If you haven't tried this place, you're certainly missing out. One of my go to and fav bakeries. It's literally a hidden gem located inside Denison Centre beside the food court. Their pastries, buns and cakes are certainly affordable. Buy 6 no taxes. They have a great variety of classic and unique buns. They even have chicken and beef burgers which is pretty filling. The quality is excellent and eveything is just so delicious. I picked up 2 original pineapple buns and 6 mini cakes. Cakes were $1 each if you buy more than 4. They are not too sweet which I like. Would highly recommend checking this out.

Overall, big value and good quality for baked goods. The weekend I went always had an ongoing line and continuous replenishment of from the bakers in the back. The prices are reasonable as heck too. I got a coconut bread loaf, sesame ball, coconut butter bun, and a couple of egg tarts for about $12. Overall no complaints and tasted great next day.

A well-known HK-style bun and bread bakery in the Milliken neighborhood. Freshly made daily with good varieties. Usually, there is a short line at the cashier but it moves pretty quickly. Compared to other bakeries, they have some delicious gourmet buns such as... - Pork Floss Bun - Tempura Curry Beef Bun - Chicken Nugget Burger - Salad Hotdog Bun - Ham Egg Cheese Bun - New Orleans Fried Chicken Bun - Pineapple Bun (aka BLB) - AAA Steak Bun - Whole piece of purple yam bread, and much more. Very unique varieties on top of those classic HK-style pastries like Charsiu Bao, Sausage Bun, and Egg Tarts. Reasonably priced. Good quality with nice consistency. Always fresh. Pretty happy with this bakery even though it took me some time to make a trip there. Recommended!

Somebody pinch me cuz I think I died and went to Bao heaven. So many different and unique varieties of baos; my head was about to explode. Sweet or savory. Such a great variety to satisfy most Bao lovers. Also have small cakes and pastries at only $1.50 each or buy 4 for $4 Located at Dennison mall which is a very spacious, clean, almost sterile Asian mall in the same neighborhood as the OG Pacific Mall The crispy chicken Bao had crispy moist chicken pieces with the Bao split down the middle stuffed with crispy chicken. The eel Bao had a nice chunk of eel slathered in a light teriyaki glaze. The egg with luncheon meat was a great combination of flavors and textures with each bite. Didn't see any ducks baking so their name didn't make sense to me I'm like Pokemon. Gotta have them all, can't wait for my next visit

Looking for creative HK buns? Check out the Baker Duck! This is an affordable Chinese bakery at Denison Centre that has a wonderful assortment of HK sweet bread. It was really busy on a Saturday but I was ecstatic to get my hands on these: - Garlic Lobster Bun ($8.99) with a full tail - New Orleans Fried Chicken Bun ($2.80) - Chicken Nugget Burger ($3.99) Flavours are OK at this price point. Offerings flew off the rack like hot cakes even before reaching displays. Fresh lobster buns were the most popular with some folks waiting almost an hour; hence the recent price increase. Will I be back? Probably if I'm in the area. The packed shop is not for the faint of heart.

Came on a Saturday early afternoon. It was packed with people and there was a long line, but it seems to move relatively quickly. The actual space inside the bakery is very small and cramped. Realistically, there's only room width-wise for 1 person, and with everyone rushing to grab the good buns, it can feel a bit hectic and competitive. During my visit, a lot of the bun selection seemed to already be out. They have a tall rack of backstock, but they were for more of the basic buns you can find anywhere else. Got my usual - hot dog buns and egg tarts, but also tried the Hokkaido milk bun. They were all good. The bread was soft and fluffy, as I'd hoped and always enjoy. I will likely check out their other location next as I believe it's a bigger location there.

Worth the TikTok hype! Let me start off with - the line is long! Very long. People seem to go grab their buns inside the store first and then go outside to line up while holding their tray of buns. So much trust in this system! The lines are quite slow to move so you'll probably be waiting for a bit. BUT! The buns are the real star here. It's not your classic Chinese buns that you get at other bakeries, these ones are elevated. Think flakey croissants, fried chicken sandwiches, pizza buns, croquettes and more! A lot of items were empty in their slots but get refilled once in a while by staff. What's so great about the buns are that they're so simple yet so delicious. The fried chicken sandwich is better than the fried fish sandwich in my opinion. But that is the top sandwich to get so make sure you grab one! Overall, this place is worth the hype and worth the line up!

Look at the filling and texture on the jin-dui! OMG. Stamped durian cakes also divine!

I love this place just a little TOO MUCH. Quality Chinese confections which are updated every week. They had a huge fried chicken sando which I was tempted to buy. Extraordinarily busy, bustling place. But everyone politely dances around everyone else, and it works!

I originally came to Dennison center to buy soy milk. The logo of the store is so cute it caught my attention. There was a long line at the register too (note: I went on January 1st). The lines do go by pretty quickly though. The store is pretty small and can get congested. I was surprised by the variety of pastry and buns they had. There's one staff who always check the trays and they are quick to refill the buns. They have some old classics like chicken pie and egg tart. And they also have a twist on stuff like the pineapple bun. They had satay beef filling inside or even egg and spam. I got the New Orleans deep fried chicken bun and it was good. Surprisingly it was about $3. This had more chicken than a jr chicken at McDonald's. They also had a everything bagel with salmon and cream cheese. This was only $2.99! At other shops this will cost around $6 at least! I thought it was okay given the price. They put a right amount of salmon and way too much cream cheese. They even had a chicken drumstick inside a bun. I personally didn't get it but it was interesting. The mango tart was so good! I love it! It had the right amount of sweetness. The mango is a bit sour though but understandably it's not mango season right now. The mini cakes were $1 each if you buy 4. It was savoury sweet. Nothing special, it just tasted like a regular cake. The value is good though. Overall, I would defined come here again if I'm in the area. But one thing to watch out is, when you are paying, pay attention to what you are charged. It gets so busy so the cashier may skip your item or charge you the previous persons order. They don't give you a receipt, so once you leave that's it. Also make sure you bring cash, you can use your card but you have to have a total of at least $15. Finally, if you have any allergies, I would not recommend this spot. It's easy for the food to get cross contaminated with the tongs and trays.

Cute little bakery located in the Denison Centre. Best bet is to go there on a week day as you're guaranteed to get all their special sandwich rolls. They have a pretty good selection of the specialty sandwiches and traditional stuffed Chinese buns. The price is great for the quality, and their buns are soft and delicious. Service is fast and efficient and they restock fairly consistently as there is always at least one staff member taking note of the inventory. Would definitely head back to get more buns!

This is a new hongkong style bakery replacing the old one in the mall and I love it! This bakery is always busy and have a lineup because it's not an ordinary Hk bakery, it's serving a lot of different types of buns , even lobster sandwich buns! Bread itself is very fresh and soft, and sausages or chicken inside are tasty! Buy 6 buns to save the tax, and buy 4+ cake pieces for $1 each, good quality with very reasonable prices!

Baker Duck is a bakery located in Denison Centre. It takes over the spot that Windsor Fine Bakeries used to occupy. I came here to pick up a Too Good to Go mystery bag. It was my first time using the app and buying a mystery bag for $3.99. I like the concept. Instead of throwing food out at the end of the day, businesses that participate package their food and sell them at reduced prices to customers through the app. I came here on a Tuesday night a couple of weeks ago after work. Denison Centre always has a ton of parking. I tend to frequent Shoppers Drug Mart the most, but I parked closer to the main entrance, closer to Sunfood Supermarket. It took a while for someone to help me at the Baker Duck counter. There was one woman stocking baked buns in one of the display cases. Another woman came out of the baking area to help me out. The idea is that once you arrive to pick up your order, you mark your order on the Too Good To Go app to say that you're redeeming it for pickup. The staff member then confirms your order on that end and hands over your surprise bag. She had many prepared and handed me one. I thanked her and happily grabbed my bakery goods. Naturally, I had to take a wander around the bakery. It felt similar to Windsor, except that there wasn't as much of a butter smell around. Windsor used a ton of butter such that I always felt like I smelled like butter when I left the place. This place offers savory and sweet buns. I saw bread and sandwiches, too. It took me a few days to get through my mystery bag. The downside is trying to identify what each one is. I couldn't tell looking at some of them. When you crack one open to eat, it all makes sense. I ended up with these five flavours: - Barbeque pork bun - Butter floral roll - Fried curry beef bun - Pineapple bun with red bean filling - Coconut swirl roll I had the barbeque pork bun first. The exterior was fluffy and not overly doughy. The filling was excellent. It was a good amount of barbeque pork that was seasoned nicely, without hauling out a microscope to figure out whether it was there in the first place. The butter floral roll was delicious. It was buttery and fun to eat. I plucked each petal, as it were, and enjoyed it as a dessert item. It was slightly sweet, but not enough to send you on any sugar high in any orbit. The fried curry bun surprised me out of all of them. The curry was so flavourful. The ground beef was perfect with the sauteed onions. The dough was yummy. There were crispy bits on the outside. It was fantastic fried goodness. I haven't had a fried curry bun in ages. I used to love the ones at a bakery on Glen Watford Drive years ago. I am not sure whether that bakery still exists, but this bun bought back happy moments from my past. I normally don't like red bean filling in buns. I find them overly sweet and gross. The pineapple bun with this filling was yummy. I love pineapple buns. It's the top part that gets me. This bun was subtly sweet. I liked the red bean filling. Who knew? The coconut swirl roll was superb. I love coconut. I love a roll. Put bits of coconuts in the swirly part of a roll and I am a happy camper. It was so good. I want one now. As sad as it was to see Windsor go, as it has been a fixture at Denison Centre for years, Baker Duck quacks in nicely. I like it. I can't wait to return and try more goodies. (73)

Popped by here because I was in the area and was very curious. I heard about the lineups so I was prepared to wait but was pleasantly surprised to see no lineup but it was 3:30 pm on a Friday. Selection was okay but many trays were empty already. This is not a big place so it will get crowded very quickly. Definitely some very interesting savoury and sweet bun options that you wouldn't see in other Chinese bakeries like the fried Australian M5 Wagyu Curry Beef Bun. Lots of the buns are made into sandwiches (with lettuce and tomato in some) so good option for a reasonable lunch if you worked in the area and don't mind the lineup. They have a pineapple bun with the butter already in the bun, your classic 'bolo yau'. Even though the quantity of the butter was less than you would expect it you ordered it at a HK diner, the quality of the bun itself was very good! I bought 10 buns and received 6 egg tarts for free (they were having a special). I would definitely be interested in a return trip.

Recently, I got to try two of their 6 inch cakes. The earl grey tea chestnut cake with fresh strawberries and the black sesame mochi lava cake with fresh mangoes. Both cakes are AMAZING! I could taste the earl grey flavor and the chestnut flavor separately along with the fresh strawberries, it is a wonderful combination. The black sesame one was sooooo good also.
