While up in Rye to run a half marathon I went to pickup my race bib and swag a day early and decided to get lunch in town nearby and found this Bareburger location. It's definitely one of the nicer locations of this burger chain. Large with plenty of seating, bright, with an open air front which was nice on a beautiful sunny spring afternoon. My boyfriend and I had such a great experience at Bareburger in Rye and I had to leave a review, especially to shout out our bartender, Paul. From the moment we sat down, Paul was incredibly friendly, attentive, and just genuinely kind. He made us feel so welcome and took the time to chat with us while still making sure everything we needed was taken care of. You can really tell when someone enjoys what they do and wants guests to have a good experience, and that was exactly the vibe he created. The food was also fantastic -- everything came out fresh and delicious, and the atmosphere was great. But what really made the night stand out was the service. Paul went above and beyond and made our visit memorable. If you're going to Bareburger in Rye, definitely sit at the bar if Paul is working. I like this place and so do my children, but sometimes they don't seem very well run. Showed up for lunch and was told it would be at least a 25 min wait (despite being totally empty) bc they had many online orders. I'm sorry, what? We came here for dinner because it has been a while since we've been to a Bareburger and the family wanted to go back. We've always gone to the location in Hartsdale but now that we live in the Bronx again, the Rye location was closer so we decided to try them out. They're located in a very walkable area with many restaurants. We arrived about an hour before closing and the were completely empty which I found odd because so many other restaurants were bustling. We found parking right in front and were greeted upon entry, and directed to sit anywhere we pleased. We looked over the menu and LeAnn came over to take our drink orders. Our drinks came our pretty quickly and they were really good. Hubby and I had their version of a paloma, my so bad a really nice frozen coconut drink and the kiddo had a Honest fruit punch. We ordered some apps and our food, which took no time to come out. Our burgers came out really quickly. Unfortunately, my daughter's food and our appetizers came out after our mains. One thing I wish that kitchen would realize, would be to send out the kid's food with the appetizers, or just first. Kids can get very grumpy when they're waiting for their food and everyone else has theirs. We didn't begin eating until her food hit the table. Grub Rundown: Custom wagyu burger - both me and my son ordered wagyu patties with our own customizations. The flavor was OK but the patties were not cooked to the temperature we requested. Their lighting was pretty dine and I didn't realize how under they were until I took a picture. They weren't pink. They were red and a bit bloody. Since they were close to closing, I just tried to eat mine but the texture was not something I could get over. My son ate half of his burger. Elkosaurus - hubby ordered this burger medium, and his came out the proper temperature. He was happy with his choice. Kids grizzly with cheese - we ordered the beef burger with cheese for our Little. It was also ordered medium and came out correctly. She enjoyed her meal. She opted for onion rings on the side. Going Back To Cauli - these cauliflower bites were really good but they needed a sauce for dipping. I got their buttermilk ranch and it was a great pairing. Onion Rings - they're huge and flavorful. I wish they had tartar sauce to eat with this but the buttermilk ranch worked for the rings also. When we were finishing up and requested togo boxes, I mentioned that my burger was really under. I told LeAnn that since it was late, I figured I'd try to just eat it but the more I did, the texture was turning me off, but I would take it home anyway. She took my burger off the bill which wasn't necessary but certainly appreciated. She even gave our kiddo a little cup of chocolate ice cream with sprinkles on the house because I promised her some ice-cream but thought it was too late to order it. LeAnn definitely turned around my experience. After bringing my food home and reheating it, I was able to enjoy the rest of my burger. Had it been earlier in the evening, I would have mentioned my displeasure with the temperature. I've had wagyu plenty of time in steak form, and I will order that mid-rare to medium, depending on the cut. I will never had a well done or rare steak, but will order different cuts either medium or mid-rare. However, when it comes a to burger, it HAS to be medium in temperature because the texture of the broud beef when it's rarer, is a complete turn-off for me. But...today there was this young lady who provided excellent service, and seemed invested in actually making sure the burger was cooked properly. Atmosphere is great, clean and cute decor. This is one of my favorite quick meals, as someone who doesn't eat red meat, I love being able to customize a burger with all the "fixings". The sweet potato veggie patty always hits the spot. My chief complaint with this chain is that they do not serve a side with the burger, I feel like at a burger joint it should be standard to have fries with your burger. Additionally our service was just okay, we had to flag down the waiter who was chit chatting with his co workers multiple times, the servers were very sweet but they just didn't seem all that attentive. Really good burgers. They serve organic burgers, and you can definitely taste the difference from other franchised burger places. Plenty of customization options, as well as vegan options. Majority, if not all, ingredients are organic. One con is that you have to order fries separately. Definitely more on the pricier side for burgers. I've been a returning customer to Bareburger for a while and can confidently say that their food is very good (at multiple locations too). Their service in-restaurant is quick and their restaurants tend to be very roomy with kitschy decorating. Fries weren't soggy, nor were the pickles. Just wish there'd been a bit more fish with the fish and chips, one piece and a mountain of fries for $20+ is a bit underwhelming. Additionally, there were a whole bunch of big chocolate chunks in my milkshake which made it a little hard to drink. Otherwise the shakes were great (maybe not $9 great though). Prices are very steep here; $5 for a side of fries is hard to justify!! Overall, good food, way overpriced for the portions you get. read more

Luckily, she noticed the taste difference right away, and we alerted our server who was extremely apologetic, and showed us the pre-made mimosa batch in an unlabeled Tropicana container. Management brushed the whole situation off. This restaurant needs to take steps to ensure something as dangerous as this doesn't happen again. Stopped in for a quick lunch in the middle of a busy day. I've heard a lot about Bareburger but this was my first time stopping in to eat. I ordered the So Cal burger: organic turkey, organic cheddar cheese, alfalfa sprouts, guacamole, pickled red onions and sprout bun. I had waffle fries on the side. It was VERY good. The turkey burger was juicy and well season. My only substitution would be raw onions instead of pickled. I needed a bit of crunch to balance out the smooth guacamole. Ate here Friday night with friends. I've always been impressed with the beer selection, and it still remains excellent. The fried pickles and honey Brussels sprouts are great appetizers. Had the Standard burger and it was well cooked and extremely flavorful. The fries with it were crispy as I requested, but not super hot. The only real complaint I have (as I've encountered previously) is the service. We had to wait for quite a while after being seated for a waitress to even come by to take our drink orders. This is the only restaurant I've been to where the burgers do not come with fries. We had to pay extra for fries on the side. Once the fries arrived they were sooooo average tasting. Fries were Kind of bland. My grandma said her burger was DRY and hard to swallow. After leaving the restaurant she got the worst stomach ache. She said this the worst stomach ache in long time. Not sure what they put in the food at bareburger. My burger was very dry also. The special sauce was tasteless. I hate to say it but, I won't be coming back here anymore. Just like people like to say in a break up... "It's not you, it's me" haha! On a serious note though, I've been here a couple of times and I'm just not wowed. This time I came in set on trying the impossible burger because I've heard amazing things about it and I love seeing how real meat alternatives can taste. This was supposed to be the Rolls Royce of fake burgers! So I got the impossible burger on a brioche bun with my regular toppings mushrooms, American cheese, grilled onions and mayo with a side of onion rings and fries. My boyfriend got a regular burger on a brioche bun with queso, onions, jalapeño and habanero mayo. Also, onion rings and fries on the side. I absolutely hated my burger, it has to be one of the worst things I've ever eaten. I'm not sure if they cooked it wrong or I just don't have the taste for it but, I couldn't even choke it down. I can't even describe the taste, I was so disappointed because everyone really hyped up this product. It didn't even "bleed" like it's supposed to. I've decided I hate the onion rings, the batter is weird and too peppery, along with their weird peppery ranch. The fries are ehhh, I've had better. My boyfriends burger was a lot better than mine even though the mayo was bland, I had a bite of his and regretted my choice even more. Last week we went to Bareburger in Rye and everything was tip-top! I'm writing this review a week later, that's how great Bareburger is! We called ahead to ask if we could make a reservation for 8 people. When we walked in our table was ready and set for the 4 grandchildren who immediately started drawing and, as we all did, enjoying the delicious popcorn.
