Absolutely amazing Jewish deli! I could eat there every day!!…read more The traditional salads and sandwiches were perfect. Could have been in NYC and it would not have been any better.

This one is not a fun one to write. So my father was having lunch at Liebman's Yonkers on February…read more11th, after my recommendation to go there based on my great experiences with the original location in the Bronx. He and his friend both enjoyed the food (although he made sure to mention that it wasn't nearly as good as Katz's, which I completely agree with). He thought that the restaurant itself was clean and nice enough. But then the fun part happened. He tried to tip 20% on his lunch bill, asking the waiter to round to the total from the $50 check to $60 total The waiter decided that meant adding a $60 TIP to the order and running the credit card at $110 for their lunch. Simple mistake, maybe. We apparently will never know, because Liebman's has never called back after two different attempts to speak with management to rectify the situation. We were told that there was no manager there twice, but assured that we would receive a call back shortly. Nothing, apparently. Is Liebman's an establishment that targets the elderly and figures that they can get away with it because sometimes people don't look at what they're signing. Who knows? Not me, because no-one from Liebman's decided that it was important to return multiple calls to figure that out. So, IF you go to this place, please check your bill and then check it again, because once you leave the restaurant, they seem to have no desire to explain why they charged you a 120% tip (or even attempt to keep you as a customer) Bonus fact: I waited three weeks to post this to give them every chance to do the right thing and have a manager reply.

(Not what) I kept it simple, because sometimes the greatest historical masterpieces seem so simple centuries later. Yet, sometimes, they once inspired an entire movement. This sandwich was GREAT. I'm a great big bozo for not trying this joint earlier. Lock me up, tie my shoes together and throw away my phone. I'll find my way back. Bravissimo wandissimo. I stopped here while dropping my daughter off for college orientation and ended up finding an…read moreabsolute gem. There is a good amount of street parking in the area, and I was lucky enough to grab a spot right out front after the owner moved his own car. The neighborhood itself is quiet, even though the street stays fairly busy. Just keep in mind it is a narrow two way road with parking on both sides, and buses also travel through the area. Walking inside, I immediately noticed how bright, clean, and welcoming the deli was. I was greeted right away by the owner, who was incredibly friendly, funny, accommodating, and genuinely seemed happy to have customers walk through the door. That kind of hospitality sets the tone before you even order. I started with a grilled cheese on white bread, and it was exactly what a great grilled cheese should be. Crispy on the outside, perfectly melted on the inside, and incredibly satisfying. Next came the house made natural cut French fries. These are not frozen fries, so expect to wait about ten minutes while they're made fresh. Trust me, they're worth the wait. Crispy, fresh, and exactly what homemade fries should taste like. The star of the meal was the bacon, egg, and cheese on a hero with black pepper. This sandwich was outstanding. The bread was fresh, airy, soft, and absolutely beautiful. There was so much egg it was practically spilling out both ends of the sandwich. I personally prefer my eggs cooked a little firmer, but that was completely on me because I never asked for them that way. The bacon was cooked perfectly with great flavor, crispness, and no excess grease. You can tell this deli genuinely cares about the food they serve. The quality of the ingredients and the attention to detail really stand out. I also grabbed a bag of chips and a bottled sparkling water, and everything came to about $31. While that may sound a little high for breakfast, considering the quality of the food, the generous portions, and the area, I thought it was completely justified. This is exactly the kind of neighborhood deli you hope to find. Great food, fantastic service, and owners who truly care about their customers. I would absolutely come back, and they earned every bit of this five star review.
