This cute restaurant and bar had a complicated and limited menu (we have this on this day but not on this day, etc) but the food was really good! I got the whole red snapper and it was HUGE (definitely could not finish it on my own) and very well seasoned, which I appreciate.

Oxtails

NYer here...The patties and rum punch was a HIT! 10/10 recommend! I ordered the oxtails it was decent 7.5/10.

Small and unassuming place. I tried the combo meat- oxtail and curry goat and its very good. The serving is big. I also tried the meat pies, both chicken and beef and it was very good. The service is quick and very friendly.

Caribbean Hot Pot is a local restaurant providing Jamaican cuisine. I had the curry goat, rice and peas, cabbage, plantains and a beef patty. The food is 10/10, I definitely recommend. The portions are also quite ample. I ordered the large and had more than enough food for 2 meals. If you're in the mood for Caribbean food give them a try

This IS my favorite Jamaican restaurant in Houston and it's not even close. This was the first Jamaican place I tried many years ago and since then I've tried a number of other other places and they just haven't hit the same for me. I've tried places that are staples and even a place that was directly recommended by a Jamaican but they just weren't Caribbean Hot Pot. I have not tried the full extent of their menu but I can say that not once have I not enjoyed what I've eaten. I'm pretty ordinary in my typical order from here, as I usually get a large Jerk Chicken plate. They are my favorite jerk chicken because it's not dry and is very flavorful. They also aren't stingy with the jerk sauce and literally the way they serve their jerk chicken is how I expect the dish to be served. The plate comes rice and peas, plantains and a carrot and cabbage mix. Again all of these are delicious to me. The rice and peas are cooked well and pair well with the jerk sauce over it. The plantains are cooked to a nice texture that really pulls out the flavor to me. I don't like overly soft plantains and theirs is a nice balance. The carrot and cabbage mix is well flavored and for a vegetable side feels indulgent, instead of like something you should be eating for a healthy balance. The patties are honestly a mandatory for me. I've literally called and been told they didn't have any left and decided to wait until another day. That's not to say the main meal isn't worth eating alone but the patties are just the kiss over the top that I need. I like the chicken patty but the beef patty is just love. I'm guaranteed to get at least two and not want to share them. Their Curry Goat is also a very delicious meal but I no longer eat goat but if I did it is definitely worth trying. There are many other items I want to give a try just because of how much I enjoy my typical order but I love my normal order so much that it's hard to not get it. From a service standpoint there are times when more customer friendliness is desired but other times it is cool. Perhaps it's a cultural thing at times so I'm okay with it as long as they keep doing what they do in the kitchen. The vibe of the place is cool and has an authentic feel and I don't think I've spoken to anyone there who doesn't have a Jamaican accent and that makes me feel good that I'm getting real Jamaican food. They have music flowing there at times and it can really just have a good feel. They also have other locations now and a food truck that has come in clutch for me after a night out. This location is really in the cut and not a big sign but it is more than worth the extra look to pull in for a bite or two or twenty.

Curry Goat House Special

So the goat curry was tasty and had just the right amount of spice. It also included cabbage, but it needed like 2-3 more minutes of cooking. However, for the first time I actually enjoyed the seasoning on the cabbage. Other experiences with local Caribbean restaurants the cabbage came off as an after thought with minimal flavor. This version was good so I didn't mind the crunchy cabbage as much. The rice and peas was flavorful, but was just too soft for my liking. Back to the curry goat portion was good for the price however I was annoyed by the bones that were served with no meat attached. If I was a dog I would be ecstatic but unfortunately I'm not so that is my only issue. The staff was nice and friendly. I popped in for a quick lunch and enjoyed the music also. Please stop by and try them out.

Rice and oxtail taste fine and then I seen this roach in my food, will not be go back

The food was fine until I spot a roach half through the rice, will be going back for a refund.will not be eating here every again.

Food was really good. They provided enough food for your buck. However, the customer service needs work.

One of the best Jamaican spots I found in Houston being from NYC where it's the capital of Caribbean culture.

Bluewater Seafood - Spring

Bluewater Seafood has quickly become my family's go-to spot whenever we're craving seafood…read more We usually get two orders of The Bluewater Boil combo, which comes with crab, shrimp, crawfish, sausage, potatoes, and corn. I highly recommend the spicy flavor. Everything is fresh, tasty, and well-seasoned. The restaurant has a lively and casual atmosphere that makes it a great spot for family dinners. It's always packed, but we never have to wait too long to get seated. The service is great, and the staff is friendly and accommodating. I'm already looking forward to my next visit!

We came to Bluewater Seafood because Babe was craving seafood, and let me tell you... this…read moreexperience started off a little shaky but managed to pull itself together. We were seated at immediately, but after sitting for a few minutes with no greeting, I realized something wasn't right. I had to walk back to the hostess stand to let them know we hadn't been assigned a server. Turns out, we were seated in a section that didn't even have a server until 5:00 PM. That's not a small oversight--that's a breakdown in communication at the front. Now, to their credit, once our server stepped in, things started to turn around. Drinks came out quickly. I ordered my usual Long Island, and I loved that it was served in a branded mason jar--cute touch, definitely added to the vibe. (Still wondering if I was supposed to keep it or not ) We started with appetizers: The crawfish pistolet was the standout. Flavorful, rich, and honestly the best thing we had. My only complaint is they needed a little more bread to balance all that filling. The fried green tomatoes were cooked well and the portion was generous (almost two whole tomatoes), but they were under-seasoned. I had to add salt and rely on the sauce to bring them to life. Now let's talk about the menu--it's huge. We're talking seafood, burgers, fried chicken, boils, ceviche... everything but the kitchen sink. And while options are nice, it does make you question how fresh everything really is when a restaurant is trying to do that much. Overall, this place felt like it was trying to recover from a rough start--and partially succeeded. There are definitely some highlights (that pistolet!), but also some inconsistency that keeps it from being a full win. Final verdict: 3.5-4 stars. Come for the seafood favorites, but they've got some tightening up to do on service flow and seasoning.
