The place looks like an old school donut shop inside and the owners were so incredibly nice! You walk in and it smells like fresh baked goodies. With one bite of their traditional and well executed donuts, this place instantly became a new favorite donut spot for me mainly because of their INCREDIBLE glazed croissant! It's fluffy, it's sweet, it's not like any other donut shops croissant donuts I've had and most importantly it's incredibly fresh! I could eat ten of these in one sitting and not Care! And my opinion isn't the only one I got on these, I brought these donuts to a work event and my coworker said the glazed croissant was absolutely AWESOME! I could not agree more! I got a dozen donuts as well and the owners threw in a bunch of donut holes at no cost which was so nice. I will definitely be frequenting here and you should too!

A friend kept telling me that their donut holes here are so good, so I finally decided to check them out. I mean, how good could donut holes be, right? Turns out, my friend was totally right. The donut holes here were so good! Airy, light, fluffy, and not too heavy and not too sweet! I think we ended up eating at least 2 dozen each. What? They were small! :) This is a very simple, no frills donut shop with some seating. It seems like a lot of people choose to stop by and get everything to go. I have to back and try some of their other donuts, which they were freshly making constantly when I stopped by in the morning. Especially the donut holes had to constantly be replenished. This seems like a local favorite and I saw a few loyal regular customers stopping by and ordering their usual and the lady working knew right away what they wanted. As I also post pictures of their menu, it seems like the latest one is from 2021 and they haven't raised their prices too much despite how inflation is affecting a lot of businesses. You should definitely stop by if you are in the area and grab a few donuts and a lot of donut holes (especially if you have to share with someone else)!

Hidden gem, with really good donuts and decent coffee. The donuts are not overly sweet, which makes them really tasty. The owner was very nice and pleasant, he gave a couple of munchkins for free to try, which was nice. Quaint place with plenty of seating. We will definitely be back to try more delicious donuts.

Can't wait to come back!!! The glazed donut and glazed croissant were the best Ive ever had. It's a cozy little shop and very unassuming but the man behind the counter is very sweet and gave us free munchkins. Looking forward to our next visit.

I came in Friday evening and got a few donuts to take home. These are some of the best donuts I've ever had! I'll definitely be back soon! Excited to try more flavors!

Fresh, great tasting donuts! Clean eatery and friendly staff. The donuts look like the Dunkin' Donuts variety but instead are homemade, gourmet version. The eclairs are filled when you order them, no soggy eclairs for sure! And she threw in a complimentary handful of munchkins with the half dozen I ordered. Check out the Doughnut King when you're in the area. Good coffee as well.

Great little local donut boutique. Many seem to be popping up all over Bergen County and so I wasn't in a rush to try this place out. Finally got the chance to during quarantine (was able to just walk in and get what I wanted easily) and it did not disappoint. I specifically came for the croissant donuts (their response to the famed cronut) and it is seriously the best knock off I have ever had. Donut King took their own spin on the famed Dominique Ansel cronut and instead of making their croissant donut shaped and then fried and glazed like a donut (like every other place) they kept it in the croissant form, fried it, and then glazed it up. They were so light and airy - think Krispy Kreme, but in croissant donut form. So good! I heard that they sell out by the afternoon, so if you're interested, make sure you come in the morning. Definitely a place to stop by if you want good donuts that aren't from a chain store. I am looking forward to trying their other donut styles and flavors!

Croissant donuts, glazed, dark chocolate, and of course, their famous mini donuts that they toss on for free with your purchase!

We love this donut shop. Donuts--made fresh, light and fluffy, so light (lighter than Krispy Kreme) I can probably eat half a dozen donuts in one sitting. It's hard to just stop at two! Coffee, smooth and strong. Highly recommend it. Support local!

Had an early Valentine's Day dinner with the wife the day before Valentine's Day. Brasserie Memere…read moreis an upscale French restaurant located in the Target plaza of Closter. The lighting is dim, the ambiance is intimate, and it looks romantic. I had made reservations so we were seated immediately. It's funny to note that the place settings were placed next to each other instead of across from each other at a four person table. We usually prefer to face each other, but when it's Valentine's day why not be cute? We ordered a few drinks during our dinner, the Sugar Plum Fairy, Memere 75, Avion en papier. My favorite was definitely the Avion en papier which had a slightly sweet, slightly bitter, citrusy taste. They had a pre fixe menu for Valentine's Day which unfortunately did not have the steak tartare i was interested in trying. But for $88, you get 3 courses: an appetizer, entree, and dessert. For our appetizers, we got the TARTARE DE THON (tuna tartare) and COCKTAIL DE CREVETTES GEANTES (shirmp cocktail). Between the two, i preferred the tuna tartare. The shrimp cocktail was good, but the only thing really special about it was the massive size of the shrimp and the freshly grated horseradish in the cocktail sauce. For our entrees, we got the CASSOULET DE CANARD and FILET MIGNON. The extremely tender duck leg confit was served with pancetta, white beans, toulouse sausage, and foie gras breadcrumb. It was rich, savory, fatty, and filling. All great words to describe food. The duck leg confit reminded me a little bit of a smoked turkey leg with the red coloring and shreddable texture. The filet mignon was served with pomme purée, wild mushrooms, and a bordelaise sauce. The filet was cooked medium rare as requested, but a bit under salted. The pomme purée aka mashed potatoes tasted like it was 50% butter so it was obviously delicious. Dessert was good, but my least favorite part of the meal. We got the TAHITIAN VANILLA CRÈME BRÛLÉE and the VALRHONA CHOCOLAT POT AU CRÈME. Both were very sweet. The brûlée crust did not shatter well, but it otherwise had a nice creamy texture. The chocolate pot was covered in flaky feuilletine which gave a nice contrast to the creamy chocolate, but my wife found the brandied cherries overpowering. The cherries made me think of German chocolate cake. Service was excellent. Staff was quick to refill water and checked on us constantly. Pace of the meal was relaxed and I'd even say they were slow to bring us the check since we had been dining for over 2 hours. My wife wants me to bring her back for their bottomless brunch on a Sunday so I will eventually be back.

Steaks were cooked to desired temp and the sprouts were grilled. We were a party of 13 and we found a table that sat us comfortably. We didn't feel rush. The vibe was friendly. Would recommend !

I really wanted to enjoy the place, as I've had other friends frequent it. From the inception of the restaurant, they've had "pastrami" as the highlight. I really wanted that. They didn't have it. I told them the rest of my family's order and to come back afterwards so I can find something else. Decided on some chili as it was a cold day. They didn't have that either. I gave up and just didn't order anything for myself. Every thing came out bland. We didn't ask for no salt or lower sodium. Either way the cute little salt shaker visited a lot. At the price point that they have, I really was expecting something. The disco fries were scarce. I can basically count how many there were. As well as not knowing what kind of gravy it included on the side. The chicken tenders were bland, but at least the chicken was tender and the coating was crispy. Strawberry pancakes were fluffy and good on the first bite, but if left cold, it just became hard. The strawberry butter was a really nice touch and I enjoyed it. Too much strawberry for me, but will not lower the score for that. That's just my preference of taste. The mac and cheese was soupy and not thick, and again no seasoning. Cheeseburger was okay, didn't wow us. Also could not figure out if it was house made or not. It was lean, somewhat juicy, but it was a little tough. Wasn't horrible. What I found interesting was with the amount of fries that came with our order, they all came out differently. The disco fries were crispy, fries that came with the mac and cheese were over done, and the cheeseburger fries were a mixture of crispy, soggy and overdone. But one commonality with all the fries was how bland it was. Anyway, between the pricing and not having two things that I ordered, was just enough to put me in a sour mood.

The homerun of a sandwich is the Bun Jovi which is a honey Sriracha chicken schnitzel slathered with swiss cheese, pickles, pastrami, and coleslaw. And this dream of a sandwich delivers. The blue seating booths make the diner fun , with high backs they provide comfort and some privacy to your conversations.
