LOCATION: The restaurant is located in the Rye Ridge Shopping Plaza, which has quite a few restaurants that are oriented towards fast, healthy dish options. Plenty of parking and quite accessible to several highways. CONCEPT: DIG offers vegetable forward dishes (intentionally 70% of plate), mixed with seasonal dishes (such as corn-based salads during summer). AMBIANCE: The restaurant has three seating sections: a back dining room with large window and skylights, a front dining room lined with bookshelves, and a small sidewalk patio area. Artwork decorates the walls and cafe tables are two shades of green with wood chairs. SERVICE: Although seating is available, orders are placed at the counter and are efficient. Through the DIG app online orders may be scheduled for pick up. TIPS: Ask to have order prepared in bowls/plates. Utensils are provided and the experience is greatly enhanced. I ordered the kale as my "base" and then chose three sides for the dish. Ordering is quick and easy, with the dishes labeled on the glass. Plenty of seating in the front and back of the restaurant, as well as plenty of parking in the lot. Dinner for three of us looked like 3 custom bowls and two sides. Everything was chose was so tasty and healthy. Different proteins, choice of base (faro was outstanding), amazing toppings and salads made it heavenly. For my salmon I tried some of their roasted red pepper sauce. I was originally supposed to eat heee as part of a Yelp Elite event but couldn't make it so I came here on my own to give it a try. The space is very big and open. It smelled great inside from the aromas of all the various ingredients that were cooking away. The staff was busy and friendly. I ordered the Dig owl and a side of the Brussels sprouts, my wife ordered a make your own bowl. The food was fresh and well cooked but the sprouts had way too much salt to the point it was overwhelming the flavor of the sprouts. Everything g else in my dish was better seasoned but even those items could have used slightly less salt too. I will definitely eat here again when I'm nearby. It was/is better than a lot of the "bowl shops" that I have been to, and I'm hoping that maybe they just slipped with the salt that day and I will give them another try. read more

Honestly, one of my favorite places for a healthy quick lunch. I absolutely love their salmon and sweet potatoes. I normally always get the same thing because I just love it so much. My order is brown rice, double sweet potatoes, salmon, and an avocado. I always get the rosemary vinaigrette dressing as it adds the most perfect flavor. I was so disappointed during my visit when they said they didn't have it for the winter. I could've sworn it was a year-round dressing but I got regular balsamic and it wasn't bad The only reason this isn't a full five stars is because it really is over priced. I understand that this is healthy food and it normally costs more but there's no reason two bowls should have costed $40. There are so many other places where $40 would have gotten me multiple courses. That is one of the main reasons I don't come here a lot. DELISH! Had the Herb Chicken Kale Caesar Salad w side of roasted sweet potatoes and it did not disappoint. The abundance of food was surprising bc we're so used to paying so much for so little especially when it comes to healthier foods. Everything tasted like it was fresh-picked from the farm at its peak that morning and prepared just for me. I've never felt so satisfying from a salad. Love that they have such a wide variety too. My wife and I were happy to come back here after first coming here for a yelp elite event a few months back. We both loved the concept, ambiance and food quality. So when we wanted to grab a bite to eat since we would be in the area we quickly decided to revisit. The concept is simple, they have items on the menu that you can order or you can customize, you can make a bowl using rice, farro or another option, can choose some other sides, can add veggies, chicken, tofu, salmon, etc, add avocado for an additional cost or sauces. I chose the hot honey chicken bowl which came with Mac and cheese (which is absolutely delicious) carrots, charred broccoli with lemon flavor and chicken with a hot honey sauce. The food here is great, awesome quality and fresh. If this place was closer I could see myself getting food from here at least once a week. The staff is nice and service is quick and efficient. The space is bright and open with plenty of casual seating, my only complaint is that on a really hot day the AC felt like it was barely on. I would absolutely return. read more

Who would think that a farm to table, fast food concept could even exist in our world? My go to proteins are their chicken thigh, salmon and steak. The flavors are really great and you can't go wrong with any of those. I always do a mix of brown rice and farro when I'm ordering their market bowls. When I'm feeling like a splurge, I'll also get a side of their mac and cheese. I tried : 1) Wild salmon market bowl - added garlic aoli, tarragon mustard and lemon - a great combination of flavors - especially with the cashew kale Cesar salad. The wild salmon was delicious but wildly over cooked & on the small side. 2) Flourless brownie - was fine, again not huge portion 3) Kitchen sink cookie - one of the best flaxseed cookies I've ever had. Five stars for the cookie! It did fall apart easily but a minor point really. I've heard stories of people waiting in line for Dig Inn (Dig). I can understand why - it's delicious and unique. My doorman called and said the delivery man was heading upstairs to drop it off (I'm on the 12th floor) and the guy never showed up. I proceeded to walk all 16 floors in my building to try to find where he would've put it and I didn't see anything. So I called the store. The man I spoke to was SO RUDE and did not utter one apology. It wasn't like I used a third party app, I used the DIG app. He seemed so annoyed that I called. I've been coming here a very long time, and for the most part, love the place. Sometimes you will get the occasional lighter portion and I do always tell people that I think the food is better when you dine in. Tonight was a little unpleasant, prompting me to write this review. It was about 7:45 PM and in-person I ordered a few bowls. The server told me they were out of cauliflower, so I chose something else. No problem. Upon checkout, I noticed that there was a fresh full pan of cauliflower under the heat lamp. The assistant manager told me that was for takeout customers only. If that's how the manager at this location wants to run this place, that is their decision, but I was always taught to prioritize in-person customers over the phone ringing and/or take out customers. While I was discussing things with the assistant manager, I was checking out, and the point-of-sale machine was prompting me to leave a tip, my signature, and close out the transaction but again, I was in conversation with the assistant manager. A worker walked through the area and sarcastically stuck their face into the screen, holding it there for a moment like I didn't see it, forcing me to pay attention to it. They must have not seen that I was in a conversation with their manager. You can understand why these things rubbed me the wrong way tonight. You are in the customer service and hospitality business. read more

Dig inn is such an interesting concept. It is hard to convince yourself that it is fresh food since it looks like an upscale cafeteria but this stuff is fresh. The workers are in the open kitchen cutting and preparing fresh vegetables. This stuff isn't frozen or anything. It is all fresh and they are doing all the prep work in front of you. The food was very good. I love how you can pick all the ingredients individually. I went with the kale with roasted carrots and avocado. The mac and cheese looked delicious. I would have ordered it but I was trying to be healthy. The salmon also was flaky and scrumptious. The skin had a good crisp to it. I enjoyed the whole meal and I didnt feel bloating or anything after. I felt healthier even though I probably wasn't. I will say it is freezing cold in here to dine in. Not sure if they are saving money or something but I had to keep my jacket and scarf on. Not pleasant. Other than the freezing cold environment the experience was great.
