I have a very yummy sandwich spread for lunch because of these people! The woman at the counter was friendly and even offered a tip for my family! Thanks to her - my kids had a "fun" hike and whining was at a minimum :) My fav sandwich was the Italian sandwich with red peppers! Don't forgot the sweet red peppers! The apple and brie sandwich was good as well But my kids weren't a family. They did make a good hand and cheese sandwich for my son! I recommend this place for sure !! My daughter got married at a nearby venue so we used them to cater breakfast and snacks for the bridal party, as well as baked goods for our guests "to go". It's got an unassuming, rustic exterior, that couldn't look more out of place among the chic restaurants and boutiques of downtown Rye. So it caught my eye immediately. Claire and her staff were exceptional caterers for a reception held at Rye Presbyterian Church. I could not have been more pleased with the quality of food and service. The sandwiches, veggie tray, fruit salad, cookies and bars were ALL outstanding and nicely displayed. I could only give Claire two weeks notice for the event. She calmly handled everything with ease I ordered table linens and napkins and she outsourced a WONDERFUL server. Thank you so much, Claire and your staff. We have been ordering our birthday cakes from Rya Country Store for years and won't go anyplace else. The cakes are simple but delicious. When we have parties our guests are always blown away at how yummy the cake is...moist, not too dense but not too light frosting is amazing! I did not want to go into any stores because of the corona virus and the wait for delivery in Rye is currently 7 days. So, Mary, from the CS responded to a post I put on Facebook. She found out what I was looking for which was mostly fresh fruit and vegetables, and took a video of their entire produce section and sent it to me. I was pleasantly surprised at the selection they had. She then called me and I made my selections from her video. Many other local deli's/stores offer blind texting in of orders, but I don't like shopping without knowing what is available and what the prices are. Mary took my order and offered to deliver, but I chose to walk over and she met me out front with 2 bags. The quality is better than the local grocery stores and the service excellent. One had a grainy sand-like texture to it and ended up being thrown away, the other was gifted with The Rye Country Store business card to a well established company prior to tasting. First of all - best crudite platter, hands down. Vegetables are fresh, dips are excellent and they include jicama, which is a consistent favorite. I have purchased them for many years but only recently started to include their prepared food at my larger or holiday gatherings. Always appreciative of the homemade quality that never feels like I ordered dishes (and I'm a good cook!) Sometimes there isn't enough time to make everything I would like and I am never sorry if I call on Chris or Claire to fill in - or even take over. The reasons to go here are their customer service, devotion to high quality, value and major convenience. And they give great suggestions based on their extensive experience. Huge fan and grateful that my friends shared this gem with me. PS I now live in the Berkshires (MA) and STILL order their vegetable platters and holiday dishes and have one of our friends from the area pick them up on their way here. read more

The only good thing from Rye Country Store is the cupcakes. The prepared foods are absolutely disgusting! I have tried the grilled chicken which was yellow with congealed fat bits stuck to it. I have also given them another shot and tried ordering the eggplant parmesan dinner, the tomato sauce was bitter and acidic. I also tried ordering a turkey sandwich that was supposed to come with Brie and apples but unfortunately all I got was slimy turkey on bread. I would not recommend this place to anyone unless you are going there for thier cupcakes. read more
