    Hot Dog and Grilled Cheese
    Cara S.

It was so relaxing to order a drink at Barnacle Billy's and look out at the boats coming to and from the ocean. We chose to eat here because of the huge patio, with lots of shade, that overlooks the water. The location is unbeatable, and we did not have to wait for a table on a busy summer day. Our service was also incredibly friendly, from the young men behind the ordering counter, to the waitor who served us our drinks table side. The only reason I am giving this three stars is because the food was just average. We ordered a chowder, a lobster roll, grilled cheese, and a hot dog. The grilled cheese and hotdog were good, but the lobster roll and chowder were just okay for the price. The chowder was a bit watery and not as rich as some of the others that I have had. The lobster roll was a little small and needed to be jazzed up with some more mayo or lettuce. Overall I had a really nice lunch here and would definitely return just for the location and service.

Casual cove side restaurant - beautiful to sit outside and look at boats. Fried shrimp are excellent and the Lobster Sauté with Ritz topping oh my. No shell cracking needed! Excellent service as well. A must in Ogunquit/Perkins Cove and free valet parking.

We stopped at Barnacle Billy's in Perkins Cove, Maine, and had a great experience. I ordered whole belly clams with a baked potato and coleslaw, and my daughter had a grilled chicken salad -both portions were generous and well worth the price. Service was excellent! Our server, Sydney was very friendly, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed. Our food came out quickly and tasted great. The restaurant has plenty of seating both indoors and outdoors. After a long day at the beach, we chose to sit inside and enjoy the AC, which was comfortable and relaxing. Overall, a great stop by the footbridge and we would definitely return.

    View from outside deck!

Food was very good! We had lobster pie, fried shrimp, baked potatoes, salad, Cole slaw with a glass of wine on the deck! Grace, our waitress was friendly and took very good care us! Great place to eat and relax!

What had a wonderful dining experience at Barnacle Billy's. Situated on the water in Perkins Cove it has a very laid back atmosphere. Service was attentive. The rum punch was delicious as were the lobster rolls.

Great local spot in Ogunquit. Service was excellent. This place sits right on the cove with a nice view. We started with their rum punch which was great. I had the lobster roll. Lobster was tender and nice. My wife got the crab roll. It was tasty and came with nice onion rings. My son got the fried chicken sandwich. It was huge and had a great crisp. A must try if you are ever in Perkins cove.

Trey to get a table by the window if you can! Staff is super friendly and there are lots of options for seafood eaters and non seafood eaters.

We came here on a weekend day and were surprised at how busy it was inside. There were a lot of people and parking was difficult but luckily this place has its own lot with a valet staffer who makes money from tips. Comparable parking on a busy day here is $25-30 in various nearby lots, so if you're eating here it makes sense to park. We came as a group of 5 after hearing this place was a good place to get lobster rolls. The market price for one was $38. I think if we could go back we would ask if these lobster rolls were hot or cold, since the ones they serve are cold and not the hot and buttery ones. My partner said that the rolls were actually pretty bland and not worth the price. This place also only serves chips and not fries. I was surprised at the lack of vegetarian options. There were plain and basic salads, garlic bread, and corn. But there was nothing substantive with protein available, which is odd given the amount of vegetarians around these days. Overall, the food was just fine, but it is not what you would expect for food that is more on the expensive side.

    Beautiful View

Great service, amazing food! I got the natural salmon and my husband LOVED the lobster pie. We really enjoyed the outdoor patio. Hardly a wait! Perfectly timed courses. Would recommend! Lots of families dining together.

Views & cocktails... nothing more!!! Been coming to Barnacle Billy's for years. Has a great location with beautiful harbor views and classic New England charm, which definitely adds to the overall experience. The outdoor seating is perfect on a nice day, and the atmosphere is casual and relaxed--great for families or a quick bite after walking around Perkins Cove. That said, the food was extremely underwhelming and lackluster for the price & lacked any sort of quality or finesse. The lobster was fresh, but lacked seasoning & was hardly any of it on the roll. For $32 I was expecting a whole lot more from the coveted ME Lobster. The Clam Chowder was runny & had no creamy texture to it & did not taste fresh. The "Tuna Plate" for $26 was just canned tuna sitting on a bed of lettuce with a side of lettuce "salad". Not at all impressed! One Quick Look behind the counter onto the kitchen, all young kids behind the line with no head chef or anyone overlooking the kitchen. Overall, It's a nice spot if you're looking for the touristy Maine views & cocktails experience, but if you're after something more memorable or refined, there are far better options nearby. Worth a visit for the view and a cold drink, but temper your expectations on the food so you're not disappointed.

    $9 hot fudge sundae

Our family got ice cream tonight at the take out window. Ice cream was good. For the most part, felt like the prices were reasonable for the area. However, I was expecting a little more for a $9 hot fudge sundae.

    Rum Punch

This spot is ONLY for their signature rum punch and outdoor seating with a beautiful view of the harbor. Might actually be the worst seafood in the area. If you want good food that's also cheaper, walk down into the cove and eat at Footbridge Lobster or go over into Ogunquit and eat at Rose Cove or Crooked Pine. Sincerely signed by a local.

Great food. Hamburger was juicy and filling. My husband had the shrimp and he loved his meal too. Service was great too. Our server was super friendly and polite. We sat by the window which we had beautiful views.

It was a bit odd to see 5 vacant tables when the line was 15 people out the door, but okay... again, they must have a system. Order came out shortly, no issues. Food was great! Deducted 1 Star because the bathroom was pretty sub par and didn't have a mirror. Great place to take a break and take in some local seafood in Perkins Cove.

We were sat in a dimly lit corner, which we switched but caused a big ruckus. The front of house staff approached us and actually asked if we had a reservation, and how we got sat there and if we just walked in...it was a tad odd to be questioned but I think it was a miscommunication amongst staff. After that, we settled in, grabbed a drink and ordered some mussels (with cream), two orders of scallops and a blueberry pie for dessert. The mussels were very good, honestly our only critic was more bread! They can always serve more bread with steamed mussels so people can sop up as much liquid as possible! The scallops were definitely the star and I highly recommend them. You get 5 large scallops with a gorgeous crust, soft potatoes all sitting on a delicious corn and bacon sauce. Really, this is a must have when visiting. Last, our blueberry pie was great! Those fresh Maine blueberries were so sweet on the side, it really perked up the dish! Overall we loved the food, but the ambiance suffered from some other guests. There was a large party sat behind us with multiple kids. They scream, they ran around, they threw stuff....and the staff did not seem to care. The family themselves didnt seem to care! They enjoyed their meal and let the kids do their own thing. Once they party got their bill and left, at least 3 tables (including us), all breathed a sigh of relief and we all bonded over the craziness of the last 25 minutes. I wish the staff would've controlled the room a bit more as we know they were fine approaching us about changing seating. But I digress! The food was worth the stop and we would definitely come again!

What we ordered: -Cornbread: 3/5, great portion to share with the table and piping hot which I loved but wish it was moister and had more honey on top. -Caesar salad: 5/5, incredibly fresh, dressing was delicious and evenly spread among the whole salad, fresh anchovies on top were a nice touch -Crabcakes: 4.8/5, only comes with 2 but the cakes were very fresh and flavorful. The corn on top was very boring I wish they spiced it up a bit but it did not take away from the flavor of the cakes so I kept the score high. -Lobster Pappardelle: 5/5, one of my favorite meals we ate on vacation!! Generous lobster portion with perfectly cooked pappardelle in a very tasty sauce. I already miss it and wish I could eat it again. -Braised Short Rib: 3.8/5, beautiful presentation and everything tasted great but very small polenta/carrot portions and I wish the meat was more tender. It wasn't bad, it just didn't blow my socks off. -Espresso crème brûlée: 4.5/5, was the perfect birthday dessert for my boyfriend and he absolutely loved it. Quality espresso flavor, wish it was a little crispier on top. Food was ~4/5 but our overall experience was 5/5. Our server, Pedro, was so friendly and helped us with dish recommendations. We sat at a table by the window on the first floor. We overheard that there is an upstairs bar, not sure if they also seat folks for dinner there. We were able to place an order right after getting settled. We enjoyed the Sun mocktail, charred beet salad, mac and cheese, fried codd sandwich, steak frites, and corn ravioli (without the pancetta). My spouse is gluten free and I am vegetarian so we are always looking for restaurants that can accommodate both. The charred beet salad was good but I think dressed a bit too heavily. I thought the corn ravioli and sun mocktail were both great. The kids (ages 1.5 and 5) liked the Mac and cheese and fried cod sandwich. They did not have any appropriate booster seats for the 1.5 year old so my spouse held him. My spouse loved the steak frites but I think wished had a few more "frites" given the amount of interest from the younger crowd. Our waiter was wonderful and also brought some orange slices from the bar for the kids. We were very grateful. We decided to go nearby for ice cream after dinner, but I heard there is a dessert menu.
