While the wines themselves are a bit above my price point, I had to buy the hot pepper bacon jam, Parmesan truffle salt, and truffle cheese. All of those were amazing. If you have not gone to do a tasting here, you are missing out. The grounds are beautiful & relaxing. They have a very The owner Sam was super nice & friendly. Started off our tasting with the Adore rose, then Chantilly chardonnay, then Yoakim zin light, the Entice Cuvee, then Seduce & finished off with some sparkling shiraz. All wines are paired with cheeses and some with sauces that pair well with the wines. It makes a big difference to have them paired. They also do food pairings & even lunches here. DO NOT JOIN THEIR WINE CLUB WITHOUT YOUR ATTORNEY PRESENT !!!! My husband and I go to Napa once a year and enjoy joining a different wine club every year! The wine they sent each shipment is very expensive. They never disclosed that there is a minimum of 4 shipments in order to cancel or you will be charged a $50 fee. I have never experienced this with any other vineyard we visited. read more

Of all the wineries we visited, this was our over all favorite. It's a very small tasting room and they're only open Friday - Sunday so you have to plan accordingly. It's just a husband and wife team with very small production and they run it all! It's pretty remarkable. NO WHITES; ALL REDS! They're all exquisitely crafted too. Very big and very delicious. Virginia has a crockpot of meatballs simmering with a delicious homemade zinfandel sauce to pair with the wine. It's available for purchase (and we did!) as well as their olive oil- but I don't think they do tastings of that. The 2009 Zin is drinking great right now and we all had to purchase a bottle because it was so fantastic. I highly recommend putting Yoakim Bridge on your list of wineries to visit- especially if you're a big red wine lover like we are! read more

We've been in their wine club for years and their bottles are the most difficult to drink - no, not because of a problem with the wine - because David's wine is so amazingly delicious. We just want to lay them down and keep them forever. We usually save our Yoakim wines for big feasts and celebrations because they are such a treat. The zin sauce is a great gift but Virginia has raised the price so I don't buy it as much any more. Michael Talty, their next door neighbor and owner of Talty Vineyards, sent us over here with a glowing review of their Zin sauce and meatballs. Well hell, how could we pass that up? Graduates of the California Culinary Academy, the Zin sauce was indeed great and the wines were even better. I really liked David, the winemaker. He's an extremely funny, down to earth guy. A pleasure to chat with. According to their website their Zin is dry farmed.. and this part makes me laugh "We often walk the vineyard in the extreme heat of the Dry Creek summer and proclaim to them, "You are great and mighty vines! Water is for wimps!!" See! They crack me up. Anyway, the tasting room is intimate and they have a friendly ol bulldog to greet you. We tried several different wines, including 3 Zinfandel, a Merlot, Syrah, Bordeaux Style Blend and Cab. Really great stuff. Pay them a visit. read more

Seriously, I loved the couple who run this vineyard. They were so warm and funny and really made our tasting feel like we'd just come over to visit friends over some wine and food. Virginia had an enrapt audience of about a dozen people listening to stories about her grandchildren, their airstream trailers (which are AWESOME and will be available to rent by by their wine club members soon), how they met, how they miraculously harvested 16 tons of grapes one year when the temp spiked. It was such a nice change of pace. Virginia served us her "cheatin' heart chili" with fresh cilantro, cheese, and tortills chips to pair with the syrah tasting. So cool! Ali ended up signing up for their wine club and B and I picked up a bottle of their cab. We were offered homemade olives and chocolate covered espresso beans and additional tastings while we waited for our wine to be boxed up. So thoughtful! We all left the cute little tasting room with smiles on our faces, vowing to come back. read more

My boyfriend is a member, so on our last Sonoma trip we stopped by to taste what he'd gotten in his most recent shipment. And wow. In addition to the warm, friendly atmosphere (I mean, they served us meatballs while we were there), we had some extremely tasty wine. In particular, the merlot and petit syrah were some of the best I've had in recent memory. Not too terribly pricey, considering the only do reds and are extremely low production (most bottles are mid 30s). If you're in the neighborhood, I highly suggest checking them out. Gorgeous and quaint. The 19th century Farmhouse on this 5 acre vineyard was the original house for what was once a 500 acre farm in northern Sonoma Valley. A true boutique winery, Idyllic scenery and lovely gnarly zin vines. David and Virginia are passionate and gifted wine makers. The wine offers big bang for buck, and the club is a steal on top of already good prices. Zin, syrah, cab and petite syrah. 3000 cases a year is all they produce. We were there days after the fall harvest. David had been crushing away and we got to taste the juice right out of the bins. it really is a 2 person operation. It's great to see. My favorite winery experience, instantly made me a loyal fan of the wine and the makers. Inspirational. read more

One of the few wineries in the region with a tasting fee, you'll have no problem liking something enough (unless you hate perfect Zinfandels) to buy that the fee will get applied to. When we arrived at the winery one Saturday morning, I wondered if we had pulled up the wrong driveway as it was so small. But, it was the right place. A small, right place. The tasting room is one of the smallest, if not the smallest, I have been to. We were met by Virginia, one of the owners. She was delightful and had a great sense of humor. Plus, she had some homemade meatballs to serve with the Zinfandels. She poured 5 wines, all reds. Of which we bought two. Their 01 & 04 Zins. They charge $10/per person for tastings. This gorgeous vineyard is a must on your next trip to Dry Creek. David is a wonderful guy who hosts a great tasting in one of the most gorgeous and intimate tasting rooms of the area. The meatballs they make in their wine reduction sauce is out of this wolds, then again so is the 2002 Syrah and 3 Valley Cuvee! I asked him if I could try the reserve stuff and he kindly insisted that it was for wine club members only and that I should join. I prodded a little more and he kindly pointed out that it would not be fair to his wine club members. He was (of course) completely correct and I respect the hell out of him and this vineyard for that. I will join next year (already joined 3 others this year). read more

We very much enjoyed our tasting at Yoakim - and we very much enjoyed the experience of tasting there as well. First, the wine - it's good stuff. My wife and I aren't wine club people - we find the clubs to be too rigid and generally not aligned with our values - but we gave some serious consideration to theirs. We thought the pricing was reasonable and the quality of the product was certainly there. There really weren't any misses on the tasting menu. And the atmosphere was great. The owner/operator was there and having a great time, along with all her guests. A group of young women were flirting with her son (also behind the counter) and she was eagerly egging them on. She shared some meatballs with the Zin sauce with us (and everyone else) that were pretty good. Everyone was very happy and we felt like a welcomed, if transient guest. She was very knowledgeable about her wine - which is naturally what you want in these situations - and shared her knowledge with us clearly and easily. Caveats: the tasting room is quite small and the parking lot even smaller - though we found spots in both with much of a problem. So all in all, a great place to stop in your Dry Creek adventure; nearly perfect - good wine, good energy, and fun people to taste with. read more

To preface, this is by far the WORST tasting experience I have ever had, and I doubt that I can fully convey the feeling of hostility of the treatment we received. This experience started going wrong from the minute we walked into the tasting room. There were 8 people in our party, though not all of us tasting. Owner David (who was visibly drunk) had a huge problem with the size of our party, and he remarked loudly that we could have at least made an appointment. Fair enough, but how about saying that to us, and not snidely to the pourer? Next, we told him that there were two existing club members, plus more that wanted to sign up, but he did not seem to care about this. Instead he told us raise our hands if we wanted to taste, and made a big show of counting how many wanted to taste and announcing that there was a tasting fee for non-members. He eventually decided that the five of us tasting would be allowed to taste without charge, but at that point we had enough of his belittling comments/treatment, and decided just to leave. In sum, unless you want to be treated like freeloading dirt, consider patronizing one the many high quality neighboring vineyards instead... read more

We barely made it out if the car and she started yelling for us to go away. I can understand that some of the wineries are small and can't accommodate groups. That said, she could have been polite.
