - this isn't always the case everywhere. The crispiness and seasonings are really important, this diner does both well. The chocolate shakes consist of incredibly delicious and quality real ice cream and made traditionally with those old-fashioned shake machines. Beverly is a saint, she's the most kind person here, but she also will remember your name, your order, is super attentive, and always upbeat no matter what. She knows quality customer service and is just a downright great human being. The atmosphere is eclectic, almost like a 70's style diner that I think is both amusing and cozy. We were looking for a place for lunch within walking distance of the Sonoma County Airport SMART Station. Warning: there are no sidewalks between the station and the shopping center. You will be walking on the side of a busy road. First impression is that Kaffe Mocha & Grill is your typical neighborhood booth and table restaurant where locals meet. We ordered Morning Quesadilla and Pancake Special with Sausage (aka Breakfast Quesadilla and 2+2+2). Morning Quesadilla was bland by itself. I felt that it would have been better if the eggs had been scrambled and without the beans. Eating the Quesadilla with salsa and guacamole made it much better. Jalapeño did not improve the taste. Pancake Special was about what I expected with properly prepared eggs and good sausage. Pancakes were dry and needed too much butter and too much syrup to be good. Summary: since this is the current End-of-Track for SMART, there is a reasonable chance that I will go back. Next time, I will try a burger and, maybe, try a seriously tempting goodie from the pastry counter. read more

The sandwiches were amazing and the fries were delicious. My son had a thick, rich shake too. Then, when we couldn't find an available ride share XL in the area, the owner gave us a ride to the airport! We were so thankful and blessed by his kind generosity! 2, maybe a 2.5. Could easily be better really. Feels like a local diner in the newer neighborhood. Mostly American comfort food. I eat vegetarian most of the time. Didn't feel like an omelette or a veggie burger in order to make things work so I got a nachos and substituted sauteed veggies for the meat that would usually be in there. Seemed like the only real option to do so since I wanted some kind of avocado really. The nachos were decent. Mostly cheese on top. Felt like nachos from a ball game at a AAA team, maybe a AA team. Just felt lacking for what I wanted. The sauteed veggies were left to sit in oil the way they were cooked, the little amount of the veggies were also just tossed into the dish with all of the latent oil making the dish very greasy. It was mostly just a scoop of sour cream, guac, cheese, and chips with some slices of pickled jalapenos. It was nice I suppose that there wasn't a charge for switching to sauteed vegetables rather than meat, but I'd rather have paid more for better to be honest. C'est la vie.
