I had a very disappointing experience at Glory Days Diner. When we arrived, no one brought water to the table, and it took a long time for a waiter to even acknowledge us. When he finally came to take our drink order, my mom let him know we were ready to order food as well, but he told us to wait while he got the drinks first. I was there with two very hungry kids, so the delay was frustrating. After we eventually placed our order, our salad came out and we asked for an extra plate. Again, it took an unusually long time to receive something so simple--even though the restaurant was nearly empty. When I tried to address the situation, the waiter was dismissive, argumentative, and kept interrupting me instead of listening. I then spoke to the manager, hoping for some resolution, but my concerns were completely disregarded. Overall, the service was extremely poor and unprofessional. Convenient location and friendly staff, but the food wasn't great. The Pig and Fig Grilled Cheese has Mozzarella, imported prosciutto and sweet fig jam. Very greasy and the prosciutto was too crispy. I hate to say this because some may totally disagree, but there was too much prosciutto. Is that possible? The sandwich would be better if it was just a little better balanced cheese to meat ratio. The double patty smash burger was good. Way too much lettuce and the tomato was not good. The restaurant is clean with plenty of seating. Parking in the lot or on the street is available. Huge menu with friendly staff and filling options. The menu is definitely a strong standout with classic diner options and lunch entrees. They also have some Italian and Latin fare, still diner style. On a snowy day, we loved the poutine and pancake options. I know my picture doesn't do justice, but the portions here are massive. I mean a taco bowl with 3 eggs over chorizo for breakfast? So good. The service was a touch slow and it was difficult to keep the coffees coming, but everyone seemed to thoroughly their food. Seems as though this is the one few diners in town, I don't have a lot negative to say - it's classic diner flair, prices are good, and the portions are great. Typical look for a diner. Service was fine. Food was sub-par. Reuben sandwich came wrapped in foil over fries that looked and tasted like they had been cooked more than once. Oily yet dried and overdone. The sandwich was loaded with kraut but the corned beef was dry and leathery. Off the kids menu, the chicken fingers were also overcooked and dry. Same fries as I had. Nicely made chocolate milk for the kid, and ice cream portion was nice. Parking lot is small and tight, but at least there is one. Will look for an alternative next time. read more

I have eaten here several times for all three meals, breakfast, lunch and dinner. Service is always very prompt and the staff is usually friendly. The hash was a very large portion and homemade next time I'd order it crispy but it was very good. The meals in the tortilla bowls were good but for the price I expected more in them. I came here with my friend to get something to eat. The Manager on shift was very RUDE! He tells us to "get a booth" and he'll come over later. When he comes to our table, he said nothing and just threw the menus down on the table at us and walked away. Moreover, he walked customers who were Caucasian to THEIR tables instantly. AWFUL PLACE!!!! WOULD NOT ACCOMMODATE A DISABLED PERSON. My husband just had surgery and could not comfortably fit nor sit in the booths. The wider table with the individual chairs was clearly available in the back and we asked if we could sit there. Instead we were DENIED the seats. We asked for a manager and they gave us some busboy. He said "NO, that's for more people". They had PLENTY of open space to accommodate a large size group if they came in yet they completely DENIED a disabled person from sitting at a table that he could actually fit into. Quick review: Food: Everything was decent but OVERCOOKED, they also deliver some food on a hot skillet which was cool. But yes, if it wasn't overcooked it would be fine, nothing was gross. Service: Very good. Someone was always available, didn't slack off considering the late hours, everyone was very friendly as well. Service was great. Ambiance: Normal diner, not bad just basic diner. Exactly what you'd expect. Again, this is not a bad thing. Price: Cheap, like it should be. So yes, it was just alright. The only thing bringing this down so much was the food. As stated before, there's a difference between being served something "gross" (Ex. drenched in grease) and "overcooked". Here it was just overcooked but still edible. It was a sort of tradition for us to go shopping in Greenwich once a year. Then we would go out to eat and many a time we would choose Glory Days as our restaurant of choice. Now I have not been in awhile but I always liked this diner. I am not usually a diner fan but, to me, this place just felt more like a traditional sit down family restaurant then your standard diner. Plus they really do have have yummy food. The menu is extensive. And sometimes I would get breakfast, (is there anything more cozy then breakfast in the evening?) But I also I love their hamburgers and that says something because I'm picky about my burgers and don't really usually like burgers at diners AT ALL.But I sure did here. And Glory Days is also quite reasonable price wise which is important because it is Greenwich after all. It's a casual vibe which is good in my opinion. Despite the all over the place Yelp reviews of this diner, we popped in here for a late afternoon light bite to eat after our early morning of stopping in on some family and friends in Greenwich and prior to doing some local Christmas shopping. We were impressed right off the bat with the friendly service starting with the hostess who led us to our booth and continuing with our terrific wait person. This diner is a big place, certainly bigger than a typical diner but in all other ways is pleasantly reminiscent of the diners I grew up frequenting in NYC. Each booth has it's own jukebox, these days filled with CDs as opposed to 45 rpm records. There are the familiar glass cases filled with big, bountiful desserts including cheesecakes which were always a diner favorite of mine. The menu is large and there are classic items like burgers, sandwiches, panini, grilled foods of all kinds, pasta dishes, and of course classic breakfast foods. There is also an array of lighter choices like salads that they are willing to tweak to your liking. You can get sweet potato fries instead of regular potato fries so you can feel marginally better about eating the large plateful that comes with your order. Delicious whole dill pickles come with each plate. Our food was quite tasty although my husband's burger was a bit overcooked for his liking. I loved that when I asked for lemon slices for my salad in lieu of other dressing, the waiter brought over at least a full lemon's worth of thick cut wedges and offered more if that wasn't sufficient. The portions were large and we had leftover food which was efficiently and nicely packaged up for us. The pacing was unhurried but yet still attentive. Prices are very reasonable. The kindness of the staff make this a place to which I would certainly return for a casual nosh. read more

While I have been coming here for years, I will NOT EVER return. They are critically understaffed and undermotivated. 30 minutes after being seated we finally got to order aps and drinks but no placemats or utensils or napkins in sight. I had to get them myself from already set, empty tables. The ambiance has not changed at all in the 15 years I've been going except getting more tacky. The food was under portioned in parts and over portioned in others and not in a good way. I desparately wish they had the same drive as they did in the old days but they lost their appeal.
