I'm in love with this place! I've gone for the past three weekends and I can't wait to try the entire menu board. The people that work there are very impressive, they don't write down anything, but they remember everything perfectly! I've tried the chicken Parmesan wedge, the chicken cutlet wedge with mozzarella and peppers, egg, and cheese on a roll, and my favorite, the patty melt. All of them were delicious, perfectly executed, really tasty. I forgot to take pictures, but I will next time! These guys are really hard-working and create sandwiches that are masterpieces! This review has been a long time coming. I've been going to Anthony's Deli for years and they never disappoint. Excellent sandwiches and HUGE. One Italian combo on a wedge, hero, sub, whatever you want to call it will last you easily two days. That pretty much goes for any of their other sandwiches. This place is the real deal. We came in on a Saturday around noon, which was a rookie mistake to be sure (we tried calling ahead but the line was perpetually busy). The line wrapped around the store. I was worried we'd never eat, but luckily, as I said earlier, this place is the real deal. There's a squad of dudes back there just PUMPING out high-quality, well-designed, gigantic sandwiches. You won't have to wait too long. But while you wait, you need to figure out what to order. The tagline of Anthony's is Home of THE GODFATHER, so definitely rock one of those. It's got enough salami, pepperoni, ham cappicola, proscuitto, mortadella, sopressatta and hot peppers on it to feed my entire family for two meals. That is not an exaggeration. It's served on Arthur Avenue Italian bread, which is what you want to hear. The only thing I'd change is add more oil and vinegar, because for this much meat, you need a little more lubrication. They also crush any sort of chicken cutlet sandwich. The Chubby Chicken is certainly a winner, with bacon, ranch dressing, and cheese...but the Texan is basically the same thing, but with barbecue sauce, so you should probably get both. One of my friends also got a tuna melt, which I think had 4-5 cans worth of tuna on it, if you're looking to reenact a John Mulaney bit. It also looks like the breakfast sandwiches are incredible, and they've got all the drinks, chips, and other snacks you'd ever want along with a sandwich. Two last notes: 1. Their Super Bowl squares are legendary. 2. Whereas many people around the country call a sandwich on a long piece of bread a hero (correct) or a sub (less correct) or a hoagie (not great) or a grinder (no) or a spuckie (absolutely not), here in this narrow sliver of New York it is known as a wedge. Anthony's is a great little local deli which has won multiple "Best of...Westchester" awards the best few years. They serve up some solid sandwiches at a good price and you get a lot for what you pay. My first time ordering here was an Italian Combo on a wedge and the thing was a behemoth. When they handed me the bag with my sandwich inside, I was awestruck by the weight. The awe didn't diminish once I sat down to eat it and unwrapped my sandwich. They load up their sandwiches with the meats and cheese of your choice and their bread is of good quality. The overall taste, too, was on point...so much so that I came back less than a week later to order another Italian Combo, but on a roll this time. Truth be told, the combo on a roll was plenty filling. I couldn't put away all of the wedge, tried as I did. Things to be aware of: 1. There is a long line anywhere from noon to around 1pm most weekdays 2. Their parking lot has room for only a handful of cars (but there is plenty of free street parking available) 3. They accept ONLY CASH - no credit or debit cards A wedge sandwich is probably enough for 2 adults with decent appetites to share. Only those with the largest of appetites can put away an entire wedge by himself/herself. My usual/favorite deli up the road on Halstead Ave. is closed on Mondays so Anthony's is a welcome option and a great one at that. read more

I tried the Triple Play hero today and was not disappointed. Melted American cheese on top of two deep breaded chicken cutlets and a nice dollop of homemade chili. What I really appreciated about this place is how customizable the sandwiches were. I was able to get the turkey, egg, and cheese with hot sauce and a bacon egg and cheese with avocado and hashbrown. Both sandwiches were huge and the Kaiser rolls were so soft. Their fries remind me of the type you'd get at the a fair or boardwalk & would pair incredibly with some salt and vinegar on them. The service was so speedy and everything was packaged well upon arrival. This will definitely be one of my go-tos in Westchester when I'm looking for a mean BEC. read more

There are a lot of sheep in the comments thinking that waiting in line meant great quality. I wish I could give this place negative 3 stars. My first suggestion would be taking names down if you're going to entertain long lines to avoid giving the wrong order. I'm pretty sure I got someone else's poorly constructed sandwich because I got an sausage, egg, and cheese with ketchup which is something I personally would never order (no offense to those who do). The parts that weren't covered in ketchup didn't taste great either. The ketchup helped a little, which isn't a compliment. Normally I do not write bad reviews but I have to look out for my community. I wish I paid more attention to the negative reviews initially but for those that said they do not like black people, that's absolutely correct. I find this fascinating because they don't look like they'd be on the cover of anyone's KKK brochure anytime soon. I swear that when the guys are making a sandwich and slicing the meat on the deli slicer, they either lose count or just don't care how much they pile on the bread. It's funny when someone orders a Godfather, there's 6 kinds of meat (salami, pepperoni, ham capicola, proscuitini, mortadella & soppresetta) that I've counted at least 12 slices of each, plus the provolone & hot peppers. Sometimes they stop after 12 slices, look at it and pile on 3-4 more slices. I don't know why they bother to put lettuce on it just to give a semblance of having a vegetable in there. That sandwich can feed a family of 4 and believe me, I have! On hungry days, I would go for a Chef's Choice (pastrami, turkey, melted swiss cheese & russian dressing) on a wedge and I still have half the sandwich left over. The Chubby Chicken (chicken cutlet, bacon, ranch & cheese) is another heavy duty monster. For a more normal lunch, opt for a roll instead of the wedge/hero/sub/grinder. It will still be packed with meat, but you'll stand a chance of finishing it. One Anthony's sandwich can easily swallow up 2 Subway foot longs! Hungry for breakfast? You can order it all day, but get there in the morning for a Breakfast Barge (3 eggs, cheese, ham, bacon & sausage on a wedge), guaranteed to clog up your arteries and drop you back into bed! They have a small parking lot for 4 cars, so get here early for lunch, otherwise you can park in the street. Even then, the line inside can still go out towards the door, but the guys usually step it up and handle the crowded lunch rush. read more

Hate to write a bad review on this place since my family and I have been going here for years. Seems as if the quality of product has greatly decreased in recent orders. The past 3 times we have called in orders they have been made very wrong and the hero's were made about half the size (which is the reason we drive out of our way to go to Anthony's for the fat hero's they are well known for). Below is a picture of what is supposed to be an "American combo wrap" which only came with cheese. Three stars because service and KINDNESS matters way more than how good your food is. I come here probably every other weekend for breakfast, if not more frequent. I order a turkey egg and cream cheese with hash browns and hot sauce (delicious, get it!!!). Every single time the guy acts like it's crazy and so complicated instead of just writing it down. Sure maybe it's a little different, but what do you care? Write down my order so then you don't have to forget and ask me over and over and be polite. I worked in a busy deli in my teens and was always polite even if customers ordered four slices of ham, two of bologna, etc. Instead of being polite the man chooses to give me an attitude despite how many times I say thank you.
