Especially the Rye location! Rye was basically my backyard after living in White Plains for 24 years which is a skip and a hop away. Plus hubs' favorite steakhouse is just a couple streets over. The indoor dining area is big, there's a patio right by the sidewalk, there's a whole covered patio decked out with these Moroccan-style rugs and gorgeous brass mirrors, plus there's another gravel patio off to the side. We went with the bigger covered patio. The menu has a nice mix of Turkish plates, pescatarian options, plus enough for the vegetarians and carnivores too. I mean... everybody's in good hands. I had never been here before, so not only was I looking forward to seeing my friends, but also checking out a spot that was new to me - so off we went. Even though Rye is relatively close to me, it's not my stomping grounds so I'm unfamiliar with the lay of the land. Antique Garage is conveniently located right by the Rye Metro North, so there's a decent amount of parking available (depending on the day of course). There are actually two locations - the one here and the original one in SoHo. As suggested by the name, the decor is very ornate - filled with art and mirrors on the walls, chandeliers, and a general over-the-top aesthetic. It works though, and the layout really adds to the feel; in addition to the main indoor dining area, there's a large patio on the side which provides outdoor seating without being completely in the elements. The menu has Turkish influences. We were there for brunch where the menu consisted of a number of apps, a selection of dips, egg dishes, kebabs, and entrees. We decided to start with drinks - I had the Sassy Sapphire which was quite good. To start, we shared apps - the borek, spicy shrimp, and three dips: tirokafteri, tarama, and tzatziki. The borek was good; I had never had it before, but the menu described it s fried dough rolled with cheese so what's not to love. The spicy shrimp was also pretty good - not the plumpest shrimp, but it had a considerable level of heat which I appreciated. The dips were good, albeit not more noteworthy than ones I've had at other spots; it was served with Turkish pide bread which I thought was a unique touch. For my main I decided on something light-ish and went with the feta omelette. The omelette was fine - not the best one I've had so I wouldn't get it again. It came with sides of greens and fries which were good - the fries especially were a standout as they had that nice crispy exterior mmmm. For dessert we went out of our comfort zone and got the apricots - these were described as being dried, soaked in syrup, and stuffed with clotted cream and walnuts. I appreciated these but I don't think they're for me. I thought the syrup was going to be heavier, and they didn't really seem dried - unless they were VERY reconstituted. Service was good - everyone was friendly and food came out at a good pace. Overall, I had a pleasant experience at Antique Garage. The food was good for the most part, the setting was exquisite, and service was solid. This seems to almost be a sceney place (as sceney as you can be in Rye), or at most a place where Westchester moms go for lunch.
