What a shame this place is going downhill. The venue is lovely and I appreciate food you wouldn't find normally find at an airport. When I first tried the place out, they had a top quality five spiced pork belly. Unfortunately the last two times I've had it, it was dry and nothing out of the ordinary. Expensive food. Incredibly disappointing experience. Only after ordering did we actually look at Yelp, and we wished we had done it beforehand. Again the Vermicelli Bowl was a ridiculous joke of a dish, and the $18 price tag only added insult to injury. It was tiny, it was basically just vermicelli, 5 shrimp, a lettuce leaf, and 3 strands of sprouts. No green onions or peanuts at all (which was clearly stated on the menu description). My husband ordered the Banh Mi and was super disappointed: a bunch of meat stuffed in a lump of bread... no seasonings, no garnishes. It's clear that airport prices are steep, but in this case we felt completely ripped off. Stick to the brand names, even if it is fast food. At least you'll know what to expect and won't be stuck with a $50 + tag. read more

Wow! Excellent food! And to think it's at an Airport!! We had the breakfast menu (before 11am) and I ordered the chicken fried rice with fried egg- yummy!! Had about 25 minutes to catch a flight ordered a hamburger and was then told " we have no hot food" So ordered a couple of bloody Mary's with olive and celery..... Arrived 30 minutes prior to boarding, and the hostess by the menu display was very kind and helpful. She found out how long the food I want would take to be prepared (20 minutes) and suggested to have it to go. I had never ordered through iPad, so she walked over to one station and showed me step by step until I completed my order. When I thanked her, she responded "This is why I am here for. Enjoy you meal." with a big smile. That already made me want to come back again to this restaurant next time I travel. I ordered crab cake Eggs Benedict. Price was high, but for the airport, I think it is normal. And since I did not want cold food or fast food, yet not too much time to spare, this restaurant was an oasis. They packed the food in 3 separate containers; one for salad, one for potatoes, and one for the Benedict. So food was still warm when I was seated inside the airplane, and thanks to the separate containers, all food tasted how it should be (no mixed up mess). I would like to thank whoever decided to open this place in IAH (I would love to go to one if they open inside the city), and thank you to the wonderful hostess and cook and manager who made my trip extra special. read more

Would have given it lower but I had to pick 1 star. I have no idea how the food tastes. We sat down and ordered about 45 minutes before our flight was scheduled to board, which was only two gates away. After 20 minutes and no food, we asked to have our order canceled. It took another 10-15 minutes for a manager to come by and cancel the order. The gentlemen next to us had the same problem but he couldn't wait for the manager so he just left and they brought his food out after he left. He also had a drink order that was doubled. My husband and I were in yesterday before our flight took off around 4:15pm. It was our first time in and we didn't know to order at the iPad. Someone finally came over to show us. We realized we couldn't change the item to remove the lettuce and sauce so we asked another guy. He said he would notify the kitchen. We noticed it was taking unusually long so we asked another guy to check because we were going to have to cancel. We told him to check on the roast beef po'boy. It's "Plain with meat and cheese only". 10-12 minutes later I told my husband to cancel and get a refund because we could not miss our flight! They told us the kitchen was bagging it. Well we get on the plane and his sandwich is made with all the lettuce and the garlicky sauce with no cheese and NO fries as pictured. Tremendous disappointment, and now that I read others' reviews, I see a pattern of pre-charging people and then not refunding for errors that the restaurant makes. I made the mistake of ordering spring rolls, and after one bite, I asked, "Is the shrimp fresh?" Although I was assured that it was, it tasted so bad that I sent it back. The waitress assured me that the charge would be removed from my bill, but...surprise! It was not taken off the bill. It is not worth hassling the management for my refund. I don't usually write nasty reviews of businesses, but this restaurant deserves it. The food was inedible, and I was not credited for food I sent back after one bite. Waitress said she could not issue a paper refund but that I DEFINITELY would get a refund. Too bad she wasn't telling me the truth. I also thoroughly resented tipping BEFORE service was given. That problem, too, is mentioned in other reviews. With all the negative reviews this place has received, I would expect it not to last much longer. One can only hope. RUN and PASS THIS PLACE. The food at Bam Bam was great! I was totally surprised at the quality...I had some really good sushi - never thought I'd say that about sushi in an airport. I was a little skeptical about the iPad ordering system at first, but we given a quick tutorial by our server, Sydni. After we ordered and received our food, we were checked on by Sydni several times and she even spent some time with us talking about Houston and the restaurant, in general. Sydni was very attentive, friendly, and professional. I even heard another customer who was leaving after his meal tell her that he was amazed at how she was able to handle all of her tables (they also serve tables through the iPad ordering system outside of the restaurant in the terminal) and that he thought she was awesome. Stopped by here for breakfast on a Friday morning around 6 am. The place is near Gate C6 in the C terminal at IAH. It was very well lit it up, had a large seating area with both normal and tall table and chairs. I must have been the first customer of the day. I just wanted a traditional breakfast although this is presented as a Vietnamese restaurant. So there are traditional US breakfast primarily with a smaller offering of Vietnamese dishes. The service was very good I must say. The young lady made sure to walk me through the process and also informed me of a new feature that allows me to order from one of the small convenience stores in the airport and they would deliver to my table. This is another restaurant where you order and pay per Ipad on the table. The price was high as typical in an airport and always makes the overall value seem poor although this is par for the course. The quality of the food was fine although I will say the menu did not properly describe what came with my omelet. It did not show any sides so I ordered toast and when the food came there was the toast I ordered with the toast that came with the omelette. Not a huge deal but a small irritant when the price of everything is high. read more

I had Syndi as a waitress, she was spectacular and warm. Will visit again. Great setting and the food was expensive but worth it! Great variety of not only foods but also drinks. I sat at the table for well close to three hours due to a long layover and i felt taken care of the entire time. They didnt once forget about me & the food arrived in an incredibly timely manner. I walked in and asked to do a to go order. The waitress said I had to use the iPad and she couldn't help. So sat down and tried to figure it out. Asked another waitress how to use the system and she ignored me. Finally got my order in and paid, then waited over 45 minutes for food. I was about to miss my flight so I asked another waitor to help. He finally went over and found they hadn't even started it yet. The place was not busy either. The staff was lazy, terrible, dismissive, and worst of all slow. It's an airport! People need food fast. The food is supposed to be Vietnamese-inspired I guess and I would say it was poorly executed. Like how my side salad was smothered in like 100% pure super duper salty fish sauce. Yikes.. that should've been diluted. And the sandwich wasn't great either, the bread was too hard, and there wasn't enough vegetables just one thin sliver of cucumber and one even thinner sliver of bell pepper.
