This is going to be a very special review. We have been to this winery before during large tasting weekends with there are dozens of people packed into their little space. I remember seeing all of the really cool memorabilia, and the town of Geyserville is a really neat little stop, so we wanted to make sure we got back. Their wine is very solid, drinkable, and reasonably priced. But, what will bring me back again and again are the people. We had a bunch of charcuterie to eat for lunch, and was looking for a place where we could eat it well, and join some wine. We asked the folks here at Mercury if that would be OK and not only did they accommodate us, they brought out silverware and plates. I have never felt so welcomed at a winery and almost felt like family. We will absolutely come back again and again, if for no other reason than to visit with the staff. In all honesty, most wineries certainly do their part to be hospitable, but these folks went way above and beyond, and created an experience for us that simply can't be topped. Well done!

Such a fun and friendly place. The staff were attentive and energetic (your brother did well!) we liked the range of wines we tasted and of course Freddie the dog. Walked away with sparkling wine and port. Located in the cute "downtown" of Geyersville.

The 2016 Zin was absolutely amazing with a special delicacy salad that included toasted pecans, blue cheese, fresh blueberries and a mixture of fresh greens in a honey balsamic vinaigrette. During our shelter in place we are missing fun times in the tasting room with Grady and Freddy. Cheers everyone!!

We visited Mercury this week as our first outing since the pandemic began. It was reassuring to see how carefully they are following the COVID19 safety procedures. Physical distancing, mask wearing, gloves, and disinfecting protocols are all taken very seriously. The back patio (shared with Ramazzotti wines) is comfortable and inviting. We also ordered delicious food from Diavolo next door which transforms a top-notch wine tasting into an Italian lunch experience sure to satisfy even the most critical Northern California foodie! Anna, Grady, and Brad are outstanding hosts--friendly and knowledgeable. And Freddie is the quintessential winery dog greeting customers with a tail wag and soft ears that need to be petted! #sonomastrong

The kindest people with the best wine. If you want to be surrounded by amazing company and truly unique, delicious wine, this is it. The location has a gorgeous view of Alexander Valley from the front, and the tasting room itself is cozy and gorgeous. As new members, we were lucky enough to attend the wine blending party and that is worth its weight in gold for the price of joining the club. So many good memories made in the most beautiful place. You have to visit and join the wine club!

We had a wonderful time this weekend. We came for our anniversary with our dogs and we're looking for a dog friendly winery. Everyone was so kind and friendly and we had such a wonderful time. It was such a relaxing day and we went home with several wines that are delicious! We will definitely come back. Thanks, Mercury!

Happened upon this tasting room on our way to dinner during our first night in Geyserville. We met both the owner and brother who poured for us during our tasting. Great wines and conversation during our time there. Unfortunately we did not see the winery dog, hopefully if we come back through we will The wines are quite good and we picked up several bottles, although I am not sure if any of them will make it back home. Edited to add - None of them did :)

I was staying in Cloverdale and had received wine tasting passes for a lot of the vineyards in Geyserville and Mercury was our second stop. This was my first experience doing winetasting and I really enjoyed myself. Grady I think is what his name was is the person that gave us our wine tasting. He was very informative about the wines, funny and also recommended a few nice places to eat in the area. Freddie (dog) is just as sweet as can be and he laid across my feet like I wasn't there, lol. They're red wine really stood out to me because I ended up buying a bottle of the 1500 and I'm not a red wine person, I'm more of a white, but that's just how amazing of a taste that it was. I highly recommend you try the wine tasting and buy yourself a couple of bottles from here and I assure you that you won't be disappointed.

Wonderful small, privately owned (Brad and Grady) winery in quaint Geyserville. I've gone to tasting and events there abour 4-5 times. The other winery next door adds to the festivities of both places and the backyard is a great place to hang out on warmer days. My favorite is the Big Orange (white) that they specialize in. The whole place, including Freddie the Dog, is dedicated to Freddie Mercury with his records and action figures. The reds are spectacular as are all the wines I've tried here. Service is some of the friendliest I've ever encountered in the original, Northern California, Wine Country. ~Ms. Ali

    Love the Mercury records!

Five stars for Freddie, winery dog extraordinaire!! Also, most of the wines here are delicious. Great vibe and friendly staff, that are more than willing to chat about their winemaking process and the vineyards.

Along highway 1 and not too distant from our little road to Geyserville after our morning checking out the whales.

I don't normally drink wine but came for the olive oil and the experience and it did not disappoint! I also eventually changed my mind that red wine can be good:) We were seated indoors and Edd gave us the rundown of what we'd be tasting for the afternoon complete with stories and lots of fun facts. (I now look at any bottles that say "cold pressed" with some light skepticism since it's clearly only written there for marketing purposes!) We ordered a selection of the panini sandwiches, the burrata and butternut squash salad, and the charcuterie board. The fire cheese was delicious and the spread was perfect. Throughout lunch, Edd brought us different wines to taste and by the end we were most definitely sold on the Stone Soup (the red version). The olive oil tasting was so much fun. First of all the bread was so delicious. And then we tasted about 15 (?) different olive oils or vinegars. The raspberry, lemon, and garlic ones were clear favorites. My personal favorites were the garlic and sage. Even though it was a bit of a rainy & cloudy day, the views from the patio were beautiful. We finished our wine out by the fire pit outside, and now I really need to come back during the summertime when the skies are more clear for the full experience. I left with lots of olive oil and great Christmas gifts for the family. The four piece olive oil sets are perfect for that and I brought one home for my family and we did our own inspired mini taste testing (I still miss Trattore's bread tho). 10/10 recommend and yes I definitely want to come back for the summer views and this pizza oven I keep reading in all the other reviews:))

The restaurant is the building to the left as you enter as well as the museum. We ordered the 3 course menu with wine pairing for what I thought was a great price. I have to say that I thoroughly enjoyed the wine pairings. The crab fritter with caviar: 3.5 stars. It was a fried potato ball with minimal crab. The caviar and accompanying sauce is what made the dish. The mushroom risotto: 3 stars. Perhaps it's because I don't care for risotto - too moist for rice. However the flavor was good, albeit a little salty. The mushroom were cooked for perfection and delicious, wish I had more. The salmon with broccolini:3 stars. cooked to order. I like mine well done due to preventions of parasites. But it was still moist. The accompanying sauce did not help flavor much but I guess I could have put more salt. I really enjoy the veggies in the dish. The broccolini was cooked the way I like and the rings of squash were tender and sweet. The hubby got the beef shoulder for his third course:5 stars. Tender and falls apart much like a pot roast. Flavorful as well. Apple tart and ice cream: 4 stars. I actually enjoyed the dish. Not too sweet. You can taste all the flavors and texture. Over all we had a great time with the wine, food was accompaniment. The museum was fun to stroll thru as well.

Upon arrival, we were immediately greeted by Tilley, a rescued Aussie Cattle Dog. I LOVE that they list her as one of the team members on their website. When I tell you that my friend and I were hooked from beginning to end during our tasting, I am not kidding you. Reece was absolutely phenomenal and so was our entire tasting experience at Zialena. After passing by Zialena several times on my trips to DeLorimier, my friend and I finally decided to check them out for a tasting. You know I have to start off with their estate and grounds. Gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous! I will always be a fan of classic winery setups, BUT... I LOVED the modernized look of Zialena! The exterior of their building alone is so eye catching and unique. And then you walk inside and think, damn this place is so chic and hip! I love the artwork, I love the stylish tables and chairs with the bright orange seat cushions, I love the youthful and fun atmosphere and vibe. It's just wonderful. Those views! I underestimated how great they'd be because you can't see much from the outside. But once you're sitting on their patio, the views seem to be endless. Countless views of the hills and their beautiful vineyards. It helped that it was a stunning day outside too. Reece set us up on their side patio which was glorious. Now about this wine; fan-freakin-tastic! I loved every single wine that I tried. All were scrumptious. I'll get more into the wines in a bit, but first I'm gonna tell you a little bit about what I learned from Reece. Although the actual tasting room is newish, the winery is a fourth generation run operation by the Mazzoni family. The family hails from Italy and they've been harvesting grapes and producing wine for years. The winery is actually named after their Great Aunt Lena (Zia Lena in Italian). Mark and Lisa (sister and brother) are the owners and they also run the winery. Zialena grows grapes for over 90 different varietals and all of them are estate grown! That's right; those vineyards that surround their property are actually their own. They use whole cluster fermentation to produce their wines which basically means that they ferment the grapes with the stems (the stems aren't removed). This allows for more of an elaborate flavor profile in their wines. They also ferment in concrete with the top open. Never really heard of open top fermentation prior to coming here, but it allows for more oxygen to come in contact which helps with faster yeast production amongst other things. Alright, let me take my geeky wine brain hat off for a second. Reece had us completely engaged during this tasting. I literally started taking notes because it was so much interesting information. But those wines, dear GEEZUS! So, so good. Their unique fermentation techniques really paid off because their wines are so rich and complex. We tasted one welcoming white wine (Sauvignon Blanc) and 4 reds which were all incredible. The Cappella Red Blend was to DIE for and undoubtedly my favorite wine of the bunch. The spices were so pronounced but yet the wine went down oh so smooth. Took a bottle of that and I don't think it even lasted a few days. Reece was so knowledgeable and confident. This man probably could have sold us the earth and we would have bought it. Seriously. So engaging and we loved it. But wow, I'm impressed. Zialena is a one of a kind.
