Lovely preserved historic train station with rich architectural finishes in spacious high ceiling to enjoy delicious prepared dishes. Very helpful staff explained large group options, dishes were deliciously seasoned, very attentive waiters keeping our waters filled with no lag in services. Looking forward to coming back for bridal shower - a definite recommendation!

Modern on the Rails is a solid dinner spot. It's a great location and the ambiance/decor is a total vibe. It's definitely got an upscale feel, while also not being stuffy or fancy. You could easily go here for dinner in jeans and not feel out of place, but also if you wanted to dress up for a date night or special occasion, it would also be appropriate. The space is also really nice and is a good option if you were having a larger group or wanted to do a celebratory meal. The staff is friendly and attentive. The food is solid and the price is reasonable for what you are getting. They brought over bread to start and the bread was nice and warm. We started with the burrata app which weirdly came with 3 pieces of medium bread (same as the basket, but toasted or grilled). It felt like it should have been smaller crostini type bread and also more pieces given the app, but it didn't matter because we had the warm bread basket. The app itself was nice, but not overly special. For dinner we had the burger and the squid ink pasta with salmon. The burger was good, but the sweet potato fries needed any kind of seasoning, even salt. The pasta was the best dish of the night. The salmon was cooked perfectly, the sauce was delicious and the pasta was great. Overall, I would definitely come back here again. It's a nice spot with reasonable prices, great ambiance and service, and the food is solid.

the ambiance was great but the service was slow. The restaurant was practically empty when we got there towards the end is when it got busy. My main entrée which was the lobster and steak was honestly very mid and I expected more for a restaurant that's priced at the way they are. The drink and the appetizer is the best thing.

What a great experience! Really nice decor and ambiance in the room. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. Our waiter made several recommendations, which were great. The manager came by halfway through the meal to check on us, I always appreciate that. I had the mozzarella sticks to start and my wife had the Caesar salad. I know mozzarella sticks are simple, but when they are done correctly you notice the difference. These were perfect. For our mains I had the Lobster ravioli and my wife had the roasted chicken. Both were great. The sauce with the chicken was especially tasty. For dessert I had the Italian donuts (zeppolis) and my wife had the chocolate chip cookie. Delicious!! The price was very reasonable. If we're in the area again we will definitely be back! Highly recommend this place!

Had a wonderful experience here. We came for a private party and the service was outstanding. The food was very good too. It was brunch and I especially enjoyed the French toast. The penne a la vodka was a huge hit too.

Music was a tad load and somewhat annoying. Service was good. Chairs comfortable My chicken Parmesan was generously sized, perfectly seasoned, cooked just right. Calamari was Cosmopolitan Bruschetta was a like a pizza!

This place is like Goldilocks. I ordered the Lamb T-bone. First it came out overcooked. Then it came out RAW and not cooked at all. The third time, it came out just right. It took 40 minutes to bring me overcooked lamb, 10 minutes to bring me a raw lamb, and another 7minutes to properly cook it. They also failed to rest the meat. The service was good and so are the espresso martinis (no Baileys). The owner came out and apologized for the lamb and took our drinks off the bill which was very nice. The ambiance here is very nice. Most people will like this place.

Celebrated my mom's birthday at Modern on the Rails. The calamari and garlic bread were fantastic! I enjoyed the truffle chicken. The desserts are pretty small, but good. My aunt and grandmother enjoyed the burger, but said the sweet potato fries were a bit bland. Service was great. The staff was very attentive and came over often to make sure everything was okay.

My sister and I ordered food, before anyone else came into the restaurant. My latte came in a soup bowl. I could barely pick it up. We ordered the pancakes and eggs. I was worried it would be too sweet because it included sprite and cranberry juice, but it was actually very pleasant and bursting with flavor. For my main, I had the frittata. It was tasty. Some of the broccoli rabe was a little tough to chew, but not too bad. It was topped with a generous portion of cheese. I loved the tender mushrooms. My husband got the cozze. The portion of mussels was large and he enjoyed the sauce. We also shared the cinnamon french toast, which was delicious. It didn't even need syrup as it was perfectly sweet with the cream and berries on top. Even so, they had several syrups to choose from including amber and maple. Looking forward to coming back to try the dinner menu.

The dining room was moderately packed, but with a reservation we were seated right away. Street parking can be tight, but there's ample parking in the rear and valet was available that night, which made things easy. The space feels modern and open, with a strong bar program and a solid list of specialty cocktails. My Smoked Old Fashioned arrived releasing a rich, smoky aroma that immediately set the tone. We started with Alessia's Crostone and the Hot Antipasto, a generous spread of shrimp, baked clams, calamari, mussels, and eggplant parm. I ordered the Frutti di Mare, and they did not hold back on the seafood. Clams, mussels, calamari, and shrimp layered over pasta in a bright marinara made for a balanced, satisfying dish. Others had the Shrimp Milanese, crisp and vibrant with arugula and red wine vinaigrette. Portions are ample, service is attentive without rushing you, and the restaurant has a warmth that's hard to fake. When birthdays are celebrated, the sparkler candle and music bring the whole room together. This remains one of our go-to spots.

We will usually stay with a spot for a few years, grow tired of it, and then try somewhere new. That is what brought us to 25 North. For the preceding three Easters, we were at another restaurant in Westchester - however it grew stale. I decided to look at other options, and remember having a great meal here at 25 North back in 2018 when I originally wrote my review. That being said, we booked it and made plans to dine here for Easter Sunday dinner. As I expected being a holiday, I walked into a crowded and loud restaurant. The layout is interesting - the dining room is separated into three levels with a small flight of stairs separating each of them. We were seated on the top level of the dining area, which was the best place in my opinion as it was the quietest- we were 19 people and only two other tables were in our vicinity. Decor was inoffensive - typical Westchester Italian restaurant aesthetics. What I liked about the Easter service at 25 North was that we were able to order off the regular menu - though they did have a few specials for the holiday. We decided to order apps family style for the table: drunken clams, string bean salad, sausage and broccoli rabe rolls, and fried calamari. These were all solid; the drunken clams were by far my favorite - super flavorful sauce and served with sausage and big cloves of garlic. The weakest IMO were the sausage and broccoli rabe rolls - I will say its partly because I expected more of a bread roll, but these were like egg rolls which made them a little to greasy for me. The sauce it came with though was tasty with a mild heat. For my main I got one of their specials - crab stuffed shrimp. This was six generally stuffed shrimp served on top of spinach in a light sauce. I really liked this dish - even though it looked like a lot, the crabmeat was light and the spinach made it so I didn't feel stuffed after finishing the dish. For dessert, I had tiramisu - on the menu they described it as a slice of goodness and that's exactly what it was. Service was great - they were on top of it and made sure food came out at a good pace and we were fully taken care of. Overall, my holiday experience at 25 North solidified my opinion that this is one of the best Italian restaurants in Westchester. I'll definitely be back sooner rather than later.
