    Pappas is a must for me when I am in town for business! Today I had a late lunch. I ordered the Mississippi Catfish & Shrimp Etouffee. It is a generous Catfish Filet, blackened, over a bed of rice paired with Shrimp Etouffee. I absolutely loved this dish and have never been disappointed with Pappas!! Highly recommend!!!

    OMG!! It's a must when in Houston!! Had Angel with garlic shrimp DELISH!! The Ole Fashion was bomb!! Service was excellent and the Calamari was EXCELLENT!! We will be visiting again!! Most definitely!!

    Came for a quick lunch. Service at the bar was quick! Very calm lunch crowd. Clean. Free parking. Sat at the bar and ordered water and a Coke Zero. Also ordered the Atlantic Salmon and shrimp. They do have a lunch menu and a happy hour menu but the stomach wants what it wants. The Atlantic salmon and green beans were good. I took off a start because even though the bulk of the shrimp were deveined because they were butterflied. Not all of them were. Overall, decent lunch and for the convenience would go back!

    I had an okay experience. My expectations were a little too high for the seafood gumbo. It could have used a bit more...umph. The lump crab cake was massive. I loved the capers. It really added to the flavor. The server was very attentive. The atmosphere was chill. I would give them a second try when I visit Houston again.

    We came here two Wednesdays ago for a business lunch, and had a solid experience. Luckily we had a reservation because the place was packed! Rico was taking care of us as our server, and did a great job. The food was delicious. I got the Cobb salad with shrimp, which definitely hit the spot. The grouper with shrimp also looked really good. It was a solid lunch!

    This is my preferred location for fried seafood however; I ventured into new territory and, it was worth it! I made reservations so no wait to be seated. Our waitress was helpful but, she wasn't as attentive as she could have been. If you've been to one PSH ,you've been to all as far as the ambiance. My dinner was delicious 10/10!

    Not busy on a Friday night. After 5 pm they don't do reservations for large parties (we had 8). We broke it into 2 groups of 4 and once we got there they accommodated without hesitation. It's near Gunspoint Mall which gave me hesitation but there was a sheriff group having some meeting here so I was relieved. There's a security guard in the parking lot too so no need to fear. The inside is nicely maintained and decorated like all pappas . And the staff. Real Quality. They give you their card at the end so you can ask for them again next time which shows how invested they are in customer satisfaction and repeat business. Now onto the food. Also awesome. Fried calamari and asparagus were delicious. Never had that combo before. But wasn't complaining. They got a Kids menu as well which has a nice sized portion on the fried catfish and fries. Grouper was fabulous as was the deluxe platter. We tried a sampling of deserts and all were fabulous. Key lime pie, turtle brownie and banana pudding. Definitely a good place for a casual date (not loud), bringing out of town folk or just having a solid meal.

    We went for a friend's birthday dinner on a Saturday. There was plenty of parking and inside wasn't too crowded. Host and wait staff were all friendly and professional. Food was a bit on the salty side but portions were just right. Complimentary bread with butter was warm and delish. Service was the best part- would recommend as a go-to for seafood plates,

I ordered my usual Long Island, and I loved that it was served in a branded mason jar--cute touch, definitely added to the vibe. (Still wondering if I was supposed to keep it or not ) We started with appetizers: The crawfish pistolet was the standout. Flavorful, rich, and honestly the best thing we had. My only complaint is they needed a little more bread to balance all that filling. The fried green tomatoes were cooked well and the portion was generous (almost two whole tomatoes), but they were under-seasoned. I had to add salt and rely on the sauce to bring them to life. Now let's talk about the menu--it's huge. We're talking seafood, burgers, fried chicken, boils, ceviche... everything but the kitchen sink. And while options are nice, it does make you question how fresh everything really is when a restaurant is trying to do that much. Overall, this place felt like it was trying to recover from a rough start--and partially succeeded. There are definitely some highlights (that pistolet!), but also some inconsistency that keeps it from being a full win. Final verdict: 3.5-4 stars. Come for the seafood favorites, but they've got some tightening up to do on service flow and seasoning.

He said usually they're done cooking it by 12:30 pm and then it needs time to cool down. So he suggested mid-afternoon like around 2 pm. Ok. Well what the heck. A late lunch it is then. I've always been a whore for a good cut of meat. When we got there I told the host/waiter that we had a reservation and he just replied ok and didn't bother asking our name or checking us off a list or anything. Understandable I suppose since the place was empty. When we got the menus my first observation was that a number of the prices were higher by several dollars than as listed on their website, including the prime rib. The waiter replied it's just a few bucks, and then noted it's actually been like that for a few months. When I talked to the owner later he said they're waiting for the lady who handles their website to make the update. I've posted pics of their current in store menu so you can know the current prices. I think the waiter was new. Because he didn't ask how we wanted our prime rib cooked (I had to ask him later if we have a choice). Also when I asked for more horseradish (it doesn't come with the prime rib automatically) he took my plastic thimble looking cup and just refilled it, which seemed a bit unsanitary and odd. Also I had to ask for ketchup for the onion rings. When I was signing the bill he just hovered and immediately took it. It just felt weird. I dunno. Maybe his shift was ending or something. I know this sounds weird to comment on but the water tasted off. It's the first time I've ever said that. But it just tasted weird. I couldn't put my finger on it. Maybe like it already had some lemon in it? Yet there was a lemon slice on the rim of the glass. So I'm not sure. Anyway onto the prime rib. I thought it was ok. My kid absolutely loves prime rib and that's the real reason we came. But she just didn't like it here. However it is one of their most popular dishes and the way they sell out obviously folks in the area are ga ga for it. So definitely come give it a try for yourself. It comes 2 sides but not a baked potato which is $5 extra. I love baked potatoes but the extra cost made me not want to get it. The waiter said the mashed potatoes do not come with gravy but actually the sauce that comes with the prime rib is pretty thick and could easily be used for this. I thought the cream spinach was good as well as the fries and onion rings. Note the QR codes on the bill didn't work to pay. I'm not sure why. I think the waiter said something was wrong with their computers. When we asked for a to go box the lid on my gravy container didn't securely close. The waiter said that actually all of the containers have that problem. Yikes. Well just be careful you don't spill it in your car. I guess the waiter told the owner my kid didn't like the prime rib and when we were boxing it up the owner came to our table and was apologetic and super nice about it and offered to comp her plate. Now that's old school class. I've been to some of these newer places where they couldn't give a crap. But the owner here actually cares that people have a good time. So kudos to him. Their menu is extensive. And they have something for everyone. They also have a kids menu with reasonable prices. The monte cristo and pork knuckle were catching my eye. Maybe another day.

Waiter was meh. Had to go in and fetch him a few times as they don't come outside much, especially when you're the only one out there. The bar area is small but the bartenders are nice. They have a sectioned off room in the back which might be good for a larger group. Place is kinda small overall though.
