We had a wonderful time at the J House and enjoyed their Romance Package very much! The staff was amazing and thought of every detail and went the extra mile to make sure our room was set up perfectly and it was! It is really a great package and encourage others to experience it.

I hosted my 30th birthday experience at The J House Greenwich and the pictures attached do it no justice. After having brunch at Tony's (the restaurant at the J House), I fell in love with the food and the atmosphere of the venue. I immediately began working with the Event Coordinator in March to host my event for May. Before I dive into the rest of the review, this was the breakdown of my event: -Location: Putnam Room -Time: 7-11pm -Food: 3 course plated dinner -Drinks: Standard 3hr open bar -Party size: 48 people The above was the hard part. Once that was situated, I was able to organize everything else. I was allowed to bring in a DJ, a photographer and a photobooth for my event. The venue also waived the cake cutting fee and a few other add-ons for me. I met and communicated with the Event Coordinator frequently and although there were plenty of bumps along the way, the execution of my event was flawless. My friends and I set up the day before and there was really no limit on what I was allowed to do. I had a vision and was able to bring it to fruition. I decorated and set up the venue myself. The decor was all me, not the venue itself just as an FYI! On the day of the event, my guests began to arrive around 6pm and were offered valet parking. They waited in the foyer area until the doors of the room were open. During the wait, the bar was open and folks were able to mingle. The staff already had the meal selections of each guest and they were FLAWLESSSSSS in how they executed the delivery of the food the entire night. Till today, I am so amazed at how wonderful the staff was!!!! My guests still rave about the food and the staff. The saddest part for me was when the event ended. I had such an amazing time and would recommend the J House to everyone. We also stayed overnight at the hotel as they blocked off 10 rooms for me and my guests. The rooms were immaculate and service was beyond what I expected. Can't wait to host another event here!!!

Nice ambiance. Beverage menu has a variety of cocktails. We seated at the bar and tried the margaritas and the chocolate martini. Definitely pricey. Next time will be trying the food.

Great place to celebrate with friends & family for all occasions. Tony & Scott are great hosts!

My friends and I had an 8 pm reservation. We got there early and while there were empty tables, we were told they were waiting for tables to get up. We got some drinks at the bar that we requested weren't sweetened. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case. In the grand scheme of things, not a big deal. We were then seated nearly a half hour after the reservation time. My group and I ordered sushi and requested no crunch/gluten free - which is exactly what came to the table. Once they redid the order, the sushi was really good. The service wasn't great, super slow. I came in thinking that the J House had a good reputation- while this may be the case, I was really disappointed. Needless to say, I'm not itching to return anytime time soon.

This was my first time at the J House Hotel. I came here to celebrate my birthday. The valet parking attendants were very kind and allowed us to self park in the front. The hotel is lit beautifully and when you walk in there's a beautiful Christmas tree. It's opulent and elegant and I immediately loved it. The room was very high tech and I pushed every button I could find LOL. The toilet was automated and had a bidet. The bidet had multiple functions including a drying function! The huge glass mirror was also the television and the lit glass mirror in the bathroom also was a television. The bed was comfy and so were the pillows which is never the case for me. They provided robes and sleep masks also. There was continental breakfast available if you didn't want to go to the restaurant on the premises. I had a delicious coffee and bagel. One thing I did not like was that someone near us had a dog that barked quite a bit in the morning. But this place gets 5 stars because I forgot my birthday card behind and was so devastated. I called back and she right away got in touch with housekeeping who had put it aside for me. I thought for sure they'd have just thrown it away. So I will be going back to pick it up. I just thought this was so nice of them. I will be going back in the near future. This felt like a luxurious birthday weekend well spent.

Had this review pending for what seems like years now. Alright fine! I think it's time I share my staycay oasis with you; a gem of a hotel located several short miles outside the Tri-State area. Unbeknownst to me a few years ago, I had no idea this place existed. The directive was, pack your bags, bring your noodle and let's go on a short outing. Okay!! Upon pulling up to the front parking area, my first impression was modern, yet seemed rather small. Boy was I fooled. Upon walking in, there is a teeny front desk that holds maybe two reps, surrounded by bright, clean lines with modern art pieces placed about. But as for smallness, that's where it ends. The J House opens up from there and covers a fairly decent amount of ground. On my first visit, I relished in how J House showed itself to be above trend. Your hotel room accommodations provide you with a smart room in most every area you encounter. It reminds me of those über sophisticated hotels in Cali. modern and sleek with high-tech amenities. Most hotels Eastside I've since encountered, have caught up with 'Smart' accommodations but not to the extent of J House. For instance, Room and Housekeeping Services are managed via iPad, which has become the norm in most hotels. But J House takes 'Smart' to another level. PROS / SMART AMENITIES: Smart Wall Consoles manages: Privacy switch on entryway/bedside console (aka Do Not Disturb) Automated Solar Shades Automated Blackout Shades Goodnight Consoles at Entryway/Bedside: Turns all lights off and closes all shades. Purple hue lighting under bed and dimmer options. TOTO All-in-one toilet and bidet with heated seats, auto lid raised/lowered and other extras. High Def 15" Mirror TV in bathroom High Def 55" Smart Mirror TV in bedroom Shower with modern features Robes, in-room safe, etc. OTHER PLUSES: J House Restaurant Fair sized pool with swanky cabanas Table Tennis Table with Joola rackets Accommodating staff. Shout out to JP Dir of Ops CONS: DirectTV satellite issues iPad issues When thinking of staycay's, this hotel is in the top five. Can't beat it for location, accommodations, in-house restaurant offering a decent selection of food and wine plus its indoor/outdoor space. So that's it, a fair portion of my experience at J House. Will I be back? I think so.

Picture from pictures--one of many like it.

This is a nice hotel. Good rooms (we had two-- a larger suite and a single). Well appointed and high tech. Love that they have high tech amenities for the traveler-Japanese toilets, screens in the bathroom mirrors. Love the art scattered around the hotel in both the public and private spaces. It's pretty amazing that they were able to make the transformation to nice hotel from what clearly started as a budget one. Staff was a bit on the rude side and not very versed in treating the customer correctly--which is surprising for the caliber that this hotel wishes to be. There was a minor situation with check-in and the staff kept bringing it up the entire trip in a very defensive way. It shouldn't have been an issue in the first place and the constant blame game was inappropriate at best---bringing it up multiple times over a holiday weekend to the guests when the problem had been solved days prior with little incident. The hotel is a regular hotel for the booking client, so weirder still.

Dirty glass wall behind bathroom

Nice hotel on the outside but lack of environmental cleanliness. The toilet was dirty, the glass wall was stained with red residue, the bed set had a stain, and to top it off there was a dead bird outside my window when I opened the shades. This is my second stay and second bad experience at this hotel. Thought I'd give it a second chance.

ORIGIN: The Hyatt Regency Greenwich was built in 1986. The…read morearchitectural influence appears to be 1980s post-modern/Robert A.M. Stern. In 2024 it underwent a 40 million dollar renovation. LOCATION: The Hyatt Regency Greenwich is conveniently just off I-95. It is located at the site of the former printing plant for Condé Nast Magazines (1921-1967). CONCEPT: Hyatt Regency Greenwich is a tremendous complex, providing event spaces, meeting rooms, many amenities, a bar/lounge, and 374 hotel rooms. (I've attached one floor's plan to give perspective.) Uncommon amenities include a movie theater showing one of the latest releases and a salt water pool. SERVICE: Service was mixed. My initial encounter was not welcoming, especially given this is a four star rated facility. I arrived in the early afternoon at the entrance. The valet explained that whether I self park or not, there is a fee (average around $30) and I must give valet my keys. The more unwelcoming and surprising thing was I asked if there was a luggage cart, as I recently had surgery. He pointed to where luggage carts are stored and told me to return the cart when finished. Despite seeing me slowly placing bags on the cart, and trouble pushing the cart, no help was offered by him, nor was solicited from a colleague inside the Hyatt Regency. The way he acted led me to assume conventional valet and bellman services were not available at this facility. The next day, at check out around 11 AM, was thankfully a different experience and I was grateful that the assigned valet took the luggage cart and placed the bags in my car without asking. Although I hope to not require assistance next time I visit, I understand from the hotel manager that valets are expected to transfer luggage between car and cart, and that bellman service is available. ROOM EXPERIENCE: GOOD The room was recently renovated and was cleverly and attractively designed, including prints related to Condé Nast magazines as reference to the site's history. Bed and pillows among most comfortable I've experienced anywhere. BAD I was able to hear children screaming from a distant guest room and someone urinating into a toilet above me, so there is a lack of sound proofing at the facility that is usually associated with a lower rated hotel/motel. Your neighboring guest can have an impact on your overall experience. AMENITIES I appreciated the recent addition of a movie theater showing a current release (during my visit The Devil Wears Prada 2 was being viewed.) I could see this destination as an attractive alternative to crowded multiplex theaters. Plus the Townsend Restaurant and Bar is steps away for during- or after-theater sips and nibbles. TIP: Since the building was constructed in the 1980s during a trend of rooms facing atrium, some room windows face the atrium, inviting a voyeur experience (watching activity in bar/restaurant below and likewise restaurant/bar guests watching activity in guest rooms). I've always found this a bit creepy, so if you want an outward facing room be sure to request it.

CONS: Mini frig is sitting on the floor which was odd. 1 dime size & old stain on bottom sheet. Stains don't give you a good feeling once you see it. Sheets had a slight hint of an unpleasant scent. As if it wasn't fully dried properly and no fabric softener was used. Shower head pulled away from the wall once you turned the water on. A tiny bug was in the tub. I understand, it could have came from the vent throughout the night. I suggest spraying for pests and insects. Windows were stained by condensation & grime. Breakfast was $50 for 1 omelette, pancakes, 2 sausage links and coffee PROS: Travalo restaurant: pancakes were good Coffee was ok Omlette had an added spice that was unfamiliar Gold members get $15 off breakfast It's close to the train station & shopping Staff was very friendly I would stay again based on location and safety, but with less expectation. We heard a lot of other people who were also there for the event complaining and saying how disappointed they were in the location. I think that's likely why the event coordinators for Stokercon decided the next two years will be convened in Pittsburgh where it was the year before last. Will never stay here again. Especially since I told the young man (Stephen) when I came in that I paid on a 3rd party site. He (Stephen) then promised me he would only charge me a refundable $107 deposit. I checked my credit card the next morning and they had charged me $107 + $175. Although they refunded it, it's a huge issue as I now don't have enough for the holidays. I'm also upset because the manager (Gabby) on duty made it sound like it happens all the time and it was a glitch in the system. I told her that I spoke to the young man (Stephen) who checked me in and he assured me I would only be charged a REFUNDABLE $107. Not $$282 total. Starwood denied my claim saying there was no longer a significant difference to warrant the price match plus the extra 10%. When I wrote to explain that the price was lower at the time I submitted my claim, I got an email back explaining their policy. As we were leaving, we were suddenly told we owed $160. I was shocked. I explained that I had called beforehand and was told it would be a free consultation. The front desk employee responded that "there is always a charge." I asked them to listen to the recorded call because I had specifically confirmed this before coming in. She said she would "go talk to the manager," and we waited another 15 minutes. She came back and said they wouldn't charge us today -- but that we would still have an open balance on our account. That makes absolutely no sense. If it was their mistake, why would we still owe the money? I asked to speak with the manager and requested to listen to the recorded call myself. The manager came out and refused to let us hear it, repeating that we would still have an open balance. After a long, stressful conversation, she finally admitted it was a mistake made by the front desk staff -- but still insisted we owed the money. That is unacceptable. We left feeling frustrated, stressed, and completely disrespected. If a clinic makes a mistake, they should take accountability -- not push the cost onto the client.
