I always love when their is a little hangover of the chicken outside of the bun. The chicken was crispy but juicy inside. The heat was there but totally bearable with the cooling component of the delicious slaw on top. I usually pick pickles off sandwiches, but the pickles here were good and the acidity added a pleasant touch to the sandwich. The waffle fries were also excellent. They were the battered and seasoned kind which I love. The food most definitely saved the overall experience on my visit here. I will say it is one of the better hot chickens I have had in Houston. I think I liked the fried a little better but would be ok with either. Their sides are even better. My order of campero beans were hot and very flavorful. The cole slaw was cool and creamy with a rich taste. Those two were quality side dishes. This is the only outpost of Pollo Campero that I have visited.
