The complete breakfast. Eggs, turkey bacon, pancakes
Tarik O.

My first time didn't know what to expect. Staff were friendly. I ended up getting the complete breakfast (eggs, turkey bacon, and pancakes) definitely worth it. You won't break the bank going here at all. Good vibes all around. Definitely will be coming back!!

The master himself. He needs a much bigger grill.

If you look on Google you'll find that this place is now called Breakfast House. And the pictures you'll see seem to be posted by patrons but seem also to have the quality of high resolution professional photos. The food looks too perfect. There's no way these are patrons' photos. So you think to yourself this must be an amazing breakfast place. Then you get there and you realize it is just a tiny, dinky diner. Nothing special. Nothing pretty. But for some reason it's full of people. That's a good sign. The second good sign is that if you go on a Sunday, which I don't totally recommend, you will wait no less than 20 minutes just to have your food brought to your table. The reason why is from what I can tell they only have one cook and he has a small space to do his masterful work in, and Sundays are swamped. The staff, who may be relatives I think, are so sweet and so considerate that those 20 minutes go by quite quickly. I think the real reason I'll come back is just to watch this man cook. The menu is quite broad for a breakfast place and exceedingly affordable. But what's really amazing is how much effort he puts into everything being so perfect, so presentable, so flawless. I watched intently as a Belgian waffle left his hand to the waitress while he quickly added a bit more whip cream on top, then watched him shift his body to flip and toast a breakfast burrito, then stepping back to pull out the broiler tray below his grill to check on the toasted bagel with cheese, closing it as he leaned forward and poured out a thin layer of eggs for a perfect omelette. All that and you would think that he had multiple arms with the speed at which he works. He is an artist. Yes this is a simple diner, no they won't win a Michelin award, but he is a master of his trade. I will return just watch him cook. And those photos really are from patrons. Here are mine.

One egg bec for $5. I'll pass.

This place is pretty wack to be honest. All my coworkers swear by it, but I don't really get the appeal. $5 for a bacon egg and cheese that comes with one egg? That's sad.

Jane D.

We love this place. Fast, delicious...affordable. This is a short order kinda jon if you're looking for a big menu look elsewhere but if down-home, griddle born breakfast is what you're after; this is your place.

Food is kind of bland and the place needs a serious renovation. Felt like I traveled back in time when I entered.

As a first-time visitor, I was hopeful, especially since I came in around 6 PM for a simple breakfast--breakfast-the kind of meal that should be easy for a diner to nail. Unfortunately, the execution of the food was subpar. After a 20-minute wait, my breakfast plate of bacon, potatoes with peppers and onions, and soft scrambled eggs arrived cold to the touch. The eggs were also far from soft scrambled; they were extremely runny. I had to request the dish be microwaved briefly just to get it to an edible temperature, which is disappointing for a fresh order. My dining companions faced issues as well. One member ordered a baked potato and broccoli, but the first potato served was uncooked and contained a rotten piece inside. While the replacement potato was properly cooked, this was a significant misstep. The one culinary highlight was the sole fish sandwich, which my uncle ordered and thoroughly enjoyed, noting that it looked and tasted delicious. Overall Impression: While the atmosphere and the sole sandwich were positive indicators, the major failures in temperature, timing, and preparation of simple breakfast items and sides were hard to overlook. This diner seems like it could be a great spot for breakfast during more normal hours, but ordering anything else feels like it might be "up for grabs." Given the nice location, I am willing to give the Port Chester Diner a second try, hoping these issues were just anomalies.

When he finally came to take our drink order, my mom let him know we were ready to order food as well, but he told us to wait while he got the drinks first. I was there with two very hungry kids, so the delay was frustrating. After we eventually placed our order, our salad came out and we asked for an extra plate. Again, it took an unusually long time to receive something so simple--even though the restaurant was nearly empty. When I tried to address the situation, the waiter was dismissive, argumentative, and kept interrupting me instead of listening. I then spoke to the manager, hoping for some resolution, but my concerns were completely disregarded. Overall, the service was extremely poor and unprofessional. It was an unpleasant experience from start to finish.

I asked the person at the counter what kind of plant milks they had and he said, "Whole milk, skim milk..." obviously not even listening. I had to ask again. HE DROPS THE SLEEVE ON THE FLOOR AND THEN PUTS IT ON THE CUP. Sigh. I was with new friends and didn't want to make a fuss, but GAH You could not pay me to eat here. If this is how they behave in front of you, what happens when you can't see? Was trying to phone to speak to a manager, but one was never in and maybe that is the problem...

On to the food, the menu had plenty of gluten free options so my partner had endless decisions to choose from. For the entree, we had Spinach Basil Pesto Rigatoni and the Deux Wagyu burger mind you eating the burger it melted each bite I took. The winner of the night the French Onion Mac and Cheese like whaaaaa, that is on top of my list of best Mac and cheese I ever had. Honorable mention has to go the side salad because the dressing or vinaigrette was delightful and would get it again. Ultimately I don't think you could go wrong in any of the food choices. It smells so strong you cannot imagine eating anything while smelling it. Why are they not using any of the many non smelling cleaners available? Like every other restaurant!?! Please Tellys!!! I actually love their food most of the time and would go there more often if not for this issue. Sometimes the calamari and octopus are not as fresh as they could be which of course is a big problem. They need to coordinate with their other restaurant to make the ingredients always fresh!!! Love the marousalata, grilled octopus (sometimes) and many of their other dishes. If they did better marketing or PR (youre right next to the town of Greenwich where people love and can afford your food but no one has heard of you!) they would have more customers and likely fresher food! My suggestions: 1. Stop using fabuloso- clean with a smell-free product 2. Only fresh food always (no old seafood or meat! Dangerous!) 3. Marketing and PR!
