Absolutely the worst meal I've ever had. We took one bite and spit it out and left. The bbq was dry with a tad of blan sauce on it. Shrimp was just as blan.

Shrimp was really good. The fish breading could've been just a lil better but great experience!

Terrible just terrible. Avoid this place if you can. We left $30 worth of food on the table.

My favorite place for Peking duck around the Houston area. It's a little farther out, but I usually…read morestop by whenever I'm driving to or from AIH. The duck is roasted for hours, so the skin comes out nice and crispy without being too greasy. I also like that the remaining duck is made into a soup afterward. It's simple, hearty, and especially good on a colder day. I've tried several other dishes here, and they've all been solid and remind me of the Chinese food I grew up eating. The servers have always been attentive and friendly, and the restaurant is spacious, so it's a good spot for family dinners or larger groups.

Unfortunately, I shouldn't have ignored the average reviews, as this is what it turned out to be. I had lunch at Bambi House this last Friday for the first time. I was disappointed for a couple of reasons: my Orange chicken was basically mostly tempura and very thin slices of chicken. I had purchased the orange chicken, which was $9.85, with egg fried rice. The chicken was average in flavor, but as I mentioned before, the chicken was in thin slices; therefore, I mostly had tempura drowned in the orange chicken sauce. The fried rice was bland in flavor. Honestly, I agree: half and the re w the rest away. Admittedly, all of the 5-star reviews I read praised the duck, so perhaps that's what they're really good at. Unfortunately, I will probably never be back, because thin slices of chicken don't meet my expectations.

I try to hit Pappadeaux's and luckily, I had just…read moreenough time to stop through one of my favorite airport restaurants and just restaurants of all time. This visit didn't disappoint. It was midday in the airport and so it was fairly busy, and I was a bit worried that there would be a wait that would prevent me from making my connection which I only had about an hour to make. But once I arrived at the restaurant and took the elevator upstairs, I was immediately seated at the bar and was eating food within 15 minutes of arriving. And as always, Pappadeaux's does not disappoint. Everything was fresh. The Poboy bread was authentic, soft and crusty just like I like it and the Greek salad is a meal in of itself. Now this is definitely a bit more expensive than your typical layover lunch but well worth it and I don't know if you will find better white napkin Service in an airport restaurant then they do at Pappadeaux's. Can't say enough about this spot.

This should have been clearly stated (as a warning) on this Pappadeaux location's website, as well as on the main Pappadeaux website that helps you to find locations near you. But, Pappadeaux failed us by having no such warning anywhere, and instead had a map and directions to this restaurant as if it were any of the chain's other, normal restaurants. This location shouldn't even count as a Pappadeaux, since it is basically just a "food court" eatery. This mischaracterization of this location (on the Pappadeaux websites) ruined our plans to meet our friends from out of town for dinner. Neither of us could even find this "Pappadeaux" location, and had to stop and ask people working around there where it was, which was then that we learned (to our dismay) that it was actually inside the airport, so we couldn't eat there. So, for our "Plan B" that we made on the spur of the moment (thanks to poor communication from Pappadeaux) resulted in us going to a different restaurant to eat. (And that restaurant ended up being much better than Pappadeaux anyway. This whole awful experience has lowered my opinion of Pappadeaux. We used to eat at several of their normal restaurant locations, but after this ordeal, we now never want to eat at a Pappadeaux ever again.

I was staying at a hotel nearby for an early flight the next morning. On the way to the hotel I…read moresaw the sign "Hot Biscuit" and since biscuits are one of my favorite foods, I decided to walk over and have dinner there. I wanted to start with one biscuit, but the biscuits come in pairs. The waitress said I could order just one anyway, but the order ended up being two. I meant to save the second one for breakfast, but that was not to be. It did not survive long enough to make it out the door. My actual meal was a bacon swiss and mushroom burger, which was excellent. Between the biscuits and the burger, I am forced to acknowledge that it was entirely too much food. Sadly, that did not prevent me from eating all of it anyway. Delicious! The restaurant, which is a diner with very basic decor, is on an approach road to IAH, and is open 24/7. When I arrived in the evening, the place was empty. By the time I left, there were a whole bunch of customers. I noticed in other reviews that people were saying they did not receive checks for their meal and felt they were over-charged at the register. I did not receive a check either, but the amount I was charged at the register seemed accurate -- and I was paying attention because I had read the other reviews first.

I have gone back for nostalgia a few times during the day and the food was still made to order, prices were still reasonably low and the wait staff reminded me of a safe place to get rid of my day and my safe diet. Kinda feels like home, missing your childhood and humble beginnings. Somebody's intoxicated, somebody's on a first date, somebody's passing through, somebody's lost, somebody's on their third meal of the day (motel parking lot adjacent) and the server loves everything about your fancy bracelet or handbag. Sometimes you just need that definitely one of my places for old Times sake. It's humbling. I've yet to try the hot biscuit, but the burger and fries is good anytime.
