I love DeLorimier! The setting is wine country bucolic. The buildings are sort of California craftsman style and there is beautiful wisteria growing on the trellises. What a hidden gem of a winery, extremely picturesque. I have driven by so many times, but never stopped in. They have tasty bold reds with great deals by the case. Not a pretentious winery, these folks know hospitality! The ladies are so nice and sweet, they will also recommend the best restaurants in town to pair their wines with. Tasted a few weeks ago once patio seating opened back up. We made a reservation in advance and enjoyed a lovely afternoon on the patio under the umbrellas to beat some of the heat. Staff was friendly, wore a mask and didn't hover which was nice to allow us opportunity to relax and not feel pressured on time to sip and go. We tried the tasting flight available as well as the rosè which was new and I had just seen it talked about on their Instagram account. Everything we tried was delicious, we each went home with some wine to enjoy and it was nice to feel some sense of normal for at least a few hours. Of course no inside tasting is available right now but like most restaurants or other establishments you can wear a mask to go inside and use the facilities. This is a crazy time but we are all working through it together. read more

We made an unplanned visit in November 2024 in the midst of the torrential rains after the Russian River had swamped our route out of Napa. I told the host our plight and their colleague emerged from a side room to walk us through an alternate route. We bought a bottle of 2022 River Lane Reserve as a thank-you, which we finally opened today and it is outstanding! What a wonderful, complex and rich Primitivo that will only improve with age. And, the directions to the 101 were spot-on and saved our day! Sincere thanks to the kind folks at deLorimier and compliments on a fantastic bottle of wine. An Alexander Valley beauty! Tucked away in the small town of Geyserville sits the stunning estate of DeLormier Winery. This charming winery is surrounded by beautiful vineyards and the most scenic views of Alexander Valley. We came here during the 2019 Wine and Chili Taste-off and had an absolute blast! We started our tasting in their adorable barrel room. The barrel room is cozy and decorated with the cutest Christmas style string lights. They had an oversized wine bottle filled with corks and a contest to win wine if we were able to guess how many corks were inside of the wine glass. Very fun, and I hope that I win (wink wink)! They were pouring their 2017 Estate Sauvignon Blanc and 2016 Primitivo in the barrel room, both of which were pretty tasty. I was surprised that I actually enjoyed their Sauv Blanc because it's my least favorite kind of white wine. However, this one was light, refreshing, and had minimal oak influence. Next, we made our way into the Club room where David poured us their 2016 Estate Primitivo and their 2016 Reserve Zinfandel. And OMG... that PRIMITIVO! It was sooo delicious!!! My favorite of all the wines that we tried here! It was just scrumptious! A little sweet but really smooth and fruity. I enjoyed it 100%! David was so much fun and we enjoyed learning about the wines from him. We moved on to the tasting bar which was in the main tasting room. Their tasting room is very lively and interactive. It was bustling during the event and we really felt at home there. Hunter was our host at the tasting bar and he was such a hoot! We had so much fun tasting with him! So much personality, and he kept us entertained the entire time that we were there. We tasted their 2015 Artisan Meritage, 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon, and their 2015 Reserve Cab Sauv. The 2015 Cabernet was paired with Donna's ribeye and black bean chili. HOLY MOLYYYY! That chili was DAYUM good! It was the BEST of all that we tried that day! I sure hope that they wine the pairing contest because their wine and Chili pairing was perfect! I loved both Cabernets as they were both pretty smooth which is what I prefer compared to extremely bold and tannic. All in all, we had an excellent experience here! Our group ended up purchasing some bottles of wine to take home. I still can't get over how yummy their Primitivo is! I'm a Wilson Artisan Wines member, so I get benefits at DeLormier! I'm so excited to come back again in the future to taste more of their delicious wines. read more

This winery is a sister winery to one where we belong so we get free tastings when we're in town. We stopped in on a Friday afternoon with two friends of ours and enjoyed a pleasant experience on the back patio. I have always liked their wines, and their tasting experience was fine. It was very crowded on the patio and I felt a little rushed, although I don't think it was any fault of our host. They produce solid wine that is reasonably priced. It is definitely worth stopping by. They seem to have more Cabernets than zinfandels, but both are pretty solid. read more

My fiance and I came here yesterday and were very lucky to have Pete host us. We came an hour and 15 minutes before closing for a tasting and we didn't feel rushed. Beautiful lodging in a beautiful setting. Delicious wine at the DeLorimier winery is a bonus! We have been here three times (during the Winter, Spring and Summer). We never get tired of visiting. Whether it's the new buds of the spring, the lush vines of the summer or the nakedness of winter the vineyards have a special magic and beauty. Likewise the skies of Sonoma County are incredible all year round as well. The night skies are filled with stars. We have stayed in the Mosaic Suite all three times. The room has a extremely comfortable bed. Privacy window shades and gorgeous vineyard views on two sides. The kitchen is sufficient to bring your own breakfast and lunches. Local indoor and patio dining at Diavola Pizzeria is very good. Customer service is top notch. We plan to visit for many years to come. read more

After visiting the Circus that is more often called the Francis Ford Coppola, it was nice to stop in at the deLorimier Winery for a little peace and quiet. It's also a beautiful setting with lush vines surrounding the property and with a nice view into the hills. Founded in 1986 by Al deLorimier, these Alexander Valley vineyards were planted and developed with an eye to producing world-class "Bordeaux" wines including single vineyard designate Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec and their signature Meritage (the hands down favourite in our wine tasting group). Ken and Diane Wilson became the new owners of deLorimier Winery in 2008. The guy pouring the wine was a real hoot, both in terms of his casual but "listen up" wine education approach and his Boston Red Sox pedigree from Upstate New York roots. Later on we bought a couple bottles of wine and enjoyed sitting on the patio, relaxing, and just catching up. It was a gorgeous sunny (but not too hot day) and when Family Fellowship, wine, and scenery come together this way, life truly doesn't get much better than this. read more

This was our first winery to ever visit so before I chose to write a review, the husband and I decided to try a few to have something to compare it to. First, the scenery is beautiful and calming. While we didn't experience the inside, we sat outside which was tranquil and relaxing. Jim guided us through the tasting and he was very knowledgeable and a great host. I drink white wines and my husband drinks reds. I was surprised to find myself enjoying their Cabernets so much. They were truly tasty! I highly recommend anyone wanting an intimate, serene experience to come here. Take a seat outside, take in the beauty nature offers, and get a little buzz as you figure out what you like. We had a wonderful experience tasting on Tuesday. They have a beautiful patio that looks out to a vineyard and the hills beyond. The wines were lovely. Our tasting room was so attentive, answered all our questions, and let us have a few bonus pours too. Did I say the wines were good? So many times tasting there might be some you love, but rare that every single wine you taste you love. We loved everything at de Lorimier. We ended up buying the Primitivo, Petite Sirah,and Preston Cab. Once we left De Lorimer we headed to their family winery, Wilson of Dry Creek, another great choice! read more

This would be a beautiful spot to have a glass on the patio and enjoy the day. The grounds are absolutely beautiful and there is not a sour glass in the bunch. Two of the wine standouts for me were the Sauvignon Blanc and the Barrel Zinfandel. Both were vibrant, fruit forward and had a bit of a bite. The tasting is somewhat pricey, at $20 per person, but the pours were generous and we tried about 8 different wines. They also waive the fee with the purchase of two bottles. On certain days, food pairings are offered and this will be something I will venture out for on another wine excursion day. read more

What a beautiful winery! Why? Friendly service and very welcoming. I had the opportunity to visit them because they were participants of the Barrel Tasting Event with Wine Roads. They had a welcoming dog named Newton that added a fun vibe!!! With one of the reds, they paired it with a lovely in house freshly baked flatbread. We had a lovely time. We love this place and have been wine club members for several years now. They offer a great assortment of reds (Cab, Zin, Primitivo, etc.) as well as some nice Chards too. The cool part of being in the wine club here, is that we also get the benefits of membership at the other Wilson Family Wineries - Wilson, Soda Rock, Mazzocco, St. Anne's Pezzi King, Rockpile, etc. So we get the discounts, free tastings, specials and such at all of them. Awesome! We stopped here as part of our wedding wine tour with a group of about 20. The staff took fantastic care of us. We were scheduled for about an hour and we stayed almost 2 and the staff was with us the entire time. They took us on a tour and even to their private tasting room, where we sample a couple of expensive wines that were not part of the official tasting. We love their Cabs and joined the wine club. In fact, I believe almost everyone in our party bought wine, or joined the club at delorimier. This is the only stop of 5 where this happened. The area they set up for us was fantastic. A nice arbor to diffuse the sunshine as it was a warm May day. They had two tasting table set up which made it great for our guests. Lots of comments from our party about how fun delorimier was to visit. You won't find a friendlier staff at any winery, cudos to their preparation and execution. read more
