We were delighted that we could call and get a same-day tasting appointment for 3 people at Viszlay. Abby (it's her family's winery) sat right down with us and gave us an hour of quality time! She was full of information and so interesting. The tasting fee is $20 per person but we bought 3 bottles so she waived all but 1 tasting fee. We really liked the 5 wines we got to taste and glad to buy a few of them. Thanks for the good time Abby Viszlay!

The grape stomp is the best I've been to because it is just a small event attended by about a hundred people and only four do the one minute contest at a time. So fun. The owners John and daughter Abby and the rest of the staff are the best hosts. The very affordable price for the grape stomp and lunch makes me want to come back next year. However, I wish they would serve better food. It doesn't have to be expensive, just something homemade, made from scratch, and delicious.

Scheduled a wine tasting while we were in the area. John came out and did a talked about the wines and how he became involved in the industry. The wine is good, the view is great and John is good company.

Darling family-owned winery. We reserved a wine tasting session and had a mix of barrel tasting and bottle tasting (because of the weekend). Both Abby and John are incredibly down to earth and spoke with us the entire time. Their tasting room is also their cellar, so the inside area is small, however they have a beautiful outdoor area with seating. It was a breath of fresh air to experience a winery that wasn't on a more commercialized estate. We thoroughly enjoyed!

Vislay is a hidden gem set in the rolling hills of Healdsburg. We were met by the owners, John and his daughter Abby. Before we even tasted their wines, it was obvious that they both shared an intense level of dedication to their craft. The setting has a country charm that is refreshing after dealing with the pretentiousness of Napa County wineries. Did I mention the wines? Outstanding!!!

John Viszlay, the friendly owner himself :)

The wine is really good. Better than most wineries around here. John is great. You can also paly with Peper or Mr. Jones. You should definitely visit.

Great sit-down wine tasting experience! John, the owner, came out and sat with us and talked about the different wines. He clearly enjoys what he does and has fun talking to his visitors. A lot of great, flavorful stuff. We even got a glass of zin right from the steel barrel. If you're in Healdsburg, definitely check out this winery!

    Beautiful vineyards!

Came here for the Wine & Food Affair event last weekend. We were actually served by the owner, who was very polite and nice. Their vineyard is gorgeous! That is probably the best thing about the winery. We tried several of their wines, but none of them really stood out for me. Usually I'll find at least 1 wine that I like, but unfortunately not this time. I would recommend stopping here for the view of the vineyard and perhaps you may like their wines, as everyone has different tastes and palates.

We visited this winery earlier this week as part of a tour. I absolutely loved tasting the wines while sitting at an outdoor table, surrounded by the vines. In this case, the zinfandel grapes. Our tasting was led by the owner's daughter who has been with the winery for a few months. John, the owner, was wandering around in the background and stopped by to say "hello". This is a very small and unique site and I'm so glad it was included on our tour. It's such a contrast to the bigger, more corporate sites. The wines were all very enjoyable and most people on our tour made purchases.

Owner John Viszlay in the center. Awesome man!

We chose to drop in Marine Layer Wines. The tasting room is located in a very nice area in beautiful downtown Healdsburg across Healdsburg square. Parking is accessible all around the street and Healdsburg square. The modern decor was beautiful and bright. There were plenty of tables and couches to accommodate all different size parties. The vibe was inviting and family friendly. There was a cozy fireplace in the front as well. We ordered a glass of Lyra Pinot Noir and a glass of Aries Chardonnay. My Pinot Noir was smooth while the wifey's Chardonnay was crisp and refreshing. The wine was great quality. Overall we enjoyed our experience at Marine Layer Wines. The staff was nice and helpful. I made reservations for two adults and two young teenagers on a Tuesday morning and were the first guests to arrive that day. We were greeted with a welcome glass and were told they were setting up our table. That gave us enough time to do a couple of selfies and within minutes, we were escorted inside. Season Leef was our host/wine ambassador that morning and we loved her energy, attention to detail and how she treated us like we were members of the MacRostie Winery/family. She was more about understanding our palettes and pouring us what we gravitated towards to showcase the vast portfolio Heidi (winemaker) has been able to produce. Usually not a fan of Chardonnays but it was a neat experience tasting different variables and how each one is slightly different. We know we like Pinot Noirs so when we started diving into the reds, thats when we started figuring out what we liked. Ended up purchasing a bottle of their 2022 Nightwing Vineyard 828 Clone Pinot Noir :chefkiss: My two young teens are used to being at wineries with us so they're pretty good about keeping themselves occupied on their own (even with out devices). But, I really appreciated that Season brought over some paper and a pack of markers for them since they both still like to draw. Plus, we had a couple of good sessions of tic tac toe while we sipped and took our time. We had a great experience here thanks to Season! Seeing that they're dog friendly, we'll bring our 4 legged family member next time.

I forgot the exact experience that we chose, but it was $75 for each with wine and food included. You will get 4 wine tastings, for us it was 2 reds and 2 whites, and a charcuterie plate with cheese, salami, and seasonal fruits and crackers. Wine quality was great. The white wines had a clean and crisp taste with that bright acidity and mineral finish. The reds had a very deep grapefruit aromatic and earthy undertone. After we've done with wine tasting, they gave us a free piece of dark chocolate (super yummy) at the end for palate cleanser. Our server was really knowledgeable and attentive though, so service was nice. Overall a great spot if you stay cool! But okay, few things to watch out for. Make sure you make a reservation in advance cuz they were packed (reservations needed prepayment). Even though we had one, we still had to wait like 20 minutes before our table was ready. Also, definitely ask to sit inside in the summer!! We sat outside and there is no AC, it was so hot we couldn't fully enjoy the graveyard view, it's way too sweaty for the summer.
