It is so funny. I mistakenly found Sweet Grace on the internet when in fact, I was looking for the vendor Sweet Lisa for my daughter's wedding cake. Boy am I glad that I screwed up! Sweet Grace is excellent! Not only did she do the buttercream flowers that I requested (Sweet Lisa finds them beneath her for some reason), but she came all the way from NJ to Tarrytown to meet me on a Saturday (Sweet Lisa does not meet on weekends regardless of whether you work or if you live out of the area). Plus, Sweet Grace's cake choices are much more gourmet. We chose her Champagne Cake with a fresh strawberry cream filling and it was OUTSTANDING. So refreshing compared to what would have been our choices with Lisa's. We did a basket weave with buttercream flowers cascading down and it turned out simply beautiful! I am happy to say that the new General Manager at the Tarrytown House Estate has added Sweet Grace onto their approved vendors and future wedding parties will be glad that they did. Lisa knocked it out of the park! I ordered my wedding cake and a grooms cake for the rehearsal din. My husband and I went to taste a bunch of cakes before finding sweet grace. I have extremely high standards (sometimes to my disadvantage) however, Lisa created the flavor I was searching for and let us taste it. Honestly I was sold on her moist delish cake more than the cake designs but took a chance,and was as specific as I could be. Well!!! Hands down the most delish and visually pleasing cakes I have ever seen. These cakes exceeded my expectations. Everyone is still talking about them. I ordered a "non wedding wedding cake" from Sweet Grace and she understood exactly what I wanted which was a wedding cake that didn't look so much like the traditional wedding cake. We were having a wedding reception in our back yard but the wedding had been months earlier and my daughter was very sensitive to the fact that this was not going to be a wedding. I met with Grace, told her the color scheme I wanted. In no time at all she drew up a few designs, let me decide which was right. I didn't taste the cake ahead of time but went with the pink champagne based on her suggestion and some of her reviews. It was wonderful! A perfect dense, not to sweet cake with delightful frosting. I ordered a 3-tier Micky Mouse Clubhouse-themed cake for a 1st birthday party, and the cake was a hit! I ultimately ordered from Sweet Grace, Cake Designs based on the great number of good reviews, and they did not "steer me wrong" as can sometimes happen when relying on reviews to pick a product or service. The cake looked great and tasted good too (red velvet/ cinnamon butter cream filling/ vanilla butter cream frosting). Lisa was very good with the email communications which I greatly appreciated (prompt and courteous). The cake delivery was on time. Good cake and good customer service...What more could I ask for? I ordered a custom cake for my sister's 30th birthday. I gave Lisa some very general ideas and she helped guide me and pick out a theme for the cake. I left the details up to her and the cake came out beautiful!!!!!!!! Not only did the design exceed my expectations, but the cake tasted delicious!!! I ordered both pink champagne and chocolate flavors and both were great! It was so moist and flavorful which is a lot more than I can say for other custom/fondant cakes I've tasted - the design does not compromise the taste here! I threw a 75th Birthday Celebration for my mom, and had my cake done by Sweet Grace, Cake Designs. I told her the theme and sent her a copy of the invitation for Alice's Black, White, Diamonds and a Splash of Red 75th Birthday Celebration. She suggested designing the cake like the invitation. The cake was a HUGE HIT! My sister thought it was a sculpture and even better, it tasted as good as it looked! It was Red Velvet with Cream Cheese Frosting. It was moist and just wonderful. It was out of love for your passion of baking that you guys were able to not only give me the wedding cake of my dreams but in less then 5 hours. I'll explain quickly.
