I cannot believe I've lived here almost my entire life and never knew this place existed! Thank you…read moreYelp search for recommending it! The owner is the nicest person you'll ever meet! He let us sample hummus and baba gannouj which were excellent!!! Highly recommend the baba gannouj! He was very patient with us and allowed us to customize our orders to fit our dietary restraints. I really appreciate that! Do be patient because it takes time for him to make everything by himself, but it's worth it!!! Falafel Wrap $16.95 (10/5 stars) - swapped out the hummus for baba gannouj which I recommend, there are so many flavors working in harmony and everything tastes fresh, the veggies were so nice and crisp, the falafel was well seasoned Beef Gyro Shawarma Plate $25.95 (10/5) - my partner reported that this was excellent especially the grilled Lavash bread, perfectly crispy, the interior was perfectly balanced and delicious Baklava $6.99 for 2 (10000000/5) - I have eaten so much baklava and this is the best I've ever had, the separate top layer of just the filo pastry without the honey is genius, so you get a perfect crunch ratio to the part soaked in honey, if you have to get 1 thing I recommend this Arabic/Turkish Coffee (5/5 stars) - it was on the house which next time he better let me pay, this is what coffee should taste like, none of that water down American coffee, straight coffee in it's purest densest form, no additives or spices, pure shot of coffee Overall, he got 2 new customers.

I tried Sam's Mediterranean for the first time, and honestly, it's one of the best spots in the…read moreNorth Bay. We ordered three wraps: chicken shawarma, falafel shawarma, and the veggie wrap. The chicken shawarma was the star--super juicy, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. You can really taste how well-seasoned and moist the chicken is. The falafel shawarma was also really good. Falafel can naturally be a bit dry, so maybe a little extra sauce would make it even better, but overall the wrap had great flavor and fresh veggies. The veggie wrap was delicious too. It comes with avocado and a mix of fresh vegetables. Avocado with falafel is actually a great combo. All the sauces were amazing--the tzatziki, the red sauce, and the toum (garlic sauce). They're full of flavor and elevate the wraps so much. Also salad is exceptional, I'm not normally a salad person but I finished this salad in a minute. The customer service was exceptional. Sam was incredibly kind and cooked everything right in front of me. It took a few extra minutes, but you could tell he was putting real care into every order. Since it was my first time, he even gave me a spinach pie for free, which was really sweet of him--and it tasted great. Overall, highly recommend checking out Sam's Mediterranean. Amazing food, great service, and definitely worth a visit if you're in the area.

A gem in a tiny west Sonoma County town, Underwood never fails to satisfy. Featuring a diverse menu…read morethat features steak frites, a hamburger, salads, legitimate French Onion Soup - pizzeta's and Pad Thai - among other delights - the setting and the comfort of being in this beautiful spot never fails. On a lazy Saturday afternoon, I visited and was promptly seated and served. I enjoyed a romaine salad, my son enjoyed the mac & cheese - his favorite anywhere - and I had a burger with fries. The burger came with white cheddar cheese and bacon, with chipotle ketchup, regular ketchup, and aïoli on the side. I had a glass of Chardonnay, and the wine list is what you would expect from a Sonoma County restaurant. By the bottle or by the glass you are assured of a good selection. Nothing you order here will disappoint you. The dining room is a rustic space with a lot of wood appointments. There's a nice long classic bar. And there's an outdoor patio where you can eat and enjoy the beautiful weather. If you're anywhere near the place, you owe it to yourself to visit Underwood or a lovely lunch or dinner. Hang out with the locals, enjoy a down home relaxed meal.

Worth noting though: it gets very noisy. The menu offers an interesting mix of Thai and French cuisine - not quite fusion, but rather two distinct menus side by side. Think of it as a safe bet for groups with different cravings. The portions are decent and the prices are in line with typical Bay Area standards - not a bargain, but not outrageous either. Unfortunately, what brought my rating down to three stars was the service. For a relatively simple meal - oysters to start and one entrée each - the pacing was surprisingly slow. We waited nearly 20 minutes for our plates to be cleared, another 10 for the dessert menu, and after an additional 15-minute wait we ended up canceling dessert altogether, as the evening had stretched to two hours and we had a long drive ahead. To be fair, the tables around us seemed to have a smoother experience, so perhaps we caught them on an off night. I'd like to give them another shot, but I'm leaving with mixed feelings that honestly reflect a three-star experience - great bones, but the service needs work.

This place is very popular so I would recommend making reservations in advance, especially if you are going on the weekend. It has a warm and inviting ambiance and the staff are really friendly. The food was delicious. I had the Little Gem salad and a slice of my husband's pizza. Both were delicious. They have a lot of options appetizers, pizzas, and main dishes. They have options for their pizzas like a gluten free crust and vegan cheese. I also love that this is a family owned restaurant since I much prefer these types of restaurants over corporately owned ones. Highly recommend!

The prices are very reasonable for the quality, with entrées typically ranging from $30-$50. We always start with the Brussels sprouts--they're our must-have favorite. This time, I ordered the halibut while my husband chose the ribeye, and both dishes were outstanding. The halibut was perfectly seasoned, and the fresh tomatoes that came with it burst with flavor in every bite. I usually go for the half chicken (which is also fantastic), but I'm so glad I tried the halibut this time. One detail I really appreciated was the owner coming by to check in--it made the experience feel even more personal. Reservations are highly recommended. We were seated right away when we arrived about 5 minutes before our 6pm reservation time. Hazel's has a smaller menu that's part of the charm--every option feels carefully crafted, so you don't get decision fatigue. Hazel's sundae was also a great dessert treat after a delicious meal. We wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a wonderful dining experience.
