Giannoni's Deli on Garth Rd in Scarsdale is a hidden gem with great food for reasonable prices and old fashioned deli ambience! The owner Scott is charming and helpful. Not fancy, but definitely yummy. I have taken out from there twice and will keep going back, just like the folks who stream through there. Don't miss this great piece of Scarsdale! Simple, with simply amazing food for simply great prices!! read more

Ordered to go. Sandwich came fresh. Good meat. No fresh mozzarella but for $11 that is okay. This is a good sized sandwich. My husband's bread was a little less fresh on his sandwich. True rating is 4.5 but I round up. I would order again. Good value and tasty. read more

Been here a few times and they never disappoint!! The breakfast sandwiches are delicious The regular sandwiches are amazing and the guys behind the counter couldn't be any nicer!! If you are nearby you NEED to make a stop there. You won't regret it! read more

I'm so sorry, but a recent purchase here was terrible. Wedge bread was stale, especially on bottom. It was clearly old, hard. Wet sandwich, overpacked and the mayo was all over the place. Giving it a break for awhile read more

Been going to this place for years. The food is solid not amazing. But it is a good value for the area and is very reliable. My go to deli.

What a cute restaurant this is. My mom and I were super hungry and came across Guannoni's. The sandwiches we had were tasty and seemed fresh! The fries were delicious. The staff were all very friendly. Cozy feeling to this place. Highly recommend. read more

Actually cooking the chicken to begin with would be a good start but as someone who has recommended this deli in the past I'm embarrassed this is really bad The chicken is obviously very undercooked. It seems like it. It was just taken out of the fridge and slapped on a flat top for a few minutes. Never thoroughly cooked in one picture you can even see a green spot which almost looks like mold. very very disappointed will not be getting food from here again. read more

The sandwiches are fresh and tasty, the service is friendly, the prices are good. How can you not like this place? I only wish it were closer to my house, and that parking were easier. It's definitely one of the best places around for a good, quick, casual bite. read more

IG: challengethezagat I rarely give 5 stars. But nonnis is a staple and a legend in Scarsdale. You cannot go wrong their cajun eggplant or cajun chicken sandwiches. Garlic bread is worth it too. This deli has been a family favorite for years, with reasonable prices and a welcoming owner. read more

Giannoni's Deli - Cajun eggplant sandwich - Delis Near Me - Scarsdale, New York

I have been coming to Nonni's for a few years now ever since a dear one introduced me to it. If I lived closer, I'd be here all the time! The best chicken cutlet hero I have ever had anywhere! I always get mine with roasted peppers and mozzarella. What's so phenomenal about it? Firstly, it's generously huge--like three whole cutlets huge--and enough to make two meals. No skimping on the peppers and mozzarella. The cutlets are moist. The price is unbeatable. Where most other delis would charge $14.00 or more for a sandwich this size, Nonni's only asks $8.25. (It's cash only, but there's an ATM if you need it.) I've had the #2 Italian combo as well, and it's also huge (and delicious). The oregano is the added bonus. The owner is a nice guy. A lot of regulars come here. Nonni's might be small inside, but there is indoor seating if you're not ordering on the go. Treat yourself to one hell of a sandwich from Nonni's today!! read more

We love Giannonis!!! Have been a customer since they opened!! Best sandwiches and coffee in town , a real neighborhood business that we love to support read more

Alright, 5 stars isn't just for the dimly lit the restaurants sans the cacophony of thin waiters wearing fully buttoned vests, waxed mustaches and a British-tinged accent. The din of the grill, neighborhood-chef chatter and both adults and children, peppered with an occasional policeman or fireman coming for their trusty eats is the hallmark of this small town favorite. They don't wear those vinyl gloves during prep-- nor should they. It would seem sacrilegious and should you bring that up, expect an aghast look as you would from your dear Granny Rose (yes, the somewhat generously sized hips, thick 1960s glasses, whiskers on her chin, and an apron pulled just a little too tight) if the same rhetorical question was posed to her. The sandwiches are great, the bread is slightly crispy on outside and just the right softness inside. The meats are fresh and savory and the cheeses aromatically fresh, as are the sandwich add-on crispy fresh---none of that chintzy next day brown. My eldest son got the "Brian" which was one of two dozen named sandwiches. It was breaded chicken cutlet with bacon and some sort of barbecue-ish sauce that was out of this world. Likely named for a neighborhood person who ordered the combo often-- and probably is now on his third angioplasty. YUMMY! For me, yep, you guessed it, an uninspiring salad. It's served on a huge platter with cucumbers, tomatoes and dressing on the side with a grilled chicken breast. Uh, yeah, I suppose... et em, yum. Crisp, fresh and tasty as much as a salad could be. That said, served without angioplasty or stents on the side. Alright so I caved and had a bite of the Brian--to die for!! The sort of good eats an incarcerate might order as their last meal before hopping on the box. Once again spellbound by the amazing sandwiches and captivated by the friendly and engaging owner. There is nothing at all not to like. read more

Great food great prices. This is a hidden gem in the North End. The hot and the cold sandwiches are amazing. Can't wait to try more of the menu. read more

Some of the heroes are on a smaller type hero bread. That's my only complaint about this place. But that compliment isn't about value because they are priced more then fair around 8 bucks. They aren't small either just not as big as I want them to be. I want them bigger because they are delicious. I just order two. Problem solved. read more

Still the best chicken cutlets around. They are baked and taste better than anything else. Highly recommend the chicken cutlet roasted peppers honey mustard! read more

The deli has good sandwiches and considering the area are priced fairly. I always stop by for breakfast, I'm never disappointed and the owner is very friendly. read more

Nice friendly awesome menu can't beat the prices, I'll come by and support them every time I'm in the area this place is great.

Ordered eggplant, mozzarella, roasted peppers on a roll today. Was surprised they made the sandwich hot and that there was such little cheese (I also expected fresh mozzarella from an Italian deli) but these were not deal breakers. What WAS seriously disappointing was that the eggplant was actually burned! Not sure how this batch of fried eggplant made it past the garbage. If I lived in the area, I absolutely would have returned this sandwich. read more

Giannoni's Deli - Burned eggplant - Delis Near Me - Scarsdale, New York

For years, friends of mine would tell me about a popular restaurant they referred to as, NONNI'S, that opens at 5:30 in the morning and has the best breakfasts and lunches in the neighborhood. This seemed hard to believe but one day after living in Scarsdale for over 25 years, I walked in and ordered an omelette and while I didn't eat it until I arrived at work, I was impressed, not only by how delicious it was, but also how reasonable it cost. While I'm a slow learner, now I call NONNI's at 914-472-4792 and order wonderful breakfasts and lunches. They have a pretty extensive menu with great sandwiches and salads . I'll place my order, as I'm getting ready to leave for work, so when I drop in, Scott has my order ready. They also have tables so if you don't have to rush off to work, you can enjoy a relaxing meal. read more

I don't even like sandwiches and I love this place. Does that say enough? Wish their space made a bit more sense. Ordering process a little confusing and disorganized. Staff are nice and welcoming. Glad to have a place like this on the street. read more

It is easy to see why Giannoni's has been open for all these years and why it remains a neighborhood institution. The food is terrific, the service is friendly and quick, and they have a good variety. Their Italian heroes are textbook delicious. Grilled chicken sandwiches, with various vegetables (spinach, zucchini, etc.) and cheese are outstanding. The baked goods are great too. These are hard working people who make great stuff, price it fairly, and will keep you coming back. If you haven't been, go; if you haven't been in a while, make a return visit! read more

My all time favorite sandwich place! The chicken sandwiches are phenomenal, as are the veggie hero's, turkey, you name it! Great friendly service for an awesome price. The bread is always perfectly fresh. Pro tips: call ahead and it'll be ready when you get there. And if it's nice outside, bring it to Chase Park or the Edgemont duck pond. read more

Only a heartless, soul-sucking, depraved reprobate would give the hallowed halls of "Nonni's" anything less than 5 stars. While it is true that they raised the prices of some sandwiches by a quarter, we as consumers should feel honored that Scott, mother, and staff should grace us by accepting our flimsy illusion of currency in exchange for their precious sandwiches. If you're a decent human being you will come here, order a Cajun w/ bacon, BCB, or a Charlie, and rejoice in the glory that is Giannoni's. If you're feeling especially cheeky, pick up some curly fries - top notch. Not much seating. But if you're finished get the hell out, especially if you're at the window table. Also I don't know why, but their coffee is the nectar of the gods. Just go, you ingrate. read more

Hands down the best chicken cutlet in NY. I get the spicy cajun chicken cutlet with extra cutlet, with provolone, lettuce, tomato and pickle. Sometimes I get hot sauce or the housemade bbq sauce is also amazing. It's a small spot with a few tables to sit. It's a place you probably wouldn't know if you aren't from Scaresdale. I was introduced to this gem from my boyfriend who grew up in Scaresdale. Thank God!!! I don't even know what life was until I had the sandwich! They also serve breakfast, coffee, stuffed pitas, burgers and a ton of other yummy treats but I just loveeeeee the cutlet. Oh and Scott is always extremely kind! read more

I can't deal with any more of my favs giving way to second rate corporate garbage food outlets ...support mom and pop as much as you can... our health depends on it!!! read more

Great deli food. Randomly stumbled upon this little gem when making a pit stop at the neighboring 7-11. Sandwiches are pretty solid, the owners are super nice and chicken cutlet sandwiches, particularly the Cajun is my favorite. It looks like the recently renovated the place. Did I mention its actually really cheap! read more

OVERRATED. very small location, and they don't all speak 100% english, so if you are asking for something special, ensure they get your order right. The menu is WAY too long. Would take an afternoon to read. Stick to the basics and it is OK, but there must be better in the area. read more

The food is solid and the prices are surprisingly low. The secret is portion size- they don't make giant honking dishes that you can't eat. The portions are actually a size that you can comfortably eat- not cheese-cake-factory-ized. The service is sorta unfriendly and not helpful, but it's fast. The place seems dirty when you come in but i don't think it is. The donuts are very good, but the coffee is watery. Stick to the hero sandwiches. read more

This place makes the best chicken cutlet sandwiches in town. Not sure about the hater who was complaining about people not speaking English.
