Staff were very friendly and keep giving out samples :) Plus, the portion and flavour were very satisfying especially considering the price (very affordable!) Wish I could visit here more often if it were close to me. My favourite of the day was chicken sandwich and napoleon cake, which was pretty big and not so sweet :)

Xuan Bakery has been on my list since they've opened and I finally had the chance to take a peek inside! It's your classic Chinese bakery, so nothing special there - you just take the tray and tongs at the far end and make your way to the register. The spacing can be done a little better - you can't really have more than 2-3 people looking and getting buns at the same time. SELECTION: There wasn't a lot of variety, but with the selection they do have, it was pretty unique. They have two different types of Pineapple Buns (bo lo bao): the classic and a Taiwanese version (which looks like Japanese melon buns). They also have several different sausage buns, including one with cheese and another with pork floss. These also look a bit different, it's not encased in the bun, but it's more of a hotdog kind of look. They also offer cakes and free samples of their cakes, which look and taste like your typical Chinese bakery cakes (not my preferred taste). They seem to really want to upsell their cakes (the lady kinda tried pressuring me to try and buy). PRICE: The prices were on the higher end. You're looking at about $4-6 per bun. They also have a 'lucky draw' going on right now if your subtotal is more than $25, but my draw required a minimum purchase of $35 lol (for a free slice of cake). FAV: The classic pineapple bun. The top was SO crispy yet the bottom was SO soft. I would go back just for this by itself. There was a lady ahead of me who ONLY bought the pineapple buns. She knows what's up.

The woman attempted to make things right, which I appreciated. I also got a coupon to use on a future order. So Sweet is located in an industrial area. The signage was difficult to see, as there was a huge van in front of the store. All I saw was the number 12. That's the store! I have consumed the following items: - Blueberry and yogurt cake box - Ovaltine cake box - Mini soft cake with homemade custard sauce and pork floss Both cake boxes were full-sized. I loved the mini soft cake with pork floss that I returned for another one. I find the cake box's container lid to be extremely tight. My prying the lid open messed up two of my gel strips on my nails. Ugh! The blueberry and yogurt cake box was yummy. I liked the fresh blueberries. The cake was flavourful. It was as if there were popping boba in one of the layers. It had the perfect sweetness. The jelly on top was a nice touch. I had some before I had the cake. It tasted like grape. It was subtle in taste and sweetness, which was lovely. The Ovaltine cake box was excellent. It also wasn't sweet, but tasted just like the drink, but in cake form. I love the mini soft cake with pork floss. The pudding was a nice touch between the two layers of cake. It wasn't sweet. I like the savoury pork floss. So good! I never got to try the cream puffs. Two will cost you $24. I feel like I need to be in a mood to splurge to try them. I'm not there yet. (94)

I had their strawberry cream dessert, which was light, fluffy, and perfectly balanced in sweetness. The crunchy almond-topped treat was delicious, and the choux pastries were baked to perfection, crispy on the outside and filled with a creamy, flavorful filling inside. Not only was the quality excellent, but the packaging was also neat, and they even included utensils for convenience. It's clear that a lot of care goes into their desserts. Highly recommend So Sweet for anyone looking for delicious and aesthetically pleasing desserts. Can't wait to try more from them!

3.5* rounded up due to friendly cashier and ravishing looking cake decor!…read more The ordering process was pretty seamless- they respond better when speaking in Cantonese! Tip- double check price . I was quoted differently than what was on website. She corrected herself when I clarified the price ! Pros- the cake was so dainty and cute ! I loved the box and how it was wrapped with a ribbon ! I also loved how they added hearts on the nameplate without me having to ask . This personal touch leaves me with an impression the cake decor loves doing their job ! Lastly, I love the complimentary candle.. it was gold and a wonderful final touch ! The cream was really fresh as was most of the fruits ( except mango- it looked like it was on the verge of going bad ). Cons- the cake didn't hold intact once cut:( the center basically collapsed maybe because fruit/ batter/ cream ratio wasn't balanced . It honestly looked like a pile of smashed up cake and very much opposite of aesthetically pleasing. I've never had this happen to us in the past and we are a family that loves a good old Chinese fruit cake lol . Also as shared above.. the mango in the cake wasborderline too ripe the first day. By the second day , it was not editable. Price -$36. Pretty reasonable I don't know if I would return . It was a relatively positive experience but I don't think the bakers have enough skill to warrant another visit . I did love the look and packaging so who knows ..

It's super moist not overly decadent and just the right amount of sweetness. So I'm here documenting to remind myself to order a cake for next time. It seems that they are well known for their ube cakes so I think I'll have to try that next!

I read that her specialty…read moreis the Ube flavoured cake, so when we decided to order our wedding cake, we knew we had to get Ube. Sheryl might not respond to her emails ASAP as she has another job as well, but will eventually respond within a few business days. If it's urgent, and you need a quick response, you can always call or text her for inquiries. Ordering our wedding cake was very easy, we told Sheryl the details such as how many tiers, serving size, and design inspiration. She also delivers for an additional fee depending where in the GTA. On the day of our wedding, we expected to see her around 4pm, but she actually came earlier to help set up, and make the cake area look nice. When I saw the cake in person, it was made almost exactly to what I asked for, and yes, it was beautiful. The buttercream used lasted for hours as the cake wasn't served until at least 5 hours after being placed on the table. When I tried a slice, the Ube flavour was evident, not too sweet, and the cake itself was very soft. I highly recommend booking your wedding cake, or any cake from Sheryl if you want Ube!
