We were actually going to Alma (same chef) the same night but decided to stop in here for a quick, casual lunch while at the Corte Ingles department store.
The menu here is pretty simple: 3 of each - raw dishes, vegetables, fish, meat, and dessert.
- Bolinha de Mafra: Mafra bread and olive oil from Alma. The bread was pretty unremarkable
- Azeitonas marinadas: marinated olives - a pretty big plate
- Batatas chips: freshly fried chips, oily but good flavor
- Arroz de tomate confitado: confit tomato risotto with roasted eggplant, rocket, and Parmesan. The tomato flavor on this was great - rich and intense
- Leitão confitado: slow cooker suckling pork belly with turnip top purée and pepper jus. The fat was rendered out nicely, and the crust on top was nice and crisp
They have a nice patio area outdoors, as well as tables and counter seating.
Service was pretty non existent, but the food was great. Service aside, it's a pretty good option for a department store restaurant. read more
