Kokomo Winery was one of the highlights of our Dry Creek Passport weekend. They had a great setup for the event--plenty of space, great energy, and a really well-done mix of food and wine that made it easy to hang out and enjoy everything at a relaxed pace. It didn't feel rushed or overcrowded like some stops can. After the event, we ended up spending extra time in the tasting room with Karen and Rob, who have both been there a long time. They're an awesome duo--super friendly, incredibly knowledgeable, and more than happy to geek out on wine, vineyards, and local terroir if you're into that. But they also keep it approachable if you just want to enjoy some great wines. The wines across the board were excellent--each one stood out in its own way, and it was hard to narrow down what to bring home - but still got a nice mix of Merlot, Syrah, Chardonnay, and Malbec for the ol' wine cellar (wine fridge) Overall, it's just a great experience--no pretension, great people, and wines that absolutely deliver. Definitely a spot we'll keep coming back to when we're in Dry Creek. read more

You need to reserve in advance and they only take 6 people each time slot which is very nice for social distancing. I opted for the 3pm timeslot since we were driving from the Bay. Driving in, it was quiet and the parking lot was pretty empty, especially for having a few wineries around. Their wines were unique and nothing like I tasted before, but definitely not something in my regular palate. I originally came here because they were known for a couple of their sweet wines. Our server was nice enough to let me opt out of my last wine to try their sweet ones but I wasn't a big fan of them. They had a unique really syrup-y taste that was kind of thick. Not my personal favorite. The guy who poured our wine was nice, but definitely memorized the "script" of each of the wines so I didn't feel compelled to ask him any questions. The owners were talking to another group the whole time, which I felt like they could have came over and said hi at one point (we were separated by different tables), so the experience could have been more welcoming. read more

Gorgeous socially-distant set up, and they craft the entire experience to your individual preferences! Scheduled a tasting for 2 at 11am on a Saturday. We booked a few weeks in advance since they are limiting capacity with Covid. Upon arrival, I was greeted by name and then escorted to our table. Our server congratulated us for celebrating our 5 year Caliversary and asked about what wines we enjoy and why we had come to Kokomo. Our server was with us from start to finish and "nerded out" with us on all the foods we would pair with the various wines, since we all enjoy cooking. We ended up staying for 2+ hours just talking and enjoying the ambience. Purchased a bottle and would've purchased more if we could've, but some wines are exclusive to wine members because they're small production (which I respect). Incredible winery! The wines are spectacular, the pino and cab franc are absolute show stoppers. We were helped by Karen and she was just a gem. Super nice, knowledgeable, and helpful. Loved Loved Loved - Everything about Kokomo Winery. I was most excited to taste his GSM and was rewarded with so much more!! The tasting place was set up outside in a makeshift cafe set up which definitely took a sting out of the 100 F + HEAT! Had to be below 80F in there. The staff were all overwhelmingly Charming as if - - - as if they were having a grande time with each other and us. Not just us, but everyone in the room!! (room of sorts). Just like every work place that attitude carries through to everyone whom walks through to a lovely complimentary feeling of love and well being. (Been watching too many British shows lately!). I would have the staff over for barrel aged Manny's and I had judged a wine comp with Eric the winemaker/ owner. I don't know him yet I knew he created wines I would crave and must have. I purchased close to a case and bought some I hadn't tasted. The Cab was very good to excellent and reasonably priced!! The Rhône varietals were made exceptionally well, about half of my case. And it's in Dry Creek = Exceptional Zinfandel grown & made here. More Claret style overall. The Zin was delicious with raspberry, ripe Strawberry, Bramble, nice complexity and also so delicious like let's buy a case and keep popping those bottles!! We visited Sonoma while we were in wine country for our anniversary. It was our first time in Sonoma and we visited Kokomo at the suggestion of the manager of another tasting room we visited. We had a great time. The wines were really good, the staff were great, and they went out of their way to make it a special visit for our anniversary. We tend to enjoy the smaller wineries/tasting rooms. It seems like having less hands in the process really shows in the wine. We enjoy coming across these hidden gems. I would much rather support a small operation than visit one of the mega wineries. There's something about finding a great wine that you can't get anywhere else. Visiting a winery producing wines that I can get in any grocery store cheaper than I can get it at the tasting room just isn't as much fun for me. There's 3 or 4 other tasting rooms on the same property with Kokomo, so you can do plenty of tasting without driving. We didn't try any of the others, but I'm sure we will next time. read more

We visited Kokomo at the invitation of good friends. They are members and had reserved a wine tasting experience for us. When we arrived, we were brought to a table that had four tasting menus, and each menu had our individual names on them. Nice welcoming touch! Our server was Jackson, and he was very knowledgeable about each wine we were served. He was friendly, attentive, and helpful. He kept our water bottle filled and gave us plenty of time to taste and experience each wine. We loved the ambience and the personal touches, including Indy and Westland, the dogs. We enjoyed it so much that we decided to join the wine club. We are looking forward to returning just to enjoy the atmosphere and the service. We had an exemplary tasting experience at Kokomo Winery. Like the owner, I am a Purdue alum and noted that on my reservation form--they put a "Boiler Up!" icon on my tasting menu! There were some unexpected treats--a Sauvignon Blanc aged in acacia, not oak. This lent a creamy mouthfeel minus an oaky taste. We also were given side-by-side pairings of Chardonnay and Zinfandel--unexpected and a plus! Kokomo's staff was friendly and helpful, and the yellow Lab greeter was a big plus! This is one winery that waives the tasting fee with the purchase of bottles--a great policy, IMHO! We are taking home 3 exceptional bottles. Our only disappointment was that some of the wines we liked the most were available only to club members--but that seems to be common in Sonoma and becoming more so elsewhere. read more

This is not technically a winery, it's a tasting room within a block of other tasting rooms. The inside is on the dark side but still cute. We sat outside for our tasting. None of the wines were my favorite unfortunately. You do however have your tasting waived with each bottle purchase. FYI - The pours are super small. read more

I was unable to get on the internet while I was there. I don't take pictures sorry. My party of 5 plus one child were seated outside along with my son's dog. It was such a pleasant day. Came here with some friends who had a rare kid-free weekend. We were able to snag a reservation for a Sunday at 1pm with just a few days notice. We came here after visiting Papapietro Perry, which is in the same little cluster of vineyards, and we enjoyed being able to just hop on over from one tasting room to the next without getting into the car. I also really enjoyed the wines; I always prefer tastings where you get to taste a variety of rose/white/reds, and this was just that. It was also close to my friends' birthday so they included a little "happy birthday" greeting on her menu. The best part of the tasting was the little chocolate truffle surprise that they surprise you with at the end, that pairs with their Cab Sauv. They also comp your tasting if you purchase a bottle. Service was excellent and bathrooms were clean! It was a very windy day, and their patio didn't have great protection, which was the only problem we had. We visited Kokomo Winery for the first time. We are not to wine tasting as we are fairly local. We found Kokomo to be a relaxing wine experience and had so much fun. The staff we very friendly and we're just real about wine. Not pretentious, they just conveyed their passion for wine. We loved everything we tasted but really enjoyed the Zinfandels. On another point the Chardonnay was very good. Fruit forward and not overly buttery. Long story short, we joined the club and will be back. read more

Update - Ross called my parents to personally apologize for this situation. He has assured them that this should have never happened and that it will never happen again. My parents will be scheduling a tasting with Ross. I hope they have an amazing time and especially enjoy their epic rosè. Extremely disappointed by the actions of Rob at Kokomo winery. My parents are wine club members here and in the past we have always enjoyed their wine. I was visiting from Colorado and we were spending the day in the Dry Creek Valley wine tasting and picking up shipments from other wineries. My mom called Kokomo to see if they had any availability for tasting that day and she was told yes and to head to the winery. Once we arrived at the winery about 15 minutes later we were rudely turned away by Rob. It was 3:15 in the afternoon and he has multiple tables open and was only helping 2 other parties. He told us that is we had arrived 15 minutes earlier he could have helped us. This was super unfortunate as we had scheduled an appointment when we called 15 minutes earlier. The level of service that he showed a wine club member who has been a member there for years is appalling. We have always recommended this winery to our friends who visit wine country and I personally was going to buy wine to bring back to Colorado. Due to Rob's actions, I will no longer be recommending this winery. I have told my parents that they should cancel and find a winery with better loyalty to their wine club members. read more

We were referred to this winery by a family member ... could not have been happier ... the wines were delicious ... but the best part of our tasting was Jeremy!!!! I responded to the request posted by Ross, the Hospitality Manager at Kokomo Winery, after my initial review. I'm very glad that I did. Our group of four was treated to a tasting of the available wines, including the latest of their Pinot varietal. The hospitality we were shown by Ross and Katie was above and beyond my expectations, and it's a testament to the responsive management of the winery that someone paid attention to my lone (Yelp voiced) disappointment, using the occasion to create something positive for everyone. I will say that I'm sorry to miss out on trying a perfect 100 (score) Pinot, but I was really quite surprised at the latest vintage. Really, every wine we tasted was very good, but to me the latest (2016) Pinot was just excellent - and I honestly had no expectation one way or the other. It's a fickle grape from what I've learned, varying a lot from one harvest to the next. Neither my lovely wife nor I are fans of Chardonnay, but we actually (surprise) enjoyed that tasting, and we both thought it was a step above many others we've tried. We were impressed enough with the wines that we decided, in the end, to become wine club members. The quality of the wines, and the professional service by Ross, Katie, Deb, and a host of others showed us that the golden days of wine tasting are alive and well here at Kokomo Winery. Oh my gosh Looooved the history lesson here about the owner and his crew! I bet you thought Kokomo was associated with Hawaii or the Beach boys, or some other nonsense. Nope! Kokomo Wines is as charming as Kokomo, Indiana! Okay I've never been there so I don't know if its charming or not. But if it's got owners like Erik who hires staff like Jared, (I made a rhyme) then I'm a huge fan. The wines were like soft rose petals on the tongue. You know how a petal feels soft and velvety between your fingers, that's how Kokomo wines are. We left with a 2011 Cabernet Sauvignon as well as an application to their wine club. Their wines are the kind you want to have in the cellar (if you have one) on standby. Perfect for that special occasion. Our tasting man Jared gave us a thorough lesson on the wines; where the vines are grown, which type of soil, which type of barrels, how long the fermentation and barreling process is and on and on. I felt like I walked out of there a sommelier exclusively for Kokomo. Go ahead ask me, I bet I have the answer. Because it was Friday and there wasn't a crowd, Jared gave us a tour of the fermentation and barreling area filled with ripening grapes. Members of the wine club are invited to events which are held in the barrel room. Apparently they are moved so the room is transformed into a more spacious venue to accommodate guests. Oh! Bonus star - check out their website to see the causes they support in the Sonoma area. They definitely contribute to the community in a positive way outside of the wine industry. Tried all their wines and did not buy. Found better taste and value around the Alexander Valley. The Kokomo tasting room location is in the same parking lot as 10 other wineries tasting rooms - right off Dry Creek Road. Stop at this ONE location and you will be able to taste wines from Amphora, Collier Falls, Dashe, Forth, Philip Staley, Peterson, Lago di Merlo, Mietz and Papapietro. read more

This winery is located in an area where they have a bunch of other family owned wineries. Their tasting room is fairly large and their staff is always friendly. The wines are good, especially their Zins. I'd recommend this winery if you're in the area. We've been to this winery several times as part of the Wine Road Event or Winter Wineland. They always have great food during the wind events and it's always fairly crowded. read more

Came here on Dec 30 for some wine tasting. We got lucky with having Austin as our wine guy (not sure of the right word haha) - it was only his second day but he did a great job! Really friendly. We liked all of our wine. There is no cell service in the building, but they let us use their WiFi to communicate with the rest of our group. read more

If you've been looking for a variety of wine including a fantastic light oak Chardonnay to a very refined Cab you need to go to Kokomo Ross the manager & his Lab Pup Westdale are so welcoming , no stuffy wine tasting here! We did a cheese paring & it was a good deal but really the best deal is finding a winery you can spend a few hours at that can feed you (if you call ahead)& let you get cuddles from a beautiful Lab pup My favorite is the Zin, get the Zin !
