Who doesn't love a warm fresh donut?! This duck donuts is smacked down in the middle of a shopping mall so after shopping till I drop this was a great pick me up. Their menu is vast and makes it so hard to choose so I recommend taking a menu with you to study! I happened to come in on a Thursday and there was a special for a dozen donuts for 20$. I am not sure if this is something they always do on Thursdays but I definitely got lucky as their donuts can be quite pricey. For the dozen donuts I got a Sand Dollar, Sunrise, Lemon Streusel, Strawberry Shortcake, French Toast, Strawberry Matcha, Cookie Crumble, PB & J and Blueberry Streusel. Had to get 2 of some of them to share. The donuts are made fresh and then decorated all right in front of you. I will say they are verrryyyyy sweet and decadent. Donuts made to order... does it get any better?? Truly dropped in the fryer right in front of you, then they add all the toppings. Delicious soft, airy but not too airy, pancake-like dough. Just right. You can select a creation from their menu or make your own! I got the Chocolate Explosion & French Toast donuts with a cold brew, and it was delightful. The service was very friendly. I had heard good things but I had to see for myself. I walked in mid-day on a Monday and it was empty. I spent at least ten minutes looking at photos (shared below) and menus because I couldn't believe how many varieties they offered. The girl behind the counter was very helpful and friendly and offered up her own suggestions. I was kinda shocked they hand-craft each donut individually and even though I felt bad about ordering 12 DIFFERENT DONUTS, I figured it was a slow day so why not? The donuts literally come out so fresh, soft, and warm that you might be tempted to eat (or at least, sample) most of them before you even get out the door! My personal favorites were the ones with apple toppings (caramel apple, cinnamon apple, etc.). Some of the more interesting flavors were the PB&J (raspberry jelly/topping), Oreo, and S'Mores. When I eat donuts at a place as good as Duck, I honestly wonder how a place like Dunkin can even stay in business. I mean if you were to rank donuts on a scale of 1-10, DD would be a 2 or 3 and Duck would merit a 9 or 10. If you've ever had the pleasure of eating a freshly made, handcrafted donut (for example at places like Fractured Prune at the DE/MD shore), you know the deal. I've heard of duck donuts for a few years, but never experienced it until now. This is a chain that started in North Carolina, I believe. I didn't know what to expect so I couldn't really call ahead for an order to bring to a meeting. There are different themed boxes and the one that caught my eye was the breakfast box. The donuts are served up hot right out of a fryer and custom, hand-made based on flavor, this particular box had maple bacon, peanut butter, french toast, apple crisp, and a few other flavors that I can't recall. While I didn't actually eat any of the donuts, everyone was happy. Duck Donuts staff was very nice and did a wonderful job preparing my dozen. read more

My brother advised me to try these delicious and cakey soft donuts. There are so many varieties to choose from, but you can also create your own. It's the first "Donut Sundae" bar I've experienced. My daughter loves sweets so she was in heaven. We ordered a breakfast box variety, an iced caramel latte, and a mango strawberry lemonade. The service was as pleasant as sitting in the park on a beautiful day and enjoying ice cream... which they also have to create donut topped sundaes and milkshakes, which will be next on the list of our return! In the arena of high-end donuts where you have the likes of Doughnut Project, Doughnut Plant, and Pies 'n' Thighs in the city -- Duck Donuts is the aesthetic younger brother that does fairly classic and predictable flavors like maple bacon, chocolate, coffee, and blueberry with a mountain of sugar, on sugar, dressed with sugar, and a bit more sugar for added measure. The place was very quiet around 11am (Wednesday). They offer a breakfast sandwich with medium coffee as a special and I ordered. Honestly, I did not enjoy the sandwich and will continue to get breakfast sandwiches at a deli. They have the option to make a sandwich on a bagel, croissant or donut. I opted for a croissant and wasn't aware they will toast. Usually they will ask but they didn't. Croissant was dry and hard to eat as a sandwich because it was over toasted. Coffee was regular, nothing special. Even the price for a special was not a great deal ($6.50 paying with credit card, close or more which I pay in a deli regularly). The positive side of my visit was that after I checked in (Yelp), I received an option of a free medium coffee or donut. I chose a blueberry pancake donut, and again it was okay. I was more curious to try the donuts but I was not impressed with the one I tried. In the future, if I am close by the place I may give another try. read more

Kids loved the rubber ducky decorations lining the plexiglass! They apparently sell some paraphernalia at the store. I didn't inquire to the prices. I like how the donuts are freshly made to order. Everything was warm - you can see the whole process of the donuts cooking in the back and them getting iced/decorated. You can also order ahead online for pickup. We got the following donuts: 1. Strawberry Confetti 2. Cookies & Cream 3. Peanut Butter Paradise 4. Chocolate Caramel Crunch 5. Maple Bacon 6. Coconut Island Bliss I would say PB Paradise and Coconut Island Bliss were my top ones. The donuts are on the sweet side with all the toppings, though. The PB icing is on the more mild side since it's cut by the slight saltiness. I really liked the coconut and peanut from the coconut island bliss (also less sweet since no caramel) over the caramel-peanut combo in the chocolate caramel crunch. I'd like to go back and try Blueberry Lemonade (doesn't sound as sweet) and Pina Colada. Absolutely delicious and creative donuts! The online ordering app is very easy to use and service is fast. I placed an order for pickup on a Saturday morning and it was ready within 30 minutes. Although there was a line of people waiting to order at the counter when I walked in, there was a separate area for pickup near the door where someone attended to me promptly. We ordered a variety of different donuts to try, including some of their special/seasonal creations, and we loved all of them. The dough was soft on the inside, but crispy on the outside, and the flavors of the toppings were rich and decadent. For my son's first birthday, I had forgotten to get donuts and ordered the cotton candy dozen. The price is a bit high but they are fresh donuts and they're great quality so I can't complain. I was visiting my daughter and she mentioned Duck Donuts and how delicious they were. She made no mention of where they were located so I just filed it in my mind for future reference. We left and on our way to pick up daughter #2, we decided to make a stop in what I always thought was Greenburgh. Imagine my surprise when we pull in to the shopping center and staring us in the face is Duck Donuts. So naturally we had to stop. I ended up ordering 3 donuts, which were done super fast. Unfortunately, I didn't grab any napkins so we had to wait until we got home to indulge. They were still soft and slightly above room temperature. They were good, I'll say that. If you haven't been there before, all the donuts are made from the same base with toppings added on. So after tasting all three, I can say they are good but I don't know if great is a word I would use. Perhaps if I had eaten them hot. Maybe I'm just a fan of the flavors in the donut, not just on top. Either way, I'll probably stop by again. read more

The worst. It's a great idea in theory. Reality? Not so much. I took home half a dozen. First thing I noticed. The service. The person in front of me asked if this was part of a chain and how many locations they had. The worker had no idea. Does it matter? I think so. It's part of the experience. So, they pretty much make one type of donut then dress it up the way you want. The idea is they have a machine that pushes out fresh hot donuts, then they're topped by the staff. I will admit I didn't scoff down my donut right there, but at home it already tasted stale. The toppings definitely did. What's not to like? Fresh, hot donuts made to order, chocolate, vanilla, fruit flavors, etc. A single donut will cost you $2.75, compared to a single donut at Dunkin' Donuts, which is $2.09. Not much of a difference in price, but a huge difference in the experience. The two young ladies working that day were pleasant and helpful. I loved the chocolate covered, while the glazed and the raspberry were good but nothing that would excite me. It's a matter of taste.
