I made a mistake, I ordered their version of an Italian comb. Okay well mistake no not really. They should put a warning label that reads "only order if you are really really hungry"! Now I did not order the hero, I just ordered on a roll! This thing is huge, it came with its own zip code....okay maybe a bit of an exaggeration but the sandwich was a good size . The combination of meats was also real tasty, the dressing okay oil and vinegar was a good balance as well. The staff behind the counter really know their staff and their customers. Not being a regular there kind of made me jealous of those that are. This could have been a 5 star if the line moved a little quicker. When you have limited time to grab lunch and eat it becomes problematic. Of course it was after the fact that someone informed me I could have ordered on line and just ran in to get it. Located down the block from Rye High School and there is a spacious parking lot. The service is always quick and the employees are always helpful and friendly. I get breakfast here almost everyday for myself and several other guys. The food is always fresh and the sandwiches are delicious. The workers always pick up the phone and our order is made quickly with no mistakes. Organization seems to be a quality a lot of delis are lacking in, but not Jerry's. One of the best things about living on the north side of New York City are institutions like this. Amazing food and friendly service. It's a market so ambiance isn't a thing. If you need a quick lunch when in Rye, NY this is the place. Old school NY style deli. Very different from the Polish, Greek or Caldian delis of my youth in Detroit. The one minor detail that gives this place a four of five stars is the almost obsessive degree to which they clean their flattop griddle. Much like Billy Goat in Chicago IL, this flat top is scraped and cleaned to an almost jewel like shine. What that means is there is no decades long seasoning that builds on the flattop that lends "griddle scrapple" flavor to the food. Go order a griddle sandwich at Plaza in Greenwich, CT or a Cheese Steak from Donkey's in Camden, NJ to see what I mean. My Bacon Egg and Cheese from Jerry's Post Road was a solid B+/A-. The Crown roll was super fresh, but the onions never got sweet caramelized on that clean griddle the egg was cooked hard and the overall presentation was certainly a little too pretty. Like it was a BEC to be used in a marketing pamphlet. Like looking at a photo of a super model in a picture that's been touched up in photoshop. Too expensive. Got breakfast there. The sandwich had a price written on it. Then it was taxed. Then they charge you the credit card fee. Over 8$ for a breakfast sandwich. There are plenty of local places that will provide the same food for 15-20% less. I won't be going back. I also think if you're charging your customers 8$ for an egg sandwich, you can afford not to charge the 3% credit card fee. read more

Awesome deli on Post Rd in Rye! When you drive into the parking lot, your olfactory lobes are already assaulted with the aroma of bacon, so you know it's going to be good! These guys & gals really know how to make a sandwich. I ordered the Balboa ($7), which is Roast Beef & Swiss with garlic dressing on a roll and they do it up right by grilling it up on the flat top grill until that Swiss cheese is oozing out. The only problem I have is that they charge an extra $2 if you get it on a wedge. My buddy ordered the Corned Beef Reuben and it looked really good too. I'll have to come back to try all the other sandwiches and the hot food selections. For a flat $7.95 (+tax), you have your choice of what's cooked up for the day, whether it's sausage & peppers, sliced beef brisket, fried fish fillet, mashed potatoes or fried rice and they will fill up the aluminum pan for you. What's even better is that you bring your food to the separate cashiers to pay, so that the people preparing your food (with gloves on) are not the same people handling your dirty cash (unlike some other delis around here with poorly trained food handlers). read more

Great subs. Murderous lines at lunchtime, but they do their best to move it along. The sandwich menu is gigantic, though if you dont see what you want I'm sure they'll make it for you. So far, I've had the grilled chicken with bacon, spinach and onions and the sausage and peppers and both were quite good. A foot long will set you back about ten bucks. Just had the pleasure of going to the fabled Jerry's Post Road Market. Going in, it was hard to imagine how Jerry's could exceed expectations, but it did by a lot. The staff are all very helpful and the store is open long hours from 6am to 10pm Monday to Saturday, and 6am to 2pm on Sundays. A great local place to food shop. First, we love Jerry's. Been going there since Academy and our HS days. But past two experiences have not been 5 star worthy. We ordered a sandwich and burger to take with us to enjoy across the bridge on a sunny day. We ended up sharing the sandwich because after first bite the burger was basically raw. Tossed it. Other morning the staff behind counter was busy among themselves chatting, girl took our order, we asked for fried ham on roll breakfast sized since we have been asked before do you want breakfast or regular portion ham. Not realizing till we opened it we had been given the regular size one that cost more. Not what we wanted for breakfast. We also ordered a chicken cutlet with smoked Gouda LTM on a roll. Nothing was written down but girl passed order to a young man who said you want smoked Gouda right? Thinking he's just checking which cheese I said yes. Upon opening sandwich at lunch time there was plenty of smoked Gouda but NO chicken cutlet. Again tossed it. read more

Good food, fair prices, and lots of things to buy. I've been coming here since high school for the bacon egg and cheese. I think it's customary for the hs students to get one after a long day of classes. When I graduated, I spent some time away from this place, and it wasn't until last year that I started coming back. My mother got me hooked on their roast beef sandwiches back before I became a vegetarian again. That roast beef is some of the best I've had, and they make it themselves. It's usually on the rarer side and very flavorful. I no longer get the bacon egg and cheese sandwiches here, but I do get egg and cheese sandwiches! Just as yummy. I'm not a fan of the desserts they sell here, and some of the hot food can be hit or miss, depending on your tastes and preferences. There's never a long wait, either to buy food, or to pay. It's also great because if you need to buy more milk or eggs for the house, you can do that while picking up a sandwich. read more

Was in Rye picking up my car and we were hungry, we didnt want to sit down and eat because we were pressed for time, i yelp what was around me and found this deli, i ordered the spicy mexican chicken culet, i think thats what it was called it was delicious. Its grilled chicken with avocado, tomatoes, chippotle sauce and greens. It hit the spot on a roll. They have a small parking lot and its a market also they make a lot of things in house there. Next time i will definitely get some things for home. They do take cards by the way but if you use it they will charge you 4 cents per every dollar, so be aware. Will be back read more

I have been here many times before, with friends, and they have excellent food, including sandwiches, breakfast items, snacks, drinks, and much more. One of the best items is the chicken cutlet on a roll, a favorite with many customers. It is also a family owned business that has been in Rye for many years. I would certainly recommend coming here, it is perfect for a quick breakfast or lunch. The only unfortunate thing- I have seen non-locals been treated with service inferior to locals by the cashiers. A tip- come here at a good time- it is often packed with children from nearby schools and other adults getting lunch. This causes service to slow down due to immense crowds. Great place!!! read more

I have been going to Jerry's for over 20 years and I can't believe it has taken me this long to write a review. In my defense I don't think there was internet back then. This is the best deli in Westchester, hands down. They have the best Bacon Egg and Cheese without question and I recommend having it with their rockin signature chili. It's awesome. - Long live the double egg! It's standard. Sandwiches are fantastic too and if you're lucky you will get to meet all the family who run the place and have ever since the beginning. And just in case you want to kick start that insulin... get the cinnamon donuts on the weekend mornings. They are fresh and will melt your face off... or in my case give me an extra chin...but who's counting? Worth an extra mile on the treadmill absolutely. This place is awesome. read more
