Not too sweet and not too coffee forward. My brother got the strawberry matcha. First off SO PRETTY to look at! And He loved it. They have a decent amount of pastries. Humphrey's Coffee is easily a 5 star for its warm and cozy atmosphere, great cup of coffee, and quick service. There's plenty of seating both inside and outside. As a dog lover, I was instantly drawn to the coffee shop's adorable pup logo. Currently, there is a summer menu with some mouth watering options. My sister tried the Samoa iced coffee with chocolate and the blueberry cheesecake iced coffee. I went with a classic iced coffee, and it didn't disappoint. Lots of dairy and non dairy options to add in. Coffee always pairs well with a nice pastry. There's a solid variety of pastries to choose from. Plenty of fun merchandise as well! Cute cafe the the Bergen County. I came there last Saturday around 9am to get some work done. The vibes on google pictures really stood out to me, and I wasn't disappointed. There is plenty of room for friends and families to hang out, which the longer I sat there, the more of that I saw. I wasn't impressed with how they serviced me, but it was just the beginning of the day. Throughout the morning I overheard the baristas recognizing locals, and regulars and chatting with them. The pastry selection is HUGE. So many goodies I didn't know what to order. I settled on I think it was a raspberry or strawberry crumble cake. It was insanely delicious! I also ordered a hot strawberry matcha. The biggest cup they had was huge. It was like drinking two lattes in one. Not something you would find in NYC. I sat there for few hours working. The temp was cold, but nothing tragic. It wasn't a warm day, but we are entering summer... The only thing that really bothered me was the state of the floors, which I wouldn't have noticed if I didn't drop my pen... they were really dirty like they haven't been cleaned in few days... same in the bathroom....it just made me wander if they clean the tables and how clean they keep their working areas.... My wife and I have been checking out coffee shops within 20-30 minutes of our house. It's a nice way to spend some time together and to support local businesses. Humphrey's is in the middle of a cute suburban "downtown" area. The shop itself has nice natural light and some comfortable seating available. Staff were pleasant and the service was prompt on a Sunday afternoon towards closing time. I enjoyed a medium Americano, three shots of espresso in a 16 oz cup. My wife enjoyed an Irish cream latte, they seem to rotate some creative seasonal drinks. Certainly worthy of a return! read more

The staff was helpful with choosing the right amount of syrup to add. The cafe had a few tables to sit awhile. There's lots of parking behind the shop. read more

I had high expectations because of all the great reviews... but I don't understand the hype. Don't let my 3 star review steer you away, though. They have an extensive menu (including a seasonal one), pastries, and merchandise. I ordered an iced mocha latte ($5.50) and it was just OKAY. The espresso was nowhere near strong enough and the drink just tasted like chocolate milk. The cafe is decorated nicely with a plant/Bohemian type of vibe. The one thing I noticed was that the chair cushions had a lot of stains on them. It's not the best environment to work or study in. It's small and they have limited seating and only two outlets. No hate on the kiddos, but it's also family friendly so it can get pretty loud. This is more of a spot to meet up with friends and socialize. Not sure if I'd return. read more

My friends and I were in the area and we were craving coffee in the morning. We decided to stop by here for coffee - they have their regular menu but also a spring menu (which included ube matcha, ube espresso latte, strawberry matcha latte and more). They also have baked goods which all looked so good. The place itself is also super aesthetic with plenty of seating inside and some seats outside. My staff was super friendly in the front and at times there was a line but it moved very quickly. We all decided to get a chocolate croissant with was yummy. I decided to get the ube espresso lattee, which was pretty good - the ube syrup was on the sweeter side so the drink was sweeter than I would have liked it but it was good overall. The flavor was good as well. We were all in agreement that the drinks were def on the sweeter side so if this is something that you don't like then maybe ask for less sugar. My friend and I stopped in at Humphrey's, a visit I considered long overdue. The shop is a nice size with some seating available if you want to hang out. There's a bunch of public picnic benches and a swing seat at the end of the block where you can also find seating. We each opted for an iced coffee and upon receiving them, the ratios were very off. There simply wasn't enough ice in the drink to qualify as an actual iced coffee, which made for an almost tepid drink. We ended up having about a quarter each and tossing out the rest because we couldn't power through it. Sadly, we'll be skipping out on making a return visit. read more

Was really looking forward to trying their iced matcha ube latte and sadly I left disappointed. First, the drink was only semi-cold (definitely needed more ice that my initial thought was "it's not cold"... I had to add some ice when I got home). Second, every sip I took had clumps of matcha. Also, I did not taste any Ube in it at all, the matcha was definitely overpowering that there were so many lumps of it, not even a hint of Ube.The drink was poorly made that I could not get myself to finish it, I ended up having to throw it away. This spot is a little gem tucked away in the woodsy side of Bergen County. You can tell this is a local favorite since it has a few rushes and customers sitting, chatting and working. There is not much to this area but this coffee shop is great. The croissant I had was super well made and had the perfect crispy outside and chewy inside. This place is the best. Good quality coffee and nice baristas. Lots of parking... Only complaint: they take so long. If you're in a rush, don't come here. If you get stuck behind even 3-4 people in line - you will be waiting for your coffee for a while. it would also be one thing if the Barista's's were working extremely quickly, but they take their sweet time and are basically in slow motion / don't really seem to care at all that there's a line out the door of people waiting. After visiting a bunch of times, I am beyond happy with their delicious homemade cookies and their Balthazar pastries. It's a refreshing problem to have to decide on what to get to eat from their glass display. The coffee isn't for me. I've tried a few lattes and the drip coffee. It's a particular type of roast that has a bit of a rough/acidic/burnt taste. Similar to Bulldog in Ridgewood. They do offer other drinks, but I wish they had picked a different coffee roaster. I love mocha so much that the hunt for something just as delicious to support small businesses has me driving fairly regularly to How You Brewing in LBI, which is a bit of a hike. Stumbling across Humphrey's was an incredible find, and I have zero complaints and lots of praise for their mocha latte (iced if you please, with whole milk). Great coffee, terrible service. Iced caramel latte was delicious and average price for a coffee shop nowadays. However, I will not be returning solely because of the attitude of the staff. The young woman who helped me did not respond to my "Hi how are you" and simply had a crappy attitude as if I was a bother. Then had the nerve to flip the tablet around prompting me to tip. Gave her the benefit of doubt and tipped a dollar, only for her to then sit my coffee on the counter when it was ready. She did not say a word and I assumed it was mine and grabbed it. She just stared at me. I said have a nice day to which I got no reply. Owners need to rethink their staffing.
