My husband and I had a lovely afternoon at Williamson Wines. We did the wine and food pairing experience. Each wine tasting was paired perfectly with the food item. Our server Akayla was super patient and fun, she explained the history of the winery and told fun stories about the owners. The place was clean and organized. They knew exactly what they were doing and I am so impressed with the hospitality! The quantity of food you get with the food + pairings option is not enough for a meal, but perfect for a snack. We were told the lunch dishes are the same but bigger portions. My favorite dishes from the tasting was the Brick Cooked Chicken and the Chocolate Lamington Dessert. My favorite wine was not one that paired with those two, but it was called Elate Grange Cuvée which was a red blend. I was considering the wine membership but what attracted me the most was not the wine but the food + wine pairing experience. So although I didn't sign up to be a member, I will definitely come back as a customer! Welcome to Williamson Wines, where they espouse, "Where every glass holds a story and every bite is a journey." With this wonderful concept in mind, a fellow lover of wine and food and I took a journey to the Williamson Wines tasting room on a recent sunny weekend afternoon ready to try some of the most sumptuous French Style California Wines sourced from a wide variety of vineyards stretching from the Russian River Valley all the way to the Alexander Valley. Williamson Wines was one of the only wineries to have two wine tasting rooms in the city of Healdsburg as recently as last year they operated a second wine tasting room mere blocks away on Matheson Street in downtown Healdsburg, which closed late in 2024. Now with this one tasting room location still around, along with their own restaurant nearby that serves a four course lunch on Fridays, Williamson Wines still manages to showcase some of the best tasting wines while pairing them with familiar yet unique food pairings, of which we were able to try their wine and cheese tasting. For 25 dollars a person, we let the crew at Williamson Wines guide us through five of the top wines they produce through their many vineyards and pairing them with artisanal cheeses, preserves and salts that they sell at the Williamson Wines tasting room. After choosing to sit at their bar, our tasting room associate Tom made sure we were greeted with a splash of their 2024 Fizz Sparkling White Wine which was paired with generous cuts of white stilton cheese with bits of mango and ginger mixed in. Although on the drier side, this Blanc De Blanc was nicely light and refreshing sparkling wine was the perfect way to start our cheese and wine pairing as it was on the drier side when it comes to sparkling white wines. For our second pour we enjoyed their 2023 Chantilly Chardonnay, which was paired with a slide of Irish Cheddar topped with a slice of bread and butter pickle. This new pairing just recently selected by owner Dawn Williamson was a whole new tasting experience for the both of us as the salty brine of the pickle was enhanced with every sip of oaky Chardonnay. Although I am personally not a huge pickle fan, I became one thanks to the perfect cheese and pickle combination. For our third pour, we enjoyed their 2023 Adore Rosé Wine of Grenache, which was paired with their Gouda Cheese topped with their own Truffle Cheese Salt combination. So successful are their salts and spices that they actually sell them by the jar at Williamson Wines. This Rosé is nicely balanced when paired with a block of cheese topped with a generous amount of this special salt. For our fourth wine tasting, we enjoyed one winemaker Bill Williamson's signature wines, in their 2022 Entice Cuvée, which was paired with slices of the salami encased in cracked black pepper. A combination of Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec and three Bordeaux varieties, this lovely wine can easily be paired with any spicy or hearty dish, bringing out the flavor in both. For our fifth and final pairing, we enjoyed a pour of their 2023 Scandal Zinfandel Wine, which was paired with a nice soft Kerrygold cheese topped with a dollop of their Hot Pepper Bacon Jam, of which they also sell in a jar here at Williamson Wines. A nice powerful wine, which was a nice way to end our tasting, it only made me hungry for more wine and food pairings. With cooking videos being played on a giant television screen with easy to follow recipes from their Chef de Cuisine, Williamson Wines offers up both food and cooking accouterments to pair with any meal. With two wine and cheese pairing that came to $54.88 which was 25 dollars a person and included sales tax, my wine tasting friend and both got caught up and purchased other items including their Smokey Onion Mustard and their Truffle Cheese Salt which would come to an additional $42.00. Williamson Wines truly nails the perfect balance of mood and food! Their wine and cheese pairings are absolutely incredible as they were thoughtful, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The staff make the experience both fun and educational, and the downtown Healdsburg location couldn't be more convenient. If you love great wine, delicious bites, and warm hospitality, this is a must-visit! read more

The tasting was a lot of fun, and it was clear that the people who work here truly love wine and great food. Everyone was friendly and welcoming. We enjoyed a flight of wine paired with cheeses, and the pairing was as memorable as the wine itself. In addition to their wines, they also sell cheese, jams, spices, and other gourmet products. We appreciated that there was absolutely no pressure to join their wine club or purchase anything. Oftentimes, there's a hard sell at wineries, but not here. Wildhaven sonoma recommended williamson wines and they did not disappoint!! The staff members are all very attentive. I'm not too knowledgeable about wines. I just know what tastes good to me. Williamson wines was by far my favorite in healdsburg! This place is a must stop whenever you're in town. The people here are so so friendly and their service was top notch. Their happy hour was an amazing deal. For $15, you get a glass of wine with some cellar bites. We got to choose shrimp or a smash slider. A few months ago, I stopped by Williamson Wines Sonoma for a personalized tasting experience, and let's just say--I came, I sipped, I fell in love (with the wine, of course). I already knew I was sold on both of their sparkling wines--the Sparkling Shiraz and Sparkling Malbec--but nothing beats that first sip in the tasting room. As soon as I walked in, I was warmly greeted by the staff, who wasted no time pouring me a taste of both. Decisions, decisions... but let's be real--I wasn't leaving without a bottle. Not only did I walk away with my new favorite bottle of bubbles, but I also received a complimentary invitation to their happy hour (because nothing pairs better with wine than more wine). If you're in Healdsburg and love a good sip-and-savor experience, do yourself a favor--visit both the winery and the tasting room. Highly recommend--it's truly the grape-est! read more

I've been so fortunate to be invited twice to Williamson Wines pick up party. The most recent was this month, December. They sure know how to welcome you. Each of their wines was paired with a small plate created by their in-house chef. The table is set with all the right stemware & accouterments highlighting the various wines that were served. Of course this was a very merry time just right for the holidays but they have a large selection of wines to try and of course to take home. Stayed at the Hotel Healdsburg and was ready for some wine tasting. This is right across the street from the hotel. They offer a 2 for 1 complimentary cheese or food pairing with a postcard from the hotel lobby. These wines are only available and sold at this location, no other form of distribution. the wines are light, unique and tasty. The cheese pairings really complement the wine and vice versa. The staff is extremely friendly and knowledgeable. They also sell a ton of seasoning/spices, lots of unique ones you don't find in many places. It's also a popular place and was crowded when we went in on a Saturday afternoon. read more

I had a Groupon for this place and we used it on a weekend getaway. The entire experience was fantastic, except for the fact that they had changed locations and it wasn't updated online . We walked around forever trying to find the place. That was stressful because it made us late. There was a sampler tasting menu to go with the wines. Sadly, I can't remember the names of some of the things we ate but EVERY single thing I put in my mouth was amazing. I am a foodie. I love to cook and try new things. When I put something in my mouth that makes me close my eyes to savor the flavors I know I'm in a great place. We started with spring rolls topped with a perfectly cooked and marinated shrimp. The peanut sauce mixed soo well with the dish. We had a pea and crispy ham risotto. Again, perfectly cooked. Risotto was creamy and soft. Cooked perfectly. The crispy meat and peas that popped in your mouth made this dish amazing. Dessert was something baked and dipped in chocolate. It was served on a bed of raspberry sauce with mint leaves. I wish I could tell you what was inside that thing, but I forgot. But I didn't forget how great it tasted. Our server was super friendly. He took pics of us and talked in length about each wine we sampled. We didn't feel rushed and it was a really relaxing and fun experience. If you haven't been, I highly recommend you go! read more

This was our favorite tasting out of all the place we went to locally in Healdsburg. I think what made the tasting so memorable was the food pairings. The dishes that they prepared were honestly better than some of the restaurants in the downtown area. Overall we also felt that they had a good selection of wines to pick from so we ended up getting a case of various things from sparkling wine, white, and reds. We really enjoyed their focus on food and the fact that they also had other things like a spice club and cheese club to compliment the wine club. We also found that the videos and cooking demonstrations were easy and didnt require any fancy ingredients which was also a nice plus to look over now that we have a better understanding of their overall concept. read more

My experience took place on 4/6/25 for the 2pm tasting. I booked a pairing through vaitor and was called twice to confirm reservation. Day of booking and day of pairing. We booked for 2 people., upon arrival the hostess was super friendly and ask if we had any allergies. I said no we don't but we have dietary restrictions and don't eat rice. Thats when she said one of the dishes was risotto. But she quickly advised us that she will figure it out and get us a substitution. Tasting was going great until a man came out from the back and said very loudly "no substitutions"! This made me look over to the front counter and the 2 ladies that was working there noticed me looking at him too. I felt very mad and embarrassed .. he made sure we heard and everyone there heard. I can't believe I paid 50 bucks a person for this person to come out and say that to the whole room and staff. Especially Knowing that we heard him. I wanted to walk out right then and there. But our server was so nice that we wanted to just stick through the tasting we already paid for. They gave us a beef slider for substitution. It was good. I would have bought wine or even joined the club.. but that guy made it such a bad experience for me. I know our sever tried so hard to make it better. I really appreciate her. Our server got a great tip and then we were on our way. Unfortunately I won't be back due to that guy's comment. (Shorter older gentleman with salt and pepper hair) It was so unprofessional. As far as I know, Williamson Wines was the first tasting room in Healdsburg, CA that I experienced many years ago that strived to pair their fine wines with food, wine and cheese pairings, ICON food and wine pairings and so many other wine and food experiences to detail here. They have a staff, no a family of dedicated wine experts that will educate you not only on their fine wines but on how to enjoy them with your favorite foods. This is our second time doing a tasting with food pairing at Williamson, and it's always delicious. The weather was perfect to sit on the patio; we originally were seated inside, but the staff was nice enough to move us outside. Here's what we tasted: 1) Coconut Thai Green Shrimp Curry with Gertie Gewurztraminer. Nice way to start the tasting! Bright flavors in both the food and wine. 2) Jerk Salmon Taco with Tickled Pink Rosé. Probably my least favorite pairing, I didn't get a ton of flavor, but the textures were nice. 3) Entice Cuvée with Marinated Pepper Steak. The fan favorite of all the tastings! The food was scrumptious and paired with the wine, it really mellowed the tannins and brought out the fresh fruit notes (vs. being woodsy on its own). 4) Arouse Mélange with Red Velvet Crumble Cheesecake. Cheesecake isn't really my thing, but the wine was the best out of the four on its own. Lots of delicious black and blue fruit on the nose and pallet. Since my partner's parents are members, our server allowed us to try any of the wines on the main menu. We decided to have a touch of the Blanc de Blancs, which was a perfect way to end our tasting. We were lucky enough to sample Williamson wines at our hotel happy hour. We liked one of them so much, we went straight to the tasting room to purchase it. Thankfully they are open late on Fridays! It was quite lively in there for Friday happy hour. We were able to order the wines we wanted to bring home with us and still make our dinner reservation. OMG, I so fell in love with all of the various components of Williamson Wines. I drink a fair amount of wine but my pairing skills tend to fall into three categories: steak, dessert, hot weather (cab, port, and chilled rose, respectively). Then I met Williamson Wine and my eyes were opened to the exciting world of food pairing. The offer you so many different opportunities to try food with wine. You could do wine with little cheese squares with mustard dollops at their 134 Matheson Street location (if you're lucky George will tell you tales of Pinot Noirs getting a mani-pedi) or you can do full meals at their Tasting Room at 18 Matheson Street. We did it all! The food there is stunning and when you pair it with the wine, it's magic. Trust me...don't miss the opportunity to try this place out. It's a blast and every (and I mean every) staff member we interacted with was friendly and knowledgeable. And by the way, they also sell amazing salt, seasoning packets, and cheese.
