I stopped here while dropping my daughter off for college orientation and ended up finding an absolute gem. There is a good amount of street parking in the area, and I was lucky enough to grab a spot right out front after the owner moved his own car. The neighborhood itself is quiet, even though the street stays fairly busy. Just keep in mind it is a narrow two way road with parking on both sides, and buses also travel through the area. Walking inside, I immediately noticed how bright, clean, and welcoming the deli was. I was greeted right away by the owner, who was incredibly friendly, funny, accommodating, and genuinely seemed happy to have customers walk through the door. That kind of hospitality sets the tone before you even order. I started with a grilled cheese on white bread, and it was exactly what a great grilled cheese should be. Crispy on the outside, perfectly melted on the inside, and incredibly satisfying. Next came the house made natural cut French fries. These are not frozen fries, so expect to wait about ten minutes while they're made fresh. Trust me, they're worth the wait. Crispy, fresh, and exactly what homemade fries should taste like. The star of the meal was the bacon, egg, and cheese on a hero with black pepper. This sandwich was outstanding. The bread was fresh, airy, soft, and absolutely beautiful. There was so much egg it was practically spilling out both ends of the sandwich. I personally prefer my eggs cooked a little firmer, but that was completely on me because I never asked for them that way. The bacon was cooked perfectly with great flavor, crispness, and no excess grease. You can tell this deli genuinely cares about the food they serve. The quality of the ingredients and the attention to detail really stand out. I also grabbed a bag of chips and a bottled sparkling water, and everything came to about $31. While that may sound a little high for breakfast, considering the quality of the food, the generous portions, and the area, I thought it was completely justified. This is exactly the kind of neighborhood deli you hope to find. Great food, fantastic service, and owners who truly care about their customers. I would absolutely come back, and they earned every bit of this five star review. read more

Good food and service fast and friendly people I have had many or there sandwiches all good and fresh.

Enjoyed a fresh chicken cutlet sandwich from Scaperrottas's Deli for a quick lunch while working in town. The sandwich was large for the price and was made with quality ingredients. Worth mentioning the deli is also extremely clean. Would come back to try some of their other options. read more

Scaperrotta's Deli - Chicken cutlet with mozz, tomato, and balsamic - Delis Near Me - Dobbs Ferry, New York

We stopped by for a sandwich. They were pretty quick and had a few tables so we stayed to finish our sandwich. The serving size was huge. We split one sandwich between two people. We got the grilled chicken with peppers and mozzarella. I felt the chicken was a bit dry and could have used a bit more flavor. They were very friendly and patient while we were being indecisive about our order read more

Good and service is always top drawer And worth a chuckle or two every time Closes at 3 pm and on Sundays read more

Great place. Friendly owner. Best chicken cutlet sandwiches around. And good bread too which can also make or break a sandwich.

First time here - four stars. Bottom line upfront, they make a very tasty sandwich, and are pretty quick about it. It is called a deli and they do have some great looking salads and offer some Boar's Head deli meats, but it is a definite sandwich-forward deli. The menu is pretty big but I believe at least a third of it centers around a variety of chicken cutlet preparations. As an aside, I often wonder why a place doesn't just list sandwich makings and then let people decide what they want, but on second thought, I have to believe if that was actually viable, places like this would go for that. What do I know about the deli sandwich industry. Ok, so I stood back, figured out what I wanted and then went to the counter to order. The lady at the register was talking to some guy and for one moment I got a bit frustrated. I was like, stop with the BS and let's get going here. But then I had a bit of a NY epiphany-this place really doesn't need my business. It is well established and very local. When I got to order, the lady was polite and not at all chatty, and the food was delivered hot and fast. Certainly on my place to eat when I am in the area. read more

The quality of the ingredients is exceptional. His tomatoes ripen in the window - you can tell the owner cares. I have never had a bad sandwich. This man is a sandwich artist. My go to is a cutlet with broccoli rabe, light Mayo and provolone. read more

Great sandwich spot, definitely worth a try if you are in the area; the only down side is this place is extremely popular so at certain times it's packed with people so you will waiting a while for your order....but it's a nice place to wait and the sandwich is worth the wait. read more

Had the pleasure of stopping by recently and ordered turkey on a roll w/ pickles, lettuce, tomatoes, mayo and oil & vinegar. side of colesla. Best roast beef sandwich ever. Fresh, delicious, huge. Can't wait to go back and try everything. Just do it!

Had a catered lunch from here this week and the sandwiches were really great! The chicken cutlet, italian combo, and tuna sandwiches were all delicious and great options. Their lunch boxes come with chips, cookies, and fruit, and make for a great meal. read more

The food is amazing and the workers are great!! The food is fresh and place is nice and clean. I will always visit for food when I'm in town. read more

The food is good and the place has a big following. The prices are reasonable. Cleanliness is the problem, particularly when the wife is at the counter. It's hard to watch her cough and sneeze into her hands, handle garbage and then touch your food without washing her hands. I threw my sandwich out without touching it. I didn't dare complain- the husband is nice, but I wouldn't want to piss him off. read more

THE BEST DELI IN NEW YORK. Maybe the WHOLE EAST COAST. Grew up eating here. Ate through this menu EVERYTHING. Is amazing. This is the deli and chicken cutlets I completely compare EVERY other one to. This place is UNDERRATED. I will always be a fan on Mac and cheese Tuesday/Thursdays(please let me know if this has changed). I look forward to be back around where I grew up and eating here again. I used to come here all the time when I was younger and it was under different management. I was a little worried about messing with nostalgia l by returning and being disappointed. However, I have to tell you this place is just as good as I remember. I ordered and Italian combo and was blown away. Look at this sandwich! My wife ordered a chicken bbq and cheddar sandwich and she loved it! She's a picky eater so that says a lot. The best part of this place is the service. They still make you feel right at home and they call your name when you are ready to pay. Lastly, one of the owners made an ice coffee by accident. She offered it to us and make it clear that she just didn't want it to go to waste. She even customized it for us! Wow! I mean great service, from great people. read more

Scaperrotta's Deli - a picture of a sandwich - Delis Near Me - Dobbs Ferry, New York

Lunch from Scaperrotta's is always a winner. Chicken cutlets perfectly seasoned and cooked, on a roll with mayo - delish! The turkey sandwich - delicious thin sliced turkey on a fresh roll - how can you go wrong! And the tuna salad, the egg salad - always fresh and flavorful. And they do get a line of customers at lunchtime (obviously the reputation earns followers) and they do manage to move it. An excellent choice! read more

Well it's fresh and made to order......slapped together though....I wonder if the owners ever had one of their sandwiches only to have it all slide out onto their lap... Man and woman at the counter/register are just miserable....this is where happiness goes to die folks!!! At least they could smile as they send it in taking $12.00 for a $6.00 sandwich. Like I said.....made fresh, made to order....was quite tasty after I took it off my lap....but the man and woman behind the counter....if they are married to one another they make a great miserable pair....happy happy joy joy! I'd probably return when I am working in the area ... I've tried most in Dobbsferry....and these people seem to rob only half of what the others in town rob you of...and all without a gun.... read more

Got the number 10 chicken cutlet sandwich with added mayo. It was delish! We just moved to Dobbs and will be going again

Best deli around. Fresh, thinly sliced cold cuts and great heavily seeded rolls and wedges. Chicken cutlets are killer good. They do it right, they have quick , diligent service and the guys and gals are slicing cold cuts with each sandwich; it the place to go if you want your cuts laying around. The sides are awesome- try the Mac and cheese. I drive from Tarrytown to Dobbs just to go to this deli even though I've got 3 delis right next door. My favorite sandwich is the Italian Combo. Go get one ! read more

Yelp saves the day again! Had a workshop at Mercy College this morning and wanted a bagel. Drove to this establishment at the recommendations on yelp. I had a bagel with bacon and it was Delicious!! Great choices of snacks as well. Friendly personnel as well! I am absolutely delighted that I stopped in. The gentleman that helped me was kind enough to entertain my questions of the neighborhood and point out the awesome view of the water. When we broke for lunch I told everyone to venture over and they came back pleased! read more

Fresh, delicious sandwiches, made with care. My faves include #46 Eggplant, mozzarella and basil, tuna, chicken salad and ANY chicken cutlet sandwich. Their motto is Bangin' Cutlets, and they mean it. They are perfection: tender and moist, with a perfect crispy outside. Wow! read more

I am from San Diego and came to visit a friend. She took me out telling me about this place and how GOOD the roast beef is.. She's not just bragging.. SHE'S RIGHT!!! I had often watched SNL to see Mike Myers do Coffee Talk and make comments like" it's like buttah".. I now know what that means!! The roast beef was so tender, it actually felt like it melted in my mouth when I bit in to it. All I can say is it sucks that there is NO PLACE in San Diego that can do Scaperrotta's any justice. I cannot wait for my next trip back to NY!!! read more

Frankly, this Deli is one of the best around! Everything is always super flavorful and fresh--you literally cannot go wrong with ordering from here! read more

They make a mean grilled cheese sandwich. My four year old demanded that we go to Scappys for lunch the other day. There was no discussion about it. This kid rules the household. Anyway, we got to sit outside at one of the few tables set up. The place gets pretty busy so there is a bit of a wait on the food. No biggie. Totally worth it. read more

Stopped in for a sandwich and had my socks knocked off my feet. I know you're thinking it's just a sandwich, but let me tell you, no it wasn't!! I'm from the bx and Arthur Ave has spoiled me. The bread, oh my the bread, it was perfection!! I could tell it was super fresh. And the wonderful man gave me a pickle which was YUGE btw and it had a CRUNCH!! It's always so good to find a good crunch. I love this place and will be making the drive to get more when ever I have my cravings. Best deli in Westchester! Cutlets, chicken salad and homemade roast beef are the best around.

We live very close, so it was by chance we found this gem. Definitely come here for their chicken sandwiches- there are a ton of options to choose from. I've had the roast beef sandwich, and it was a hearty portion. I highly recommend this place. Try to come before lunch time to beat the line, but if you do come around 12, the line passes rather quickly. read more
