I absolutely love this place. Every time I come to NY I want a bagel and a Boston Crème donut. The donuts are so very fresh. Today I bought donuts for all of us. Boston Crème, chocolate glazed, and strawberry frosted. Parking is awful to no fault of their. There is always a line but they move pretty quickly. The food is always worth the wait. read more

Bagels were good but the service was terrible. I decided to try this place because I heard their bagels were good. I went to pick up an order that I placed online. The women at the counter had trouble finding my order so they got someone from the back to come out. This woman was VERY rude. No smile, looking very unhappy...Instead of asking nicely or even in a regular voice, she yelled at me asking for my name. They found the order in a bag on the floor behind the counter. She just pointed to it and walked away. There are other bagels places that are just as good if not better with much better service. I hope the owners of the business read the reviews so they can train their employees better. read more

Service needs to improve, no reason to roll eyes if someone adds something to their order. Nothing is being given for free everything is being paid for so everyone should be respected as such. I bring down their bagels to my friend in Florida when I come visit her because she misses NY bagels. My favorite bagels are their cheddar and their blueberry. But honestly every bagel is so good. I love their veggie cream cheese and their jalapeño. Try the jalapeño cream cheese with the cheddar bagel. It's delicious ! Unfortunately the customer service here can be very rude at times - so much so we stopped going because of this reason. While it pains me to give a bad review to a local small business, I hope that in doing so they will realize they need to do a better job. We started going to The Shop Ardsley instead. Sunshine Bagel is an Ardsley institution. An icon for the last 25 years. And conveniently located right on Saw Mill River Rd with an ample diagonal parking lot and street parking also. I'd love to eat a good bagel everyday, but between the carb intake in just one- and feeling guilty later- I put it off to once a month. All I've ordered since ditching dairy- is a toasted $1.60 Plain bagel with nothing on it. I'm really not sure if they boil their bagels before baking. But I'm gonna bet my bottom dollar that Sunshine Bagel makes their own stuff and hand rolled daily because they're as fresh as they come! Even my plain toasted bagel- had the perfect golden and toasty touches, had a good crispy crust and was chewy with just the right amount of pull. Worth mentioning: even with their flat top griddle at the front of the house for egg/bagel sandwiches, ventilation system is good. And if eggs aren't your thing, choose between the different Cream Cheese flavors. I really haven't dug deep into their menu- but I'm sure you can add your schmear with lox or any other spread and take yourself to bagel paradise. Not in a bagel mood and still want to carb up? There are Croissants filled with Strawberry (not sure if they're fresh Strawberries, Jam or something else) and a few other pastries. Went here to try a new place, hopeful to find a new gem. It was promising as we got there and there was a line out the door. We started with the donuts. They were fresh and pretty good. No real complaint about the donuts. I wasn't in the mood for a bagel so I got bacon and eggs. They were overcooked to all hell. I asked for scrambled eggs and I got this empty omelette egg foo young rubber prop. The bacon was cooked of any flavor. Stiff and flavorless. The bagel was described by husband as 1.5 out of 5. Not the best. Very busy in there too. Won't be back unfortunately. read more

We have only ordered delivery via services from Sunshine Bagel and Donuts, but it is a favorite in our house. Orders always accurate, yummy bagels but (online at least) there are just the basics plus rainbow (I'm not a fan of any rainbow bagel too much dye) and their insanely delicious cheddar bagel. We usually order breakfast. It's always cooked to perfection and hot. The donuts are old school and delish. Thankful for Sunshine! read more

I purchased a "too good to go" for my 2nd time ever today to this place. Pick up was 3:30-3:55pm. They close at 4pm. I got there at 3:59pm as there was a ton of, unexpected to me, traffic. I ran and they were already lights out and closed. There may have been a brown bag that looked like it could've been for me. But this place seems to play no game when closing. This spot call my attention when I got a coffee in Starbucks in front, the place is pretty small, a bit pricey, and the feed that they want to charge 0.50 dollars If you do not spend more than 10 is a little ridiculous, we are in 2017, a lot of people doesn't have cash in their pockets. The line is a bit long, and I notice that the flow of person is very concurrent. So, I assume they are delicious and well-known. This is the first time I saw the rainbow bagel in a spot in Westchester. I Did not hesitate to order it, to accompany my bagel I order it that came toasted and with cream cheese, but to my surprise, it was not well toasted, although the filling of cream cheese was a lot, and the taste was good but eating the rainbow colors bagel made me question did they use food coloring on the dough. Friends took me to Sunshine Bagels. This store is popular; the line of eager customers placing orders never let up while I was there. Even with the morning bustle, Sunshine manages to be a spot where one can gather their bearings, even the cash-deficient (there's an ATM inside). An egg, ham, and Swiss cheese sammich hit the spot, but the highlight of my visit was their cinnamon raisin bagel. Toasted to perfection, with a hint of sweetness, it was topped with a surprisingly wonderful walnut raisin spread - I happily got boxes to go. An Ardsley landmark, Sunshine makes great bagels, and as a former bagel baker, I speak from experience. Their bagel recipe is on point with enough gluten to create a soft chewy inside and a crusty outside. I appreciate the fact that they make mini bagels for folks who want to restrict calories and carbs while getting a bagel that, let's face it, enough. I've actually had Sunshine Bagel on my bookmark list for sometime since I've started working in the area. Then one day, a parent from work brought it in for all the teachers and staff. And my this was the most mouthwatering best tasting donut holes I have ever had! I asked the parent where she had gotten it and mentioned it was from Sunshine Bagel not realizing I had already been eyeing this place. She knew how much I loved it so brought a dozen donuts to school. The store front looks like a regular bagel/deli shop but the donuts are pretty damn bomb. I've been hearing about Sunshine Bagel for years. Unfortunately, their bagels don't live up to the hype. On the positive sides the bagels have a somewhat crackly, shiny exterior; the flavor is good; and their coatings seem fresh and adhere to the bagel pretty well. But their bagels are extremely soft and lack the chewy density that makes a great bagel great. I was kind of shocked at how bready and smushy these bagels are. The whitefish salad was quite salty too. That's another barometer for me. The staff was very nice and efficient. I called ahead of time to place my order, then just walked straight in to pick it up and pay. I was able to avoid standing in the long line in the front of the store. read more

Very unassuming and also has tasty donuts and iced coffee as well as good egg salad. Unfortunately I can't have dairy anymore, so only I husband got a bagel sandwich when we went this wknd. I got an untoasted cinnamon raisin bagel and ate it out of the bag with nothing on it, and it was SO good plain. It was almost melt in-the-mouth which is unheard of for a bagel.
