Went for easter with family and it's a cozy restaurant. The service was fast considering it was a full house and on a holiday. We got the calamari (forgot a pic) which was really good. Also tried the baked ham, coconut shrimp salad and omelette - they were all tasty! They also gave complimentary banana bread which was ok maybe since it wasn't fresh off the oven - unsure if that is a regular thing or since it was a holiday. I came here the other day for a special lunch with my family. We started off with the buffalo cauliflower which was delicious, one of the best i've ever had! Three of us also ordered the french onion soup, which they reportedly said wasn't very good, not very flavorful and somewhat sour. I then ordered the corned beef rueben sandwich and the truffle honey flatbread. The reuben was great and the fries were delicious, but I wasn't too impressed by the flatbread. It needed more flavor and lacked honey. My brother ordered a burger which he really enjoyed, although it came on an english muffin which he wasn't a big fan of. My dad really enjoyed his salad as well. For desert we split the sticky toffee cake which was very yummy and sweet. Our server was wonderful and came to check on multiple times. The manager was also very friendly and wonderful to talk with! They had plenty of handicap parking and an elevator on the ground floor which was perfect for my grandmother who wasn't sure she could walk up all the stairs. The interior is very nice, but we were disappointed to see how loud it was inside. They are very accommodating for big groups and even have an event space on the third floor, but we found it was just too loud for our party. read more

Stopped by this restaurant for a quick meal with family on a late summer afternoon. We sat outside, which allowed for us to bring our dog. The patio was super cute, and shady for the weather. Our server was attentive and sweet. She even brought us a water bowl for our pup. There were a lot of options on the menu for different types of diets. I got a few vegetarian sides to make a meal. Admittedly I am slightly biased here. The manager (one of them), is a long time friend and industry veteran who worked here a ways back and is reprising his role. I am sure James Brown will bring all good things here. Since we were here last, they added an elevator (finally) and updated the menu. Tremendous improvement when compared to prior visits. On a Saturday night visit the four of us thoroughly enjoyed our dinners. Our shared starters included the Crispy Brussel Sprouts with bacon and honey as well as the "Lex Meatballs" (Roasted Tomato Cream & Romano Cheese). Both were uniquely delicious - Our main courses fared even better. Menu selections included the "Parmesan Crusted Lemon Sole"; the "Teriyaki Glazed Ahi Tuna" as well as the "Sesame Crusted Sea Scallops and "Pan Seared Faroe Island Salmon". The shared Desert Sampler was a perfect ending to a fine meal. Service was spot on for most of the evening however restaurant was packed at meals end resulting in additional wait time. read more

I came here with my grandparents for a fun Saturday night outing and I was very happy with my experience. Our waitress, Danielle was really kind, informative, and accommodating. When I inquired about the burger with a gluten-free bun, I was instantly informed that the bun had cheese in it, and even though that's highly unusual for a gluten-free bun and I wasn't too happy about that, I was very impressed with her knowledge on the menu and could tell that she really cared about accommodating the needs of the restaurant's customers. I asked her for her recommendation, and she let me know that the rice bowl with any type of protein was really good. I am never against a good rice bowl so that's the choice I went with, and it was delicious. I was also able to substitute the straight avocado with guacamole. My grandparents also ordered the chicken sandwiches and they were very happy with their meals. I also ordered a virgin bloody mary and a diet coke. Both of the drinks were good, and I loved the way the bloody mary was made. I even got a taste of the bloody mary with alcohol in it, and it was good too. I've been to this restaurant before, and I've only seen their brunch menu but this time around I got to try their dinner menu, which was just as good. This restaurant is great! read more

The Lexington Square Cafe has all the features of a fancy restaurant. Valet parking, great table service, beautiful bar and decorations, and delicious desserts. The food however, was a bit lacking in my opinion. The biggest issue was a lot of dishes were under-salted. They did have table salt to use so we were able to correct that ourselves. The portions were also a bit small for the price. We started off with the crispy brussel sprouts appetizer with the hot honey on the side (because my mom doesn't like spicy food). They were cooked very well with crispy bacon bits. The hot honey was very mild and I think could've been mixed in. However, they were in desperate need of salt. The bacon helped a bit though. I had a skirt steak special with garlic mash and grilled asparagus. The steak was cooked to a perfect medium rare and the potatoes were delicious. The steak had great flavor and was nice and tender. However, the steak was lacking a good sear. The asparagus were slightly undercooked and needed salt desperately as well. The rosemary demi glace was the star and tied everything together. My mother got the filet mignon wrap, one of her favorites. The filet was supposed to be medium rare, but was closer to rare/bleu rare. It was still mooing. My mother didn't mind at all and enjoyed the wrap very much. The fries that came on her plate were nice and crispy but also desperately calling out for some salt. The food was saved by the desserts which were honestly to die for. The key lime pie torte was not on the menu but they had one in the back. It is my mom's favorite and was so good. We also split a warm tollhouse cookie sundae which was great too. I wish there was a little more cookie on the plate and a larger scoop of ice cream. The flavors of the dessert were the perfect way to end the night. My suggestion would be to order one of the sandwiches which have bolder flavors and a better price point. I had a wonderful lunch here with my mother. I ordered the Lexington chopped salad and my mom had the Panko crusted sole sandwich. The sandwich was phenomenal, on top of a wonderful pillowy ciabatta roll. The fish was crunchy and absolutely delicious. My salad was very tasty with a nice crunch of hearts of palm and a wonderful creamy goat cheese. Service was good and the restaurant itself is very pretty. I will definitely be back. read more

Really disappointed with this restaurant. Took my family out after my daughter's school performance and it started bad the moment we sat down. A former employee directed us to this restaurant and so happy she did. Service was good but felt rushed. Saturday night and busy with Christmas parties. Plates were removed as we finished with a dish, it felt like the staff keep checking to see when the table would be available. Out in about a little over an hour with starter. Waiter argued with me over side dish of Brussel sprouts, I wanted their appetizer version Crispy Brussel Sprouts With Bacon & Hot Honey With our dinners. Got plain side dish which were so, so. Like frozen. Sticky Rock Shrimp Sweet Chili, Basil, Sesame Seeds & Celery Root Slaw starter was large, filling and very good. Braised Beef Short Ribs Mushroom Risotto, Crispy Onions, Natural Jus was melt in your mouth delicious. Had their Mahi Mahi in a lobster cooz cooz (sp). Lots of lobster. Excellent. Portions were large. Prices I felt for quality and quantity well worth it. Service 2 to 3 stars, Food 6+ stars. I would recommend this place for their food experience. I've been to the Lexington Square Cafe a few times for lunch and dinner and each time was great; the buffalo cauliflower and all of their fish dishes are incredible. We decided that we'd use the venue for our daughter's baby naming, and were delighted that we were given the same delicious food and good service. We had about 35 adults and a handful of young kids, and the space upstairs was perfect. The seating was comfortable, the space was great (the carpet has stars and it was very cute), we brought in our own balloons, and the team even printed out custom menus for our guests. We had the whole upstairs space from 11:30-3:30, which was crazy - that's a ton of time, and for the price per person, it was really a great value. read more

We enjoyed Lexington Square. The atmosphere is conservatively posh, and definitely attractive to an older clientele. That said there were a few tables of younger diners there too. The food was excellent, and the service was great. We had the taco appetizer and crab cake appetizer which were good. They used too much guacamole though. I thought the tacos were a bit on the raw side, but good as a carpaccio. I had the hangar steak which was excellent, and my wife had the kale salad. She had the sweet potato fries too. She loved them. We had three drinks between us and with the tip we were well over $170 dollars which to me is on the pricey side, but you get what you pay for. All and all I'd go again, but I'll try other places too. read more

It was my first time here for dinner. They had a large selection of salads, pasta and meat. It was a cozy and clean inside. I was with a group of 4 people. We started off with dumplings and buffalo cauliflower which were delicious. I got the fettuccini with shrimp and scallops, nice and creamy and enough to fill you up but not stuff you. To drink I got an apple caramel mule, which was delicious. For dessert we got the apple crisp with ice cream. The service was good and timely. I would surely come back to try brunch and lunch. Tried this last night as it has been around a long time and I have been there before once or twice. The restaurant is beautiful but the food was not as good as I remembered. Calamari for an appetizer was very good. We tried the special: pesto cream sauce cavatelli with lobster. Sounds great....but the lobster pieces were so small that you hardly tasted it. I was expecting a nice size couple of pieces and was a bit disappointed. Dessert was great, highly recommend the toll house cookie cake. It truly pains me to write this update...this has been my go-to restaurant for a few years now. I have been hoping for a while now that it's just undergoing "growing pains" of some sort, but my most recent visit was the clincher. Being realistic, as we came out of lockdown I accepted higher prices/smaller portions might creep in...but not markedly higher/smaller! I was also shocked to be greeted with some kind of exasperation, as if we were unwelcome. Have always enjoyed coming here and still do. I'm not that adventurous with going out to eat with Covid but they do socially distance. It's unfortunate that some of the customers run into their friends and decide to walk over to tables and pull off their mask. Makes me crazy! If you are not seated and you are physically standing, PUT ON YOUR MASK!!!! These poor workers have to wear it all day and you can't wear it for a couple of damn minutes. Food is consistently good. However, the service is consistently terrible. Waiters are always rude, unprofessional and have no clue what they are doing. Last time we had a dinner a few weeks ago, the waiter put a $3.00 charge on credit card instead of $73.00. When I pointed this out to the waiter, he was obviously upset that he made a big mistake but never had the common courtesy to apologize and thank for being honest. Not a great way to treat a customer who saved him from getting in trouble. In fact he went so far as to say that this happens often. read more

Eddie, the manager, delivered outstanding attention to the group and our waitress Allie was amazing and so sweet, thankful for her recommendation. Danielle made us delicious cocktails; highly recommend the cranberry mule. We ordered an array of dishes and enjoyed them all. The buffalo cauliflower is a must! My sister devoured the Grilled Chicken Rice Bowl and the little ones loved their flatbread pizzas while the rest of group ordered the Southwest Chicken Sandwich, steak, and Lemon Sole Sandwich. Had dinner here yesterday and ordered the Teriyaki Glazed Ahi Tuna. The tuna was cooked perfectly, with a crusty sear on the outside and a deep red rare interior. The teriyaki sauce was just right, not too salty. My one complaint is the noodles it was served over. The menu says served with soba noodles which, in my past experiences, are firm and grainy/hearty with a beige/grayish tinge to them. I'm pretty sure the tuna was served over wheat or egg noodles as they were very light colored and had no toothiness to them, just sort of fell apart as you chewed. I have been there four or five times. I have never gotten a good meal. My friends order fish and love the place. I order crab cakes, no good. Steak sandwich dried out even though I asked for medium rare. Waitress didn't care less when I told her it was not could. Didn't want to complain in front of my friends and ruin their evening, but they agreed I should have sent it back. I can't remember all the other meals because they were a year or so ago. I refused to order a meal there when I dine with my friends. I will order dessert. Even the cappuccino was weak like water, this my friends agreed on. Better cappuccino at the diner. I was looking for places to dine outside with my mother and dog. I am not an idiot to assume just anywhere would accept -- most indeed do not. I spent a lot of time calling places to find a dog friendly establishment that would fit the dietary needs of my mother and had outdoor seating! My dog is young and suffers from separation anxiety and I cannot leave him alone without hiring a sitter. So I seek out establishments that allow him to join. I called TWICE the week before, first asking whether they allow dogs on their outdoor patio and second to make the reservation (post peak, late dinner) where I again made clear I would be bringing my well behaved dog. I also called the day before to push the reservation back and AGAIN noted I would have my dog. I had dined just 2 days earlier at one of their sister restaurants in Darien, CT with my dog and had a fantastic experience. (Ten Twenty) When we pulled up, there was no signage or indication that you could not self park. The valet came running after me shouting I needed to valet. I was not the only one. Everyone was confused and the valet was nothing more than a makeshift key rack in the trunk of a car. The valet said nothing when we got out with the dog. There were no areas to enter the patio except to go in the front entrance. We went in and I intentionally stood barely inside the entryway with my dog because I am conscious of health codes and not bothering any guests that may not like the sight of a dog. The host looked at us and walked away. Didn't acknowledge us, didn't tell us to wait/hold on, nothing. After 4-5 minutes of wait staff walking by, patrons starring, etc, I had my mother walk further inside to catch the host. Finally he acknowledged her and just rebuffed at me from across the room "We don't allow dogs" as though I was an idiot. I told him I'd called multiple times and had a reservation in the patio and was told I could have my dog no problem -- having to nearly shout because he would not come within 20 feet of me as though he was allergic to the situation. He huffed and disappeared to the patio area, accessible only through indoor dining areas. After a minute he came back, snatched 2 menus and mumbled something we could only guess was a rude request to follow him. We made our way past tables of fellow patrons starring (by this point it was quite a scene) to a half empty patio. The host didn't say a word, just dropped the menus on the table and left. After a few minutes of no waitstaff, we decided to just leave. It was the most humiliating and disrespectful experience I've ever had. We high tailed it to Terra in Greenwich before they closed and had a fantastic time in their outdoor seating where waitstaff, patrons and the manager all gladly accepted dining with my dog and made us feel incredibly welcome. We spent extra money getting the dog grilled salmon and left a generous tip. I completely understand if dining establishments do not allow dogs -- I'm not giving them a bad review for not accepting dogs or advocating that they must. Frankly I don't care and agree it's nice to have places that do and do not allow dogs -- just as some hotels and restaurants either cater to families with kids or adult only. But if you are going to publicly advertise and hold your place out as being dog friendly, and go so far as tell someone explicitly it's no problem, and allow them to make a reservation noting you are bringing a dog, do NOT treat them like scum when they, oh I don't know, show up with their dog!!! I spoke to THREE different people prior to showing up, each of whom said no problem. That host was the biggest jerk ever and should not be fired since he clearly doesn't appreciate that it is his role that sets the tone for the restaurant, and is supposed to greet guests without disdain, even if he either doesn't like them or ultimately turns them away -- even if he just decided that night the place was not going to be dog friendly, there are a dozen ways he could have communicated it to us without making a scene, embarrassing and humiliating me in front of the other patrons, and without making us feel like leppards. 95% of dining out is for the ambience, service and experience. If you want good food, go to a famous chef or cook at home. Otherwise, go somewhere whose staff and management are worth supporting. read more
