Still on a macaron quest for the best, I decided to drop by on a Tuesday earlier this month, a day before heading to the office for the last time in 2024. The parking lot is behind the bakery. I had no problem backing into an available spot and walking over to the bakery. You can smell the butter as you approach the main entrance. I was excited to check it out. It has buns with various fillings. I completely ignored this section when I saw macaron sets in the display case. I wanted to get it for my friend and colleague. I also got six molten cheese tarts. They looked so good. I thought that it would be perfect to share with my small team. The woman behind the counter was so patient and friendly. I paid with a credit card. I tapped and was good. I then carried my goodies to my car. My friend was happy to get the macarons. I haven't asked him how they were. I will when we are both back in the office. I'll need to get a set for me to enjoy. The molten cheese tarts were a hit. My friend and I loved how delicious and smooth the cheese tart filling was. It had a slight saltiness with the buttery crust that worked so well with the filling. My friend had two. I had two. I offered my manager one. He didn't hesitate. He took his first bite and was sucked into the heavenly goodness of this magical tart. I'm not kidding. It's amazing. I don't recall who ate the last one. I just know that it was gone and I had nothing to bring home. I will return and get some buns. It's funny that I completely ignored that section, but I do know that it exists. (502)

Parking can be busy depending on the restaurants nearby, there is additional parking just south across the road. Service was quick and polite. Food: Black sesame cake. The design is interesting to look at. The cake itself is not bad - not light nor heavy, just the right cake consistency. The black sesame cream has a hint of black sesame in it and adds moisture. The most controversial part of the cake is the little black sesame cubes on the top of the cake. These undeniably have more black sesame flavor but lean towards the drier side. I wish they were a bit more moist but still the black sesame flavor is nice. Price: I do find cakes here on the pricier side and while the flavors are unique, there's a lot of competition with other Asian bakeries where you can get a pretty similar flavor profile for cheaper.

We stopped by a couple times while in Toronto and while we were impressed initially, realized there were much better elsewhere. I nabbed the last pineapple bun with butter since it seemed highly coveted, as well as a normal pineapple bun. The pineapple bun has great flavor but tended to be a little dry. The butter helped a lot, but the bun without butter lacked the moisture - although maybe it was because we didn't buy it fresh in the morning? The trend with the pineapple bun does seem to be that the bread itself is a little dry but the ones with fillings, such as chasiu or butter, gives it the moisture it needs. The egg tarts were standard. Not bad but nothing special - and not something I would come back for. I also got a wife pastry that was not very good. Price wise, it's definitely a little steep. But it may be worth to not having to drive in poor weather to get to Markham or Richmond Hill. I do recommend coming in the morning while the pastries and buns are still fresh - it does seem to be better during the day versus at night.

It's definitely one of the top cakes I've ever had - and I've had a lot of cakes! They are generous with both the mango and chestnut filling. Sooo sooo good! Hard to picture everything over the phone. Pick up was quick and easy. They have a rewards system that I'm interested in too. Probably worth it if you order from here a lot. I'm curious about their baked goods too. Everything looked so good!

UNBEATABLE. My old bakery shop that my family always ordered from before has quality consistently went downhill. Nobody likes to have to find out after cutting a cake that it's dry and moldy on a happy day of celebration, so I stopped going to the bakery above mention. I have ordered consistently from this bayview Bakery shop for at least 3-4 cakes now, as well as my coworker that I recommend them to order as well, and the cakes were always perfect to my taste. I like the way that the cakes are designed, not overly sweet, cakes is moist! and the owners are super sweet and kind. This will be my go-to for cakes and pastries

It is a Hong Kong style bakery, offering a variety of buns (both savory and sweet) and tarts at affordable price. Stepping in, it was more like cafe offering variety of drinks than regular HK style bakery. Bright and clean. Looking closely at each product, the quality seemed to be better than other counterparts- each looked fluffier, less greasy, and a bit more sophisticated in presentation. I got - BLB (Bo Lo Bao): Crunchy cookie crust on soft bun. - Crispy cream: Crispy sweet topping on soft bao - Chestnut Bao - Sugar donut - Egg tart Buns are very pillowy. The taste was "milk forward", no detectable butter flavor, which makes their aftertaste light & healthy. I found that the texture is a bit drier than I preferred. We liked Chestnut Bao. Chestnut paste matched the milky sweet bun. Overall, affordable, a lot of options and comforting. Next time I want to try savory types of buns!!! Oh each buns are individually bagged and sealed. Which is great, but you want to open it before buns with sugar topping get soggy inside. ;)

(Should have checked on yelp first as several others mentioned this in the past.) It's a small bakery, with wear and tear showing its age, but still had a number of offerings. We got six buns (not pictured) including red bean pineapple bun, pork bun, luncheon meat with egg buns, curry beef bun, and hotdog bun. We also got two cakes, chocolate and red bean&white chocolate cake. Total came to under $30. When we got in (around 2:45pm), the lady was on lunch break on the phone. We were already waiting up at the cash, trying to tell her our cake order but she was still on the phone for a while longer. She bagged the buns while on the phone. The cakes were not bad, the chocolate cake being a bit too dark for my daughter's liking. We enjoyed the lighter red bean and white chocolate cake. She did tape the cakes down in the box but they still ended up rolling around anyway, I guess from our drive/handling.
