Kelly's is a real pub. It seems to have a loyal clientele, the regulars. The restaurant seems to be the 1st floor of a home in the suburb of Rye, NY. We arrived and didn't know we could sit anywhere, I guess they noticed and with a friendly attitude let us know. The patrons, specially at the bar, were having a great time. Grateful for the fantastic weather we're able to sit outside and we had a great time as well. The server was a doll, taking care of the inside and outside. The food was delicious, we all agreed that the chicken quesadilla was one of the best we've ever had. My friends had a burger and fish and chips, we shared a home made brownie à la mode. Kelly's Sea Level is a small pub and restaurant hidden away in a residential neighborhood in Rye, NY. It's basically on the ground level of a house which adds to it's cozy charm. Its been around since the mid 70's. Not too long ago I ran a half marathon up in Rye along with a friend of mine running in her 100th half. She had a post race celebration party here which was catered and on their back patio. Nicely done, the food was tasty and the beer nice and cold. It's a true locals spot that those in the neighborhood patronize as while there I saw a bunch of them getting their day drinking on during early afternoon. Love this place - perfect setup This is the kind of place that people say to themselves, "how did I find this place?" A house smack dab in the middle of a neighborhood. You walk into this wonderful dimly lit spot and nuzzle up the bar where all of the patrons are having a good time. Pretty loud friendly group all interacting together and with the bar staff. Everyone made is feel like we've been regulars for years. Now add into this beautiful dated working mans bar that it serves amazing food. Looks like two specialties are seafood and burgers. We had a big lobster roll and a great cod sandwich. Delicious, prepared quickly, fresh, and decently priced. Throw in tubs of ice cold beers behind the bar and you have a real winner. So, our first time here and we were passing through and looked at the reviews and picked this place. It's a local dive, but sometimes these are the best places. We ordered chicken tenders and spicy Thai wings for apps. The fingers were straight up Tyson frozen out of the box. Not freshly breaded, the wings were cooked fine, but they were drenched in the sauce. The tenders came with Ken's honey mustard and Ken's bbq sauce still in the plastic containers. I ordered the grilled chicken sandwich with long hot peppers and onion. It was fine, but no sauce at all on it. My son ordered a medium cheeseburger which was very rare. The food was ok. The people at the bar were regulars, not only did I have to be subjected to their political idealization, but it was infused with M.F's. Didn't matter that there were kids in the place. Had dinner at Kelly's many times, actually my first amateur review. Kelly's is a Rye Gem ! A friendly warm pub/restaurant that serves quality food at amazing prices ! Almost hard to believe ! The food is always good, whomever is in the kitchen is very skilled at his/her craft. The burgers are great, the nightly specials are excellent and reasonably priced as is the entire menu. The steaks are very good and cooked to perfection ! The lobster rolls are a bargain for portions ! The staff is always friendly and attentive. Disappointed again. Had been here years ago after a former favorite burger closed. Burgers were terrible Never went back. Finally went back to try their Fried Clam Strips based on an article or review I read somewhere. Four of us. Four Fried Clam Strips. A major mistake. The Clam Strips tasted nothing like clams. They were thick/heavily breaded and all one could taste was the breading. Ugh. And the French Fries were equally tasteless, although not breaded. If you're looking for a pub, maybe this is an OK choice. But if you're looking for quality, I suspect this is not the [lace to go to. It's overly loud. Wooden walls. Wooden floors. By the sea, by the beautiful sea. Kelly's Sea Level is not on the water but with the nice tent covered outdoor dining patio who cares. The "sea" refers to their many Sea Level food options. The outdoor patio had 5 tables set up as fours but could easily fit 6 people. There was one table with umbrella outside the front door entrance. News of a good lobster roll here has made it a destination I had to visit. The all "meat" Connecticut Lobster Roll at $27.95 in warm butter on a new England buttered roll is by far the best I've had in Westchester County. Nice big chunks of lobster dressed in butter, not drenched so that the toasted roll stayed in tack. The item and price are listed on the printed menu. None of that BS, Market price crap so many restaurants add to the menu for Lobster rolls. I can't wait to return for the Maine Lobster roll (cold with mayo and old bay seasoning). My first time won't be my last, lots of reasonably priced appetizers, drinks, entrees and desserts I want to go back to. Bloody Mary's, meatloaf sandwich with gravy and melted Swiss plus take out Carrot Cake made for a very nice Father's Day lunch celebration. All desserts were $6 or less. Where are you going for that? I've paid upwards of $12 for Carrot cake that was inferior to the slices we took home. I don't know if it's made in house but either way it was a nice slice and good. read more

Kelly's Sea Level is a great little spot! An Irish-style pub, essentially in the basement of an older home of a mostly residential area in Rye. It took a little while for food to come, but when it did arrive everything was hot and delicious! Burgers were good but next time I'm going for the lobster roll! Great outdoor seating area, bar, and limited dining room seating. This is great place to come whether it's a warm spring day or snowy winter night. One might say "why in the world would anyone give 5 stars to a darkish, oldish, rundownish place?" Because that is EXACTLY what I was looking for, and it did not disappoint!!!! I grew up in bars in Queens just like this and was just looking for a bite and a beer. What I wasn't expecting was the quality of food!!!!!! I was NOT expecting that. The French onion soup was excellent, the clam chowder was some of the best almost as good as mine!!! Wasn't gelatinous or loose, wasn't overloaded with potatoes, it's really good soup!!! Besides wanting "an old mans bar" for a burger and watch a little football, my son wanted Fish and Chips. Not the frozen crap or the egg wash/bread crumb stuff reserved for chicken cutlet, but beer batter type, dipped in boiling oil that hasn't been changed in 10 years. DAMN!!!!!! On point. And as long as we're frying shit, we also had the fried clams, and the fried chicken!!! BOOM!!! But fear not, I counted no fewer than 2 defibrillators mounted n plain view!!!! If you want "not dogs" or tofu shaped like a steak, Greenwich is just 10 minutes away. I grew up in Rockaway Beach NY, a small community where everyone knows everyone and strangers always welcomed. In the area and looking for a place offering simple eats. We came across Kelly's. I figured a pub definitely will have no problem in serving up drinks, food in the other hand is a crap shoot. The reviews were mixed so I figured why not give it a try. Kelly's is truly a local establishment as it blends right in on a residential area. When you walk in you can see the dated old wooden tables and benches. The food menu was simple and priced right . Service was quick and friendly. We ordered fish and chips and panko fried shrimp with a side order of broccoli florets. Like I mentioned I'm sure the bar side is spot on without issues, but the food side unfortunately was horrible. I'm sure the other items on the menu could be a hit but both our items were bland as bland can be. The fish and chips were over battered and the Atlantic cod though cooked perfectly through was tasteless. The chips (fries) were flavorless as well. The panko fried shrimp and broccoli was bland as well. The broccoli florets were blanched in water with no salt or seasonings whatsoever and when you do that ladies and gentlemen it produces tasteless food. The only way to salvage our meals was the well stocked condiment trays before us complete with malt vinegar as well. I wish I would had chosen something else but based on these two dishes I doubt I will be back for the food. The drinks may be another story. My recommendation would be to eat someplace else before coming here to spare your taste buds from being disappointed. read more

What's not to like? Local, family owned, been around forever? Unfortunately, I have some gripes. When I first "found" this place it was my go to gem. Plexiglass abound as we were right in the middle of pandemic crazy but this place was great and I couldn't complain even if I wanted to... restaurants were struggling to survive. My last few visits kept getting worse each time. Food quality dropped. Orders prepared wrong. Taste went out the door. I called in for takeout and casually mentioned the problems from last time, and it was as if the cook said "now I'll show you something to complain about". Our burgers burnt on one side, raw on the other. A big FU. Threw it all away and called the manager the next day, owner's daughter who took over. Left a message that wasn't returned. Called again and was put on hold for ten minutes... she never came to the phone after the person who answered called. Not a great response and cost them a decent customer as well as I never refer them to people looking for a good place. It seems that the bar is lively and the customers interesting, I've had a few great conversations having a beer waiting for my food but my buddy stopped going as he felt very unwelcome. I hope they can get back to the restaurant I once lauded and enjoyed, for their sake but I won't be back. When a customer calls (2x) about a completely ruined $100 take out order and you can't be bothered to reply then you are telling them what you think. I heard her loud and clear and replaced her. Nice menu but can't execute anything. Burger was bone dry and looked raw. Fries were also undercooked.

We had the fish and chips on Good Friday. They were by far the worst fish n chips We have ever had . Absolutely AWFUL. The batter was mushy and the fish had no taste to it what so ever. I would suggest having a burger or something else but whatever you do AVOID THE FISH AND CHIPS!!! I did like the local pub feel of the place but was highly disappointed with our meal. The only place in the world to get really great chili-cheese fries to eat with Kelly's mixed house salad. This is a regular go-to place for locals though out of area visitors always appear to be welcomed. Friendly bartenders and waitstaff. If dining alone, snag a dinner seat at the bar; you'll never lack for conversation at this restaurant. The safest bet (besides the fries mentioned above) is a medium rare cheeseburger.
