Banshee wines has such beautiful grounds. I loved walking around. I was referred to this winery from wildhaven sonoma and was so happy we went. We had our tasting out on the patio. Our server was very attentive and friendly. We were really hungry and despite not having snacks on the menu, they brought us some. My husband and I visited Banshee Wines in November as a part of the local Wine and Food Affair weekend, our very favorite wine event. When our car dropped us off, the first thing we noticed was the gorgeous view just to the side of the entrance to the tasting room. We took pictures with some of the patrons, as everyone was admiring the view, and wandered in. Actually, all of the decor is amazing. The party room for the wine club looks really cool and is called El Pino Room. They had skull decor everywhere, though some was still there from Halloween, a couple of days prior. The back patio area was extremely beautiful. They had a gas fireplace, comfy seating, and views of the vineyards with rolling hills. We spent time outside with our wine, enjoying the atmosphere, and my husband and I remarked as to how beautiful it was. He then stated what we both felt, "I just wish they were nicer". The person serving in the tasting room was cold and uninterested when we had arrived. He made us feel that we were a chore to deal with when I came with my usual questions about the vineyard and the wines. They also had run out of food for the wine pairing almost an hour before the event was over. However the wine was good. We then came in from the patio and purposefully made an effort to talk to a different person behind the bar. This person was extra friendly and answered all of our questions. He even allowed for some off-the-menu tastes because we were interested. We really enjoyed their Cab Franc, and ended up buying a few bottles. All in all, this place has great wines and a great atmosphere. It is extremely picturesque. Unfortunately, we had a bad first impression, as someone working at a vineyard becomes the face of the vineyard for customers. Luckily, we found a different face of the vinyard for the latter part of our visit and ended up enjoying our time. I have since purchased several more bottles of their delicious wine. read more

What a fun vibe - casual with class. The vineyard view is amazing- caught it at sunset (one of my favorite winery photos this year) included below. Ordered a bottle of rosé for the table and had a relaxed experience. Love their vinyl collection- had a good time sorting thru it and selecting music for the record player that is hooked up to speakers for everyone to enjoy. I went with princes - purple rain. A hip tasting room in downtown Healdsburg that stays open late. I've been a few times for tastings - enjoy their Pinot and Rosé and Mordecai red blend (an easy, everyday wine), and their moderate price points. Also love their interior design: green wall, neon sign, hand chair... Most recently was on the hunt for a magnum bottle for a gift (prior to my other magnum findings). Many tasting rooms in town do not sell magnums, but Banshee does. Score! Gift secured...and gift appreciated! Had a lovely tasting experience here on New Year's Eve. This is a very hip tasting room - neon signs, couch and bench seating, high ceilings, and popular music playing on the record player. You can even choose the next record, like a jukebox. Though they were busy, they made a room for us at their large wood center table. We worked our way through most of the tasting menu, and really enjoyed each of the wines we got. That included a bubbly, a Pinot Noir, and two really delicious Chardonnays. I may be forgetting one or two... You know how it is after wine tasting. I got a bottle to go. Service was great. They were knowledgeable about the wines and checked in on us often. We stopped in at Banshee while staying in the area just to see the vineyard since we had recently tasted a bottle of their Cab back home that we liked. It wasn't busy and the one person there couldn't have been nicer. We didn't have time for a tasting but he gave us a taste of one of their other wines before we left. Another little gem in the heart of wine country. Finishing off on our last tasting, we ended up at this cool tasting room. Right in the heart of Healdsburg and another one of our members perks. Compared to the others wineries we visited earlier, this was a tasting room instead of a winery. Location was great, right in the heart of the town where there plenty of other tasting rooms, boutique shops, restaurants, and so on. There's plenty to do as well. But this place is quite cool. The tasting room isn't big but cozy enough. Cool vintage modern vibe that's oh so chic. They had tables set up outside for tasting. We had Michael who took very good care of us. We had an outstanding experience here. I am a wine fan and my time in Sonoma County is limited. So it was great to taste wines right here in town off the Healdsburg plaza. Aleisha was our hostess and she was terrific. Two choices of flights of 4 pours each, we tried both (spouse, two grown daughters, and me). Every wine was excellent, and the premium flight deserved the extra cost. Aleisha's explanations were spot on and helpful. Great relaxing atmosphere and decor. Stood at the entrance for 15 minutes. Only 3 parties in there and we were never acknowledged by the young man working there. He spent 10 minutes talking to one party. Walked in the back, came out and never even looked at us. He went to another small party and went on about his film career and his sister and several other things. The third party looked at us and one of the gentlemen put his hands in the air as if to say "sorry you are being ignored." We turned around and walked out. Our recent visit just solidified why we became members years ago. Banshee continues to impress! Everything from the wines to the hospitality is top-notch. The staff is incredibly knowledgable and presents wine in an approachable way. The staff treats everyone like old friends and have a way of seamlessly transitioning between guests where everyone feels like they are a VIP no matter how busy the tasting room is at the time. They made our family feel welcome (a party of 2 adults and 2 kids (3 and 1 year old). Not every place would be so accommodating to a family in their tasting room, but staff interacted with our kids and even gave our daughter some crayons and coloring sheets! With so many wineries, how does one choose? We went here based solely on a recommendation from one of the Oregon wine makers we know.... he told us Zack would take good care of us.... that was an understatement! There were four of us in our tasting, we sat in one of the corner couches and waited for Zack. He came over with many bottles of wine for us to try! He also took the time to explain what regions the grapes came from, I like the educational part behind the wines I'm tasting. Too many times, you just get a pour and not much info behind the wine. This was nice! Our tasting proceeded with many, many, many wines... I will say, they are so far the only California wine that can actually make a decent Pinot! Most Cali Pinot's are crap, they should leave that to their Northern sister state! the Mordecai was our favorite! All of us were wow'd over this one, full body blend that could hold up to a burger or steak anytime. The Tina Marie was also my other fav... one of the Pinot's that was decent. We ended up buying many bottles to ship home and joined their wine club! I would recommend these guys to anyone! This place is SO. FREAKIN. COOL. The décor is seriously too cool for you and me but is still not pretentious in any way. There are couches set up in two of the front corners in the room, with a longer dining-table right in the middle and two more smaller tables on the sides. Pro-tip: Call ahead and make a reservation for your tasting. My girlfriend and I were able to snag one of the couch corners right when we arrived. Very cozy. Our wine pourer was extremely attentive despite being only one of two pourers Sunday evening. There are only two flight options available. We ordered one of each so that we could sample all the wines they had. The stand-out for the both of us was definitely the Blakeman Chardonnay. Other ones I enjoyed were the Pinot Noir (which is the only one currently sold in stores) and their red blend. My gf liked the Tina Marie Pinot Noir. Another thing I liked about this tasting room is that if you decide to buy one of wines that you tried as part of the flight, your tasting fee is waived. How cool is that? read more

Though you don't need reservations to taste wine here, you can reserve a date & time, and I highly recommend it. We came here for the first time on our annual day after Thanksgiving wine tasting with a fairly early reservation and maybe 15 minutes or so after we had gotten there the place was jumping with people and was getting pretty busy. The young man that was working the tasting room was very attentive to us, very knowledgeable about the wines he poured, etc. He was very pleasant! The place is very quaint, relaxing, enjoyable! They had music playing and even told us we could pick music from their album collection (and yes I am talking about vinyl records). Some of the wines were a little young but you could cellar it for a few years and they will be excellent. Some people prefer to taste the "best of the best" wines but sometimes it is good to taste younger wines if you want to buy and serve years down the road. Again, I would highly recommend you make reservations for your tasting since this place is very popular. read more

I have to say, some of these reviews about Banshee I find very humorous, as I absolutely love Banshee Wines. So if you've read some of the other reviews, you must be thinking, if this girl loves Banshee she must love being ignored, be a total wine snob, and have a short term memory. Joking aside, here are my thoughts from my experiences: The space: I have been to Banshee a handful of times and the first thing I always notice is the decor. It is this elegant, hip, shabby chic. They have a record player playing some classics as well as some hits. I love the layouts of the tables and couches and the long table in the middle for larger groups. It has a very relaxing vibe. The service: Banshee has a very intimate feel. I like how the staff will come and go during the tasting, sit for awhile to discuss the wines, and then let you be alone with your company to enjoy the wine and relax. Everyone has been friendly, but I also don't feel like they are hovering over me which is a plus. The wine: I have not been able to stop thinking about Tina Marie since my last visit earlier this month. Tina has a very fruity, delicate and feminine taste. The Marine Layer was another very good Pinot. I love their Sauvignon Blanc and Rose which I tasted on my first visit to Banshee last year, but they unfortunately didn't have them yet when I went to the tasting room this last time. The Sauvignon Blanc is bright, crisp, and fruity and the Rose is simply divine, not even close to forgettable. You will have to just taste it for yourself. But get your bottle quick as they seem to sell out fast. I know they did last season. In conclusion: I love wine, but am not a snob, I hate being ignored, but don't like being hovered over, and as much as I loved Tina Marie, I did spit into the bucket (do people know spitting wine is a thing?) My experiences at Banshee have been nothing short of delightful. The decor is not just hip or cool, I find it chic, elegant, and tasteful. The people are great and the wine itself is superb. I look forward to my next trip out to Banshee Wines. read more
