This is a nice little Italian delicatessen. I found parking across the street and the staff was very welcoming. It's small and their menus are posted on the wall. It a pick up and go kind of place. There is not space to enjoy your meal. They offer hot foods, wraps, salad, paninis and a ton of Italian specialty sandos. I wanted something light since I would be eating dinner shortly after. My daughter takes a class nearby so this was a perfect spot to run out and grab something to nosh while I waited. I opted for a Greek Salad and subbed the mozz for parm instead. I wish I requested a different dressing because all I received was balsamic vinegar without any olive oil and that was a bit too strong for my liking. I also ordered a muffaleta hero because I've been dying to try one. It was OK. I wish they were heavier handed with the olive tapenade. I would definitely order again with more of that yummy olive and maybe some mayo as well. They also have a small amount of Italian products for sale, including truffle oils and preserves. I grabbed a few drinks for the road. The prices were reasonable, considering the location. Its good to know they are close if I'm every feeling peckish. I would visit again. read more

The best sandwich spot in all of Westchester. A true staple of the community. Their service is exceptional and they are open early so that you can grab a sandwich before the morning train. My favorite sandwich they have I created myself. It's called the "sliced edge" it is a healthier version of their famous Cutting Edge sandwich. The sliced edge substitutes the breaded chicken cutlet for grilled chicken and melted mozzarella on a whole wheat panini. It is a bit narrow entering and it is encouraged that you call in your orders ahead of time so that it is ready for you by the time you get there. This place can get very busy at lunch time because most people looking for a good sandwich will come here. read more

Every Christmas my family orders huge platters of Italian food from Buon Amici: the house special chicken, chicken parm, meat lasagna, vegetable lasagna, sautéed greens, salads, antipasto etc. This year, everything was amazing as usual, though the penne vodka did not have enough sauce. It sat pretty much untouched. But all in all, this is my favorite Italian feast Christmas Eve dinner. You can just call ahead, and your order will be ready. After finishing a traumatic kids haircut next door, I thought it'd be a good idea to hit the strategically placed Italian deli next door. With just enough room for the counter and a bit of ordering space, Buon Amici is cozy to say the least. Counter guys were super friendly which is a big plus, especially since Italian delis aren't exactly famous for their niceties. Good to break that stereotype! Got the Michaelangelo which includes proscuitto, fresh mozzarella, tomato and olive oil. I've had a lot of versions of this sandwich, and while not terrible, this was not my favorite. The portion of proscuitto was downright skimpy, the mozzarella might not have been that fresh as it didn't have a ton of flavor, and the bread was pretty average. Tomato and olive oil were good though. Some balsamic vinegar would've salvaged things to a degree, and I'm confused why they don't have that included by default. It was a totally fine sandwich and on the cheaper end for $14, but this could've been much better even for that $. My wife got the mufalata and said it was fine. I'm in the area once in awhile, so will give it another shot at some point. Chicken cutlets looked great. read more

Doing a brisk business despite the pandemic. Both of the guys making sandwiches had their masks below their noses. Disappointing, but people don't care about being inconvenienced. Minus one star. My daughter had the Americano, which she loved. Normally I would have ordered a chicken hero, but i have been eating too much of it. I had the Buon Amici hero. It was enormous- big enough for two. I surrendered after half. It has a ton of cold cuts, cheese and peppers. The bread was not too crusty and not too squishy, just right for a big ass sandwiches. I honestly rate this like a 3.5. The only reason I don't just give it a 3 is because the man at the register is very lovely and kind. He is very genuine and even though it's a small interaction he has so much joy. The chicken cutlet was pretty bland and over priced. I recently attended a function catered by Buon Amici. Westchester has an overwhelming number of Italian restaurants and eateries, and despite being neighbors with NYC I've only found a few of them that truly deliver the goods. The function was small, so I really only sampled their chicken francese, roasted vegetables, and rice balls. Chicken francese is kind of a played out Italian dish - it's almost on the same level as chicken parm. However, I was impressed - it had good flavor and they made the cutlets nice and thin which I appreciated. It also wasn't overly oily which can easily happen with a dish like this. The vegetables had good flavor as well; it mostly contained fibrous veggies like broccoli and cauliflower - but for someone like me who doesn't like the latter I found myself enjoying the entire mix. I've had better rice balls - they were the large kind which is fine but I found them to be a little dry and lacking flavor. Overall Buon Amici has piqued my interest. Reviews on this page are really encouraging and rave about their speciality sandwiches, so I may have to trot over to Scarsdale and check them out in person. read more

This place is and will always be one of my favorites. John and the gang are always welcoming, and do a great job of making quality food. I should really do a review on each of the sandwiches as there so many great ones to choose from. Most of the sandwiches are Panini style, they are not the biggest, but a sandwich will fill up most people. The wraps are also good, and I like the salads as well. To name a few of my favorites in no particular order: Stoli - Chicken parm with vodka sauce. A nice variation of a classic. Get it with prosciutto and you won't be disappointed. Roma - Classic Italian Panini, probably better than what you would find in Italy. Parma - Even more classic than the Roma, for those who truly appreciate parmigiano reggiano. Draft - Pepperoni and chicken cutlet with ranch and caramelized onions. I've never had a combo like that, but it is great. Crazy - Even crazier combination - chicken cutlet, bacon, pastrami, mozzarella, pesto, and hot sauce. Got to try it at least once. Ixtapa - I did save the best for last. This is my hand down favorite. Chicken Cutlet, Bruschetta, Monterey Jack, Avocado, Chipotle Mayo on Jalapeno Popper Roll. This sandwich is unique as the bread is not regular Panini bread. The bread has cheese and jalapenos baked right in. (Tip - you can get that bread with any sandwich if you want to spice things up) This sandwich has so much flavor. It really can't be beat. Get it with bacon or prosciutto and you have yourself a hit. Other things to try are the nutella paninis, with or without cheese. Also have a nutella with cheese and bacon which is good. But if you really want a dessert sandwich get the nutella with walnuts. Its something I made up one day, and eventually John put it on the board. Which leads me to the last reason I love this place. They are always willing to make whatever you want. John is always looking to try something new. If you are ever in the area, you need to make a stop at Buon Amici. The food is 5 stars for a deli. My spawn fancies their sandwiches so I go about once a week. I never tire of their asking for "the Borat" followed by a string of fomites and other inedible, if not repulsive, fare. Like the village idiot, once I asked for it, and I was glared at. I've had salads, sandwiches and a sampling of other sundry gustatory samplings. Awesome! The bread is perfect, the meats seemingly fresh --as compared to freshened up--and the salads more inspired than you might expect. But don't expect to eat too much on site--no seats, zero. There is almost no room to walk. Maybe 2 feet of walk space, maybe. If you can't hand hold your edible and quickly eat it than it's not overly wise to start something you won't be able to finish. It's only a matter of time before someone will try to pass you, and irrespective of it being their girth or yours, expect your toothsome sandwich to unhappily end up on the floor. I had to pull in my stomach and turn side ways to do-si-do past a dawdling patron. So, is it worth the sinewy traverse of the razor thin walk space. Yes. 100%. The food is delectable. 5 stars. I was sent here to get the 007 and it did not disappoint. The bread was great but the real differentiator was the mozzarella. It really changed the whole sandwich. The best deli in all of Westchester and New York. Been coming here for nearly ten years now, starting with lunch runs for their amazing paninis in high school. High school friends and I still always go if we meet up in Scarsdale.. It's just that good that Scarsdale doesn't seem complete without getting a panini there. You can't go wrong with any of them. The owner really cares about the quality of what he's serving -- he even sells top-quality pastas and grains and will happily recommend cool recipes for you to make at home on your own. I have only been here once after wanting to go for years. I pass it most days as I head to the train station but always seem not hungry or in a rush as the opportunity presents itself. After getting an egg sandwich with broccoli rab peppers onions mozi and habanero mayo I understand the crazy. My sandwich did get too soggy but the flavors were undeniably delicious. The ingredients are clearly fresh and homemade. The mozi really stood out as I often find it to be tasteless in America yet this had that delicious swirls flavor. This is by far the best deli I have ever been to. No, it's not a Jewish deli, so don't expect typical Boar's Head sandwiches like turkey breast or roast beef. This place is an ITALIAN deli.
