    Hot water kettle

My friends & I were in Geyserville for wine tasting at the Francis Coppola and Trentadue wineries. The Trentadue sommelier recommended Baci in Healdsburg. My friend made the reservation at 5 pm. It has been a while I had not been back to Healdsburg downtown. We were led to our table. It's a clean restaurant. Our server was patiently waiting for our order as we were eating family style. We did not have any wine to drink but hot water. The 4 of us were given separate little hot kettle & cup with sliced of lemon on the side of the saucer. We ordered Insalata di Carciofo con Rucola to start the meal. We had Rigatoni con Salsiccia, Pollo alla Livornese & Costata di Manzo Brasato. The arugula and shaved artichoke hearts salad with the paired dressing was delicious. The chicken breast was tender and moist. The rigatoni filling had the small portion of flavor meat. The short ribs were tasty and tender. We all enjoyed the food. We did not have dessert anymore as we had the chocolate bars in our wine pairing. Overall we likely to return to Baci if we are in the neighborhood.

We had an excellent dinner at Baci last week. On our annual trip to Healdsburg, we always make a point of eating dinner there. Their menu has so many delicious looking things, but I cannot resist their Insalata di Barbabietole. There is NO comparison with any other beet salads I've ordered elsewhere. This year, I paired it with a yummy French Onion Soup and my husband enjoyed his Osso Bucco. It was his birthday, but he never has dessert at a restaurant. He prefers to take it to go and enjoy it later. Our fabulous server, Sherri, knew we were staying at a local Airbnb, so she made sure we could properly enjoy his Tiramisu and included a candle! Lisbeth is always so gracious and we got lucky to have the "sweetheart's table" in the front, away from the noise from the busy restaurant. Thank you, Baci!

What a delectable dinner! After almost 5 years in Healdsburg this was our first visit to Baci and it won't be our last. When our Saturday night plans fell through, we hungrily meandered through town. As we walked by Baci we decided to give it a try, and although busy, they welcomed us and fit us in. We really enjoyed the fresh, flavorful Italian eats and the warm and attentive service - our server is from Rome (gotta love that!) and he was knowledgeable about and helpful with the extensive menu. We started with Acme bread and olive oil and some local wines, and here's what we ordered: *SPERLUNGA - A selection of 3 (or 4) Appetizers for the Table at $ 22 to $ 30 per person - we were eyeing three salads so this was the perfect way to sample them all: 1. Burrata - Fresh Mozzarella stuffed with Cream on Grilled Bread, Sautéed Leeks, Pancetta. Topped with Roasted Tomatoes, Pesto & Extra Virgin Olive Oil 2. Insalata Tri Colore - Wild Baby Arugula, Endive, Radicchio, Shaved Fennel, Commanche Creek Cherry Tomato in a Lemon Balsamic Vinaigrette 3. Insalata di Pesca - Dry Creek Farms Peach, Fresh Burrata, Pistachio, Basil Infused Extra Virgin Olive Oil, Balsamic Reduction & Balsamic Pearls -this is a summer special using the best local peaches! IYKYK *Bucatini all'Amatriciana - Bucatini Pasta with Pancetta, Onion, Garlic, Tomato Sauce, Chili Pepper & Pecorino Cheese $ 25 -the bright acidity of the tomatoes, the salty pancetta and pecorino, and the slight chili pepper punch! Simple and yet sumptuous! This dish brought me back to summer nights in Italy! *Gnocchi alla Bolognese - Traditional Slow-Cooked Meat Sauce made from American Kobe Beef, Veal & Pork Ribs, tossed with House-made Gnocchi $ 32 -my guy absolutely loved this (although he may have loved my dish more!) We loved everything that we ordered and cleaned our plates; saved no room for dessert. But we'll be back for sure. Baci is old-school Italian in food, service, and setting. If you're looking for Italian comfort food, give them a try. Buon appetito!

This is one of our favorite restaurants in the area. The ambiance is lovely and the Italian food is superb. The service is second-to-none. Gino is our preferred waiter and he is a delight. The owners are working there and everything is perfect. You MUST have dinner here if you are in town. Classic Italian with the most wonderful wine selection...just perfect for a Healdsburg visit. We eat her every time we are in town. You will not be disappointed. Guaranteed!

    Osso bucco and rissoto

Located right off Healdsburg Plaza in a high ceiling barn-like structure, Baci Cafe is a warm and inviting Italian restaurant. Seems to be a local's favorite as the chef visited with guests, with only a few tech bros eating while we were there in March on a rainy Saturday night. We started by splitting a Caesar salad, which honestly was that not that good and quite dry and bland, despite the anchovy flavor. I ordered the short ribs and polenta, which were fall off the bone delicious in a rich sauce with creamy polenta for $39. My husband had the Osso bucco and mushroom rissoto, which he said was delicious but not a large serving and super expensive at $55. The vegetable sides were average with peas, carrots, broccolini. We ended the meal with crème brule cheesecake which was quite delicious, drizzled with caramel sauce. I had indicated it was my birthday on the OpenTable reservation but there was no acknowledgement or free dessert, which was dissapponting. For the two meals and a glass of champagne and sauv blanc plus tip, it was nearly $200. We really liked the food but it was a higher than we like to pay considering it's indoor dining only and not an "experience" restaurant.

The food was off the charts amazing and the service was as well! We were greeted warmly, seated quickly and the service was incredible. Frank was our server and was so helpful and friendly. We were celebrating our 44th anniversary and the staff made it extra special with a more private seating area and a beautiful dessert. Highly recommended.

I wanted to go out for a Happy Hour and looked into my list of places I want to try on here (based on recommendations for local friends). this looked perfect and i've never really experienced Healdsburg... The bar was packed and they do allow standing room but that's not what i wanted. Standing is fine and dandy if I was in a group but i was alone.... She offered either a table or at the counter overlooking the kitchen..I opted for counter. I had a perfect view of all the food being prepped. I was tempted to do the "founders" menu which is 3 courses for $50 ...option to add wine pairing for $30. BUT...i wasn't that hungry. I opted for the HH menu...i picked the Pepperoni flatbread + Baby lettuce & grapefruit salad. Happy Hour Rose wine... That salad was so damn good! the "croutons' were a goat cheese meringue. wow! dressing was perfectly done. the pizza was also amazing!! i had half of each to take back to hotel. they do have a wall of wine (by the ounce pours)...as impressive as it was ...i wasn't interested in walking over there to pour and sample. super fun atmosphere... phenomenal service spectacular food. 100% want to come back again!

Our server Akayla was super patient and fun, she explained the history of the winery and told fun stories about the owners. The place was clean and organized. They knew exactly what they were doing and I am so impressed with the hospitality! The quantity of food you get with the food + pairings option is not enough for a meal, but perfect for a snack. We were told the lunch dishes are the same but bigger portions. My favorite dishes from the tasting was the Brick Cooked Chicken and the Chocolate Lamington Dessert. My favorite wine was not one that paired with those two, but it was called Elate Grange Cuvée which was a red blend. I was considering the wine membership but what attracted me the most was not the wine but the food + wine pairing experience. So although I didn't sign up to be a member, I will definitely come back as a customer! I want to bring my parents next time for either lunch with pairings or the food with pairings option.

We put in our orders and we were soon presented with the app, warm brioche buns with local butte a generous plate of tasty mesclun mix salad with great micro fennel and mustard greens and a delightful onion gratin with super gooey cheese. Then it was on to the entrees, I had chosen cassoulet, a favorite of mine and it arrived hot and aromatic with a nice hunk of sausage and a confit duck leg. The portion was generous and the beans were creamy and flavorful, my only complaint would be that they were a little heavy handed with the salt. My wife went with the trout which arrived with beautiful asparagus and a tasty sauce but alas it was a little undercooked. They replaced it with a perfectly cooked piece and she was very happy. We both loved the crispy skin on the trout. Finally we both went with the Mille feuille for dessert and it was a wonder, light crispy pastry with lemony custard and cream. Overall good experience, we will likely return.

The food though was disappointing. The most interesting item was the clams that came in a cava broth with garlic and parsley. They brought some toasted hearty bread to soak up the sauce. The baby kale salad was also nice with shaved fennel and manchego. The other three dishes were both off and a bit weird. The cauliflower came with bacon, which was good, and sweet dates; the dates were an odd addition and they stuck to your teeth. The calamari, was prepared well - it wasn't chewy - but it just had an off flavor, or at least one I haven't experienced before. Same too for the octopus. This was a much larger portion than typical - two tentacles, plus potatoes and olives. The octopus though was rather mealy. Small Spanish red wine list; only four. Tried two and neither were our favorites. The 1970s-80s classic rock soundtrack was an odd choice for background music.
