This is the second review that I've written recently where I have to lead with the temperature inside the establishment. It was a brutally cold morning. I quickly scurried from my car to the warmth of Gino's...opps maybe not. It wasn't much warmer inside. There was quite a line inside, which I took as a good sign - it wasn't. It's simply a representation that there doesn't seem to be much of a system, just a lot of people running around, seemingly working hard but not efficiently...and for all of their running around, even they're freezing too. Everyone working there was bundled up. After waiting close to 5 minutes someone took my order - a buttered bagel. That's it. You'd think the person taking the order would simply butter it and I'd be on my wait. Nope, it got handed off for someone else to do it - after they finish the orders they're already working on. 7 minutes pass, still waiting on a buttered bagel. They place is quite busy so my frustration is rivaled with my expectation that they must have some amazing bagels - why else would this many people be putting up with such crappy services. At this point I'm almost 15 minutes in. It's been such a waste of time that I figure adding home fries will make me feel like it was worth while. NOPE. I'm starving, so I dig as soon as I get in my car. The bagel is nothing special and the home fries are lacking any kind of flavor. No pepper, no onions, nothing. And of all the insults (the long wait, the plain tasting food, the prices being way too high for what you get)...all of that in the mix, and the worst part - the fact that it was freaking FREEZING the whole time I wasn't my morning in there. Used to be a part of my morning routine on the regular, would stop in here every other day, usually every weekend too. Had been coming since they first opened many years ago. But over the years their standards have dropped and most importantly the service. Gone are the friendly smiles or welcoming. It's a constant dismissive attitude and I always feel like I am bothering them...by giving them my hard earned money. i would've given this a 5 as 5/7 times it's a good experience, however there is one employee who consistently gives me horrible service. he makes me wait extra, gives a considerably low amount of cream cheese and always makes my coffee order to how he'd want it and then today he charged me a dollar extra when prices seemed to not change for anyone else. i don't know if it's because he thinks it's wrong for a man to get a pink bagel topping but i notice it everytime i'm there and will no longer be giving them my business. will absolutely drive the extra mile to goldberg bagels up the road where they respect their customers read more

I've gotten the egg platter here before and the eggs are usually cooked perfectly, but this is what they gave me when I ordered them over easy today. Who would eat eggs like this? I ordered a Ham,Egg & Cheese on an Onion bagel w/Salt,Pepper, Ketchup - I specifically asked that they fry the ham extra well done since i am pregnant and can only eat cold cuts well cooked/heated...Well the ham was barely warmed and def not fried well done...no browning on it at all and they put SO MUCH black pepper i felt like i was eating a black pepper corn sandwich...it was so much pepper i could not eat more than a few bites.... Super cheap place with a ton of menu options. I came in on a Sunday morning about 11:30 looking for breakfast. When I walked in, there were a decent number of people waiting for their food as they had already ordered. I walked right up to the counter to place my order. I had the Sobo on a roll which is a sausage egg and cheese with homefries (in the sandwich). What I didnt like and noticed too late is that you need to specifically ask for salt, pepper, and ketchup when you order. A lot of other places usually automatically ask you when you order a breakfast sandwich. So I was a little disappointed in that. Aside from that, the sandwich tasted great, it was made extremely fast. It was a lot of food so I didnt even finish it. But I will definitely order again and this time say I want SPK! read more
