It was the best decision I could have ever made. One dog had sautéed onions and chili; another dog had fried onions and chili; and the last dog had bacon, mayo, and ketchup with red and green peppers. All three were off the chain delicious and I would order all three or then when. The staff were nice and friendly and the service was quick. First off, anything with the chili is spot on. I love that it is actually spicy. It's definitely medium plus spicy for most people. The only thing is that it's more like dry spicy beef chunks than a wet chili. I recommend the chili dog, comes with a split dog and pickle inside. Burger comes in a strangely hearty bun with smaller patty. Chili fries need cheese as it helps things adhere together. I have always been a HUGE fan of Hubbas over in Port Chester, NY and will forever be their biggest fan. I knew that Texas Chili had the same owner or was associated with them but had never gone. I was in Mamaroneck with some friends at a bar, and we decided to get some food at around 1am. After stumbling in I noticed the dollar bills on the wall and I immediately realized where I was. One Chili Cheeseburger and "Hubba" water later, and I was announcing my love for the woman serving us and proposing we run away together, so long as she could make these everyday. After hearing the rave reviews and all the hype and drinking enough beer I gave it a try and never looked back. Hubbas was a lunch and late night must in my high school and college days. Spicy chili with no beans and slices of yellow american cheese atop everything from burgers and fries to chicken cutlet and onion rings. Its heaven if you like spicy greasy mess on fresh NY bread. That being said, Texas Chili in Mamaroneck has without a doubt done it the best and most efficient way to date. The owner was always the cook at Hubbas.
