We stayed in Healdsburg for the first time and we wanted to have some amazing and fresh meals and we loved the way Baci Cafe sounded and their food looked super cool! We made a reservation a few weeks in advance via our resort concierge and we arrived early to walk around Healdsburg. There is plenty of free street and parking lot parking in the area. We went in the restaurant about 10 minutes early and we received a really warm greeting from the restaurant hostess and they showed us to our table. From the restaurant bus staff to the servers, they were all so warm and welcoming. They came by first and brought us water and a drink list. We ordered a bottle of wine to start, they had a range of wine selections available. They also allow you to bring a bottle of wine, but there is a pretty hefty corkage fee, so for us it made more sense just to order a bottle of wine at the restaurant. The server also came by and brought us fresh bread and olive oil. We ordered the Caesar Salad to start ($16) and the salad was really good and fresh. For entrees, we ordered two pastas to share (one of the pastas on the specials menu for around $30) all including local fresh ingredients, and the Tagliatelle alla Carbonara ($23). They also came by and gave us more bread upon request, and everything was so tasty, we really enjoyed all of the food and very warm and welcoming service! read more

Cute little Italian joint in downtown Healdsburg. The main dishes can run a tad pricey, but it's a fun night on the town. Also, seems like the staff is always trying to upsell on dish upgrades. Burrata: Such a great appetizer. Tons of creamy burrata on top of a toasty baguette slice with lots of onions in between. All the right textures and flavors. Carpaccio: Kinda like beef sashimi. Super thin slices of high quality beef flavored with lemon, capers and nice slices of parmesan. Not as filling as the burrata, but still great. Vitello Parmigiana: Like chicken parm, but much fancier. Apparently the veal is from Pennsylvania. It was super tender, maybe even more so than chicken. Thin and pounded with a nice breading, loved all the cheese. Spaghetti Bolognese: Got the upgrade on the Vitello Parmigiana, where this pasta replaced a plainer pasta. Love that the spaghetti was fresh and tender. The bolognese was meaty. It was *almost* too much food, but I was hungry. Limoncello Mascarpone Cake: I asked if they had limoncello as an after dinner drink, but they did not. However, they had this cake. It was creamy and had that nice tart and alcoholic limoncello tang. Chocolate Temptation: Several layers of different chocolate things. Love the contrast of light milky chocolate and intense dark chocolate. read more

My friends & I were in Geyserville for wine tasting at the Francis Coppola and Trentadue wineries. The Trentadue sommelier recommended Baci in Healdsburg. My friend made the reservation at 5 pm. It has been a while I had not been back to Healdsburg downtown. We were led to our table. It's a clean restaurant. Our server was patiently waiting for our order as we were eating family style. We did not have any wine to drink but hot water. The 4 of us were given separate little hot kettle & cup with sliced of lemon on the side of the saucer. We ordered Insalata di Carciofo con Rucola to start the meal. We had Rigatoni con Salsiccia, Pollo alla Livornese & Costata di Manzo Brasato. The arugula and shaved artichoke hearts salad with the paired dressing was delicious. The chicken breast was tender and moist. The rigatoni filling had the small portion of flavor meat. The short ribs were tasty and tender. We all enjoyed the food. We did not have dessert anymore as we had the chocolate bars in our wine pairing. We had an excellent dinner at Baci last week. On our annual trip to Healdsburg, we always make a point of eating dinner there. Their menu has so many delicious looking things, but I cannot resist their Insalata di Barbabietole. There is NO comparison with any other beet salads I've ordered elsewhere. This year, I paired it with a yummy French Onion Soup and my husband enjoyed his Osso Bucco. It was his birthday, but he never has dessert at a restaurant. He prefers to take it to go and enjoy it later. Our fabulous server, Sherri, knew we were staying at a local Airbnb, so she made sure we could properly enjoy his Tiramisu and included a candle! Such a welcoming place! We had drinks and ordered takeout here First - great drink and wine selection! Incredibly kind bartender Second - celiac and gluten free friendly! Our daughter has celiac and we read great reviews on Find Me Gluten Free. We shared with the staff and they let us know how much of their menu is or can be gluten free and that they'd add a note on the ticket and talk to the kitchen. We ended up ordering two kids gluten free pastas (one with Alfredo, one with marinara) for the kids and they loved them! For the adults, the scampi and eggplant Parmesan were delicious! Great Caesar salad and tricolore salad (so fresh). And we also got the orecchiette with sausage - we scarfed it down before we could take a picture! We will be back next time we're in town! What a delectable dinner! After almost 5 years in Healdsburg this was our first visit to Baci and it won't be our last. When our Saturday night plans fell through, we hungrily meandered through town. From seating to leaving, the whole experience was incredible. The server was super attentive, greeting us immediately upon arrival. The owner, Shari, came to greet us, talked extensively about his food, his background, and his passion about food. He served us a Pistachio Saffron ice cream with Mulberry, which was heavenly. Located right off Healdsburg Plaza in a high ceiling barn-like structure, Baci Cafe is a warm and inviting Italian restaurant. Seems to be a local's favorite as the chef visited with guests, with only a few tech bros eating while we were there in March on a rainy Saturday night. We started by splitting a Caesar salad, which honestly was that not that good and quite dry and bland, despite the anchovy flavor. I ordered the short ribs and polenta, which were fall off the bone delicious in a rich sauce with creamy polenta for $39. My husband had the Osso bucco and mushroom rissoto, which he said was delicious but not a large serving and super expensive at $55. The vegetable sides were average with peas, carrots, broccolini. We ended the meal with crème brule cheesecake which was quite delicious, drizzled with caramel sauce. I had indicated it was my birthday on the OpenTable reservation but there was no acknowledgement or free dessert, which was dissapponting. For the two meals and a glass of champagne and sauv blanc plus tip, it was nearly $200. We really liked the food but it was a higher than we like to pay considering it's indoor dining only and not an "experience" restaurant. read more

We were visiting from out of town last night and just sat down for dinner when I noticed an elderly gentleman at the next table was having a medical emergency, appearing slumped over at his seat. I've been a paramedic for 32 years, so I didn't hesitate to go over and offer help. He wasn't responding fully and was quite diaphoretic. His wife mentioned a few things about his medical history, which were helpful. He began to wake up a little more and started asking appropriate questions so I was able to do a quick stroke assessment, which was fine. I decided to move him to the front of the restaurant where he'd get some fresh air and the paramedics would have easier access to assess him. I spent about ten minutes chatting with him before fire and ambulance arrived and then wished him and his super nice family well. He was refusing the ambulance by the time I left and returned to my table. I certainly didn't expect the Medal of Honor or anything, but the restaurant said nothing. Rather, the hostess admonished me for moving this nice man into the fresh air where he could breathe. Does she realize her dining area would have been flooded with six or more first responders? She appeared more focused on pouring herself wine than she did thanking anyone for tending to one of her customers. Sad. The good news is that our food was good and our waiter was wonderful. Too bad Elizabeth, the hostess, was ... not. I think we'll skip Baci in the future. I doubt Elizabeth will care. read more

From the moment of walking in the door, we were greeted respectfully and cheerfully. Due to my gluten intolerance, they also took the time to explain how food is handled in the kitchen and what items were available to me for dinner. The cafe was very Italian like. Once we sat down, a sever approached us, again, very helpful and nice. We ordered prosciutto with melon, a salad, then for our main gluten free penne with clams. The prosciutto and melon was fantastic, as well as the salad. I felt the penne was slightly over done, but still good. The clams were cooked perfectly and the sauce was nice. Typical Italian cuisine. If I could give more than 5 stars I would. Not only is the food AMAZING, the service is impeccable. Not often do my husband and I go to a restaurant that is so accommodating with children. They brought our 2 year old a toy, a mini I scream for dessert, and asked if we wanted to order ahead of time so he could start eating. They gave the whole adult menu as an option for a kids meal. Brought us a kids cup, and continuously checked in on us all night to make sure he was accommodated. We were pretty full after an appetizer of beef carpaccio, arugula salad and then chicken piccata and short ribs. all which were delicious. We decided to pass on dessert and they were kind enough to wrap up a birthday dessert to go. the owners were genuine and friendly. My only suggestion would be to possibly add more alcohol removed beverages and or cocktails for us sober people who still wanna feel like we're celebrating. We had a fantastic dinner here on our first night in Healdsburg. At first I was a bit skeptical of my husband's choice, as the restaurant is all indoor dining, and it was definitely an older crowd. But the food was wonderful, and we had a super enjoyable experience. We shared the caprese, a pasta special, and the veal piccata. All of the food was great, but the stand out was the pasta--- and it was so good, I would consider going back again tomorrow. It was a tagliatelle pasta with lamb ragu, spring onions (always get the spring onions), asparagus, mushrooms and roasted tomatoes. Absolutely dreamy perfection. Go get this while you can! Awful experience with the waitstaff on Saturday ( 1/20 ) Our server was very rude and flippant It was like she was trying to get us to stand up and walk out of the restaurant, really terrible attitude actually. I understand that people have bad days but she was on a mission to irritate the group tonight. When I asked for the GM for the night she refused to tell me. That didn't help. The Caesar salad was salty, the seafood stew was flavorless as well. This place has taken a steep dive from the pre-Covid days when we used to be regulars. It's sad. read more

Baci is a great Italian restaurant just off the square in Healdsburg, CA. The food is very tasty and rich. Four of us had the prosciutto, the burrata salad and the bruschetta to start our meal. Then we had the spaghetti bolognese, the bucatini all'Amatriciana, the gnocchi and the veal saltimbocca along with a couple of nice bottles of a Montepulciano d'abruzzo. After a fun-filled day of wine tasting, my friends and I were trying to figure out where to go for dinner. Most of the places that we had called were booked up that evening. We were originally going to go to Kinsmoke, but my friend called Baci to see if they had room for us. By the grace of GAWD, they were able to accommodate us. First of all, this place is so adorable! It's a mix of homey and slightly upscalish, but totally unpretentious. Low lights, rustic decor, everything nicely spaced out. All of the staff was wearing masks and gloves and they were all well groomed. Just ambience for days. The MENU... just too much for my little heart to bare. Everything and I mean EVERYTHING on that menu sounded sensational. We ended up ordering the following: *Burrata: So tasty! It was served over large pieces of grilled bread. It was soft and creamy and topped with a lovely roasted tomato and pesto paste alongside fresh olive oil. As soon as I cut into this baby, the cream started oozing out in pure glory. It was so good! *Rigatoni Con Salsiccia: This was actually the only dish that I didn't get to try. However it was beautifully presented, and my friend wiped his plate CLEAN! It also smelled amazing. He really loved it and he's kind of picky when it comes to food, so that's really saying something. Tagliatelle con Frutti di Mare: DAAAMN! This tasted INCREDIBLE!!! Such an amazing seafood pasta. Everything from the seafood, the sauce, all the way down to the noodles tasted perfect. The sauce was so hearty and flavorful and the pasta tasted so fresh! Loved those scallops to death! Such a fragrant dish. If I hadn't gotten the housemade ravioli, I would have totally ordered this. It was excellent! Ossobucco e Risotto con Funghi (braised veal shank w/ mushroom risotto): FANTASTIC!!! The veal was cooked perfectly and nearly melted in my mouth. It was so incredibly tender and seasoned up for the Gawds. The aromas of the veal and risotto radiated throughout the table. And that mushroom risotto! WOW!!! This wasn't even my plate but it was so hard to stop eating this after just one bite. The flavors were just amazing and the consistency was absolutely perfect. Another dish that I would order for myself on another occasion. *Ravioli Del Giorno Al Forno: Absolutely sensational! I kind of chuckled when it first arrived to the table because it resembled enchiladas. But this is waaaay WAAAAY better than that! First off, the housemade pasta is a dream. Talk about melting in my mouth goodness. Yaaassss! Stuffed with heaps of super FRESH Dungeness crab meat, ricotta cheese, and pancetta, and bathing in a lobster cream sauce. And, let's not forget all of that delicious cheesy goodness right on top too. I literally DIED after taking a bite out of that pasta! Totally gag worthy. That "make your eyes roll to the back of your head" kind of delight. Mm hmm. That part. Delicious! *Cheesecake: For dessert, we finished everything off with a beautiful caramel glazed cheesecake. It was rich and creamy. The perfect way to end our night. Service was just impeccable from the moment that we arrived until we were walking out of the door. They've got a beautiful wine list as I'm sure you can imagine, but one wonderful perk about dining here is that they offer free corkage id you bring a bottle from Williamson Wines (first bottle only). We had just come from a tasting at Williamson and ended up corking 2 bottles of wine that we purchased from there. Such a memorable experience!
