Service was very good and the special was well explained. We started with drinks which they do charge extra for refills, however the watermelon flavored drink was refreshing. Our appetizer the calamari and asparagus was excellent, even the batter it was fried in was seasoned, and went perfectly with the lemon aioli, the homemade marinara was good also. The entree's ginger glazed salmon was exceptionally delicious, perfectly cooked and the seasoning enhanced the flavor. The star of the dinner was the Trout, which was a delicious Whole butterflied and topped with lump crab and shrimp, every savory bite melted in our mouths. Pappas was soooooo good we had to return before leaving Houston. We devoured the crab and shrimp dip served with warm garlic bread so mouthwatering. Pappa's is synonymous with quality. Everyone of their chains it top notch, semi-high end, amazing food, and the seafood house is not different. I placed a very large order for lunch for my staff and we got SO much food for the price off their lunch menu we had enough for dinner that night or lunch again the next day. The po' boy's are HUGE, the pasta was chocked full of fresh seafood, the catfish was seasoned perfectly and steaming hot, and the stuffed crab was divine. Depending on the entree you get soup or salad comes, and you get fresh bread as well. Not busy on a Friday night. After 5 pm they don't do reservations for large parties (we had 8). We broke it into 2 groups of 4 and once we got there they accommodated without hesitation. It's near Gunspoint Mall which gave me hesitation but there was a sheriff group having some meeting here so I was relieved. There's a security guard in the parking lot too so no need to fear. The inside is nicely maintained and decorated like all pappas . And the staff. Real Quality. They give you their card at the end so you can ask for them again next time which shows how invested they are in customer satisfaction and repeat business. Now onto the food. Also awesome. Fried calamari and asparagus were delicious. Never had that combo before. But wasn't complaining. They got a Kids menu as well which has a nice sized portion on the fried catfish and fries. Grouper was fabulous as was the deluxe platter. We tried a sampling of deserts and all were fabulous. Key lime pie, turtle brownie and banana pudding. The prices have gone up but the quality of the food has stayed the same, but to their credit, it always was really good. I tend to order over the phone and pick up. Very nice atmosphere and cute cozy booth. Had lunch with my partner's parents after a week in town from Virginia. There was a raw Oyster special and we had two dozen between the four of us. Service was good. Our server may have been a bit new, she had to come back to the table a few too many times. We were worried about the time and getting to the airport. I mentioned shellfish allergy and they were very attentive to make sure my dish was prepared safely. I loved the mozzarella cubes. I had the seafood Cobb salad with the shrimp substituted for sea scallops. It was huge, full of big fresh toppings and their house lemon vinaigrette. I love that this Pappas Seafood has its own vibe, totally different from Pappadeaux. The menu feels like a different class of seafood, more unique, with its own style. Dear Pappas Seafood Management, I wanted to take a moment to share feedback regarding my husband's and my recent visit to your restaurant on October 11th around 6:00 p.m. This letter is intended as an opportunity for improvement, as we have always enjoyed dining at your Humble location and expected a similar level of service and quality. Unfortunately, our experience at this location fell short in several ways. We were initially assigned one server who was later replaced by another, and we regret to say the service we received was disappointing and concerning. The server appeared to be under the influence of something--moving slowly, slurring words, and frequently forgetting our requests. She also responded with a snarky attitude at times, which made the experience uncomfortable. We ordered waters and bar drinks (a beer and a Blood Orange Mule), along with two Rainbow Trout dinners. Bread, which is usually served promptly, had to be requested. When I asked for a straw, the server left and did not return with one. Our meals were brought out by a different server, and when I requested mignonette, she seemed unfamiliar with it despite my explanation that it is typically available at your oyster bar. She never returned with it. At that point, we still had not received our bar drinks or straws. When our original server finally returned, she again seemed confused, looked down at her apron, and walked away. She eventually returned with a straw but informed me that they "didn't have mignonette." My Blood Orange Mule also arrived with black specks in it and without the signature dried blood orange garnish I'm accustomed to receiving at other Pappas locations. When I inquired, the server said she would check but never came back. I ultimately had to go to the bar myself, where another staff member later brought the garnish--after my drink was nearly finished. This visit was meant to be a special date night for us, and the entire experience--though we tried to remain patient--fell short of the standards we've come to expect from Pappas Restaurants. We only chose this location because of traffic delays near Humble, but unfortunately, we left feeling disappointed and frustrated. We wanted to share this feedback so that management can be aware and address the issues with training, service quality, and staff attentiveness at this location. We truly appreciate the consistent excellence we've experienced at your Humble restaurant and hope this feedback will help ensure that the same level of quality is maintained across all locations. 6 of us were in town for training. One of the guys picked here for one of our nights. I wasn't sure what to expect, but was pleasantly surprised. First, our waitress was amazing, probably the best service I've ever had. We had several appetizers, all very good. I had cajun blacked catfish and shrimp ettoufee. Dinner was on Saturday @7:30 . I'll make this short but informative . Ambiance was great everyone was smiling and restaurant was clean . Reservation for 10 didn't have any issues getting seated once i checked in :) I started off with the 12 oysters because I love oysters but then realized they were Gulf oysters . I prefer east coast.. I should've asked the waiter but assumed he would've told me but not his fault I'll do better on asking lol . I only ate 6 because they didn't have mignotte sauce (They gave me this container of red onion lol no sauce ) Food was great I got the salmon Alexander and it was very flavorful and I also got the carrrots which the pistachio made it pop good job ! We asked for the cake and this is where things went sideways . He had others help him prebus but took 10/15 min to finally see my actual server to get the cake . Once i saw him I I asked if he can cut it and he said they can't so I said ok just bring the stuff to the table so we can song happy birthday. He never did . I then was wondering where he was after 10 min and notice the cake is sitting on a random tray next to another party in the middle of the walkway. He didn't even make the effort to hand the cake to the right table or to my sister . I had to get up, do it and pass out the plates . I serve on my own time so it suck's I had to basically clock in and finish his service. I don't remember his name it started with a J. Walking in, you get a very distinct smell of mold and mildew. And you can see it growing on the curtains on the door. That should have been a sign. The food can only be described as unseasoned -- mid. I ordered the salmon, shrimp, scallop, and crab cake plate. The scallops were chewy and gritty, but sadly were the best seasoned item on my plate. The shrimp was rubbery and over grilled, the crab cake was filler and no seasoning, wet from all the butter sauce on the plate. And the salmon was flaky, but again -- unseasoned. The potatoes soaked up the butter sauce well enough, but not enough to be flavorful. My kid ordered a cup of shrimp gumbo, and it was mostly black bean juice and shrimp. Again, it lacked seasoning. The food was pretty average, I'd say just above fast food level but definitely not restaurant level. The prices were also a bit too steep for the quality you receive. The service is their better quality, all the servers are very kind and caring. They seem to like their job, talking with customers and engaging in conversation a lot. The environment is also one of their better qualities. It's a nice sized restaurant but it doesn't feel too big, the layout makes it feel very comforting despite the size. If the food had been better this probably would've been a 5 star review, but sadly the food was just not on par with the service. All of the seafood had this weird aftertaste, I'd say their best foods are anything BESIDES the seafood surprisingly.
