My shrimp either broccoli was missing something with its sauce flavor (it was a little on the lighter side of usually dishes similar to this) and the sauce was very thin so probably won't order that particular dish from here again. I have been going to China Doll since I was a small child. I have never had a single thing there I didn't like. The service has always been wonderful. The family that owns the place never fails to remember my grandparents even though my grandfather has passed and my grandmother is bedridden these days. They are very kind and while the place is not flashy or fancy, it is a bedrock in the community. I will continue to order from here as it is one of the few places in town that includes lesser known dishes. I 10/10 recommend ordering even if it is to go. read more

My favorite Chinese restaurant in the world. The kind that I can sample anything on the menu, and it will be good. The Shrimp Lo Mein is the best, but make sure to get extra shrimp with it. General Tso's has good flavor and big pieces of chicken. Same with the Kung Pao chicken. Their wings aren't greasy but they aren't dry. All of their soups are delicious. Their egg rolls are massive and their crab rangoons are always cooked perfect. This time I decided to try the Triple Delight. It has chicken, shrimp, and beef in a spicy sauce with veggies pork fried rice, and I ordered hot and sour soup. There is also a complimentary egg roll and crab Rangoon that comes with. My husband got his standard of shrimp lo neon but also got an order of house fried rice. Again, it's all good. Full of flavor and LARGE portions. Our whole meal pictured was only $25. The food here was was a touch above just alright. Their plate portions are proportionate to what you expect to get going to a Chinese restaurant. My biggest issue is that after calling in and placing my order and being given a time window to expect the food ready that after arriving well after that window I was still there waiting a while for the food to be ready, even with waiting in line when I got there. I ordered on a lunch so that was rather inconvenient from a time perspective. But that's only a part of my review. The food was solid so don't get me wrong this place is not bad. The location is tucked and not overly inviting but that doesn't reflect on the food. The sweet and sour chicken I got with shrimp fried was hot when I got it and did not disappoint. My first time trying this place. I picked it only because it was the closest to me at the time. Pulling up the first thing I noticed was the sign not working, wasn't sure if the place was open or not. They was a "open" sign in the window so I walked up. As I approached the door I noticed it was blocked by a table and there was a clear tarp hanging inside the front door. A lady on the other side took my order and stuck her hand around the tarp to take my payment. I waited for my order in my car which took about 20 mins. Durning this time I had two different people walk up to my car asking for money, one that would not take no for an answer and kept knocking on my window. Once my food was ready the lady yelled from the tarp to come get my food. I had the sweet and sour chicken and a side order or crab Rangoons. I was really disappointed by the lack of flavor. The chicken was not seasoned and the sweet and sour sauce was water downed. The pork fried rice didn't have any pork and tasted like it was reheated from an old batch. The egg row was suppose to have shrimp and vegetables but also lacked flavor and shrimp. The crab Rangoon had no crab inside. I thought I was getting a good deal by the prices but realized I was getting what I paid for. I'll be adding this place to my "never again" list! read more

A strange place indeed. Let's start with the good: The inside/decor is super cute, very like Hollywood movie Chinese-American hole-in-the-wall-chic. General Tso's Chicken: The General Tso chicken has a weird, corny sweetness to it that is kind of pleasant at first until I realized it tastes kind of like corn dogs?! Mostly dark meat in the chicken, which doesn't really bother me, but it seems to be important to some reviewers. Fried Rice: The veggie fried rice is pretty good in terms of texture but bland in terms of taste. Crab Rangoon: The crab rangoons are too sweet- they taste kind of like runny cheesecake or something. The outside of the crab rangoon is crispy and crunchy and savory and nicely fried, which was great in terms of texture. Too bad is was so darn sweet. Price: General Tso's chicken with veggie fried rice and crab rangoons and black unsweetened iced tea (which was great) came out to $19, which is not cheap for not the best quality meal. I'm glad we stumbled across it viewing through this app to find some Chinese food spots nearby other than having to go to Panda E. The egg rolls are bigger than the average ones you'd typically get and had a good crunch to it. The crab Rangoon were flavorful and crispy. The chicken was juicy and not dried out. This is our go to Chinese joint. Partly because it's easy to get to, and because they do some pretty good food. Personally I like hot, but no one ever really does it hot enough. Here they keep the chili paste on the table so that's a plus. I have lived in this neighbor since 1995 and have been eating at this restaurant for many years now, the food was really great when the owner then was named John, then he sold it to some other family and the food was good but not as great as with John, then these other people took over the place and at first the food was Okay but now that they are not having the dining room open to the public since the epidemic in 2020 till now the food had gotten worse, I call in an order of egg-rolls, pork fired rick and House Special Chow Mein and the egg-roll tasted like that were frozen really bad, the rice looked like it was on a heat light for a long time and the chow mein tasted like something else, I hope that they can get back to the original way of cooking Thanks Edward 08/21/2022 read more

We live far but hubby works close otherwise we would have never tried it here. The people were friendly and the service was great. But the food was so delicious. We started with the bbq pork ribs and they were heavenly. The wonton soup was flavorful which isn't always the case when you have chinese lunch specials. He had the pork egg foo young and I had the general tso's chicken. Their fried rice has veggies and pork which is also unusual because typically you get fried rice in plain egg.
