    Cake rolls and milk pudding
    Arlene B.

I've long been a customer of the Saint Germain bakery in Markville Mall. It is great to see this bakery has opened up at CF Fairview Mall. The space is narrow but efficiently designed. Patrons can select pastries and bread from both sides of a centrally located display case. There is an additional display area that was empty when i visited. There was still a good selection of fresh looking bread and pastries when I visited the shop on a late Tuesday afternoon. Prices here are comparable to other Chinese bakeries. Larger cakes can be selected from the counter display. They also have lobster rolls (not sure if it's a limited time offer). Would definitely return when in the area.

This chain of asian bakeries has expanded to Fairview mall. We came here to pick up some treats for a party. Service was friendly though it can get busy here. We got some almond biscuits. This cookies has thin flaky layers of dough and on top of that site a thicker almond layer. There's a nice crunch in the top layer. The butterfly cookies seem dense when you hold them but they do have that flakiness, butteriness and sweetness when you eat then. Both boxes of cookies were pretty big . Definitely a quick and delicious party treat!

I LOVE SAINT GERMAIN BAKERY both the CF Markville and CF Fairview location. The egg tart and bolo bao gai may bao are so buttery and flavorful. Service speed is below target compared to some establishments in the US. Bakery is clean and orderly. Would recommend.

$43 taxes in (with online discount applied) for this 8 inch durian cake. Definitely good value !

Decent asian bakery. The baked goods in the store looked good, but I haven't tried. This review is based on my opinion of their durian cake. I ordered online so got an online discount, and the process went smoothly The durian cake was alright but nothing exceptional, it was a bit sweet and the cream not as soft and fluffy. There were lots of durian, a whole layer of it actually at the bottom. Overall good value for a decent cake.

Convenient bakery inside Fairview Mall. If you're coming from the subway/bus system it's right at the ground floor entrance when you walk in. I've tried several of their buns now: red bean bun, sausage bun & matcha bun. My favourite so far is the matcha bun. I think their prices are a tad high compared to Kin Kin. But given they are in Fairview Mall they have to pay the rent somehow. It's a nice bakery. New, clean, bright & everything is labelled clearly. The displays where the pastries are is clean & orderly. I think the quality of the pastries are good. The buns are pretty big for their price which is usually $1.98 or $2.25. Line ups haven't been ridiculously long when I have come in. There are only two cashiers so that can get busy if lots of people come all at once. But as others have mentioned the capacity limit is 5 or 6 people. The customer service experience is decent. I haven't seen any untoward behaviour from the staff here or the customers. I would definitely come back again to buy a snack. Someday I'll try their cakes. I haven't looked at those much. I did see someone buying a whole cake when I went to buy a matcha bun. If they have individual slices of cake I'll try one of those someday.

If you haven't tried their fresh mango cake, you are missing out! Delicious fresh mango on light sponge cake and fresh whipped cream. Located inside Fairview mall, this is my go to bakery when I am here. Not pictured, but their buns are super delicious and baked until super golden.

Well, I got to visit my second Saint Germain Bakery location. This one is on the lower level of the Cadillac Fairview Mall. If your eyes are the keys to your stomach, then get yourself down here to feast on the eye popping cakes and pastries on display. The ingredients look fresh and natural, especially anything that has fruits added to it! Products available include regular cakes & breads, Chinese pastries, moon cakes, special occasion cakes for weddings/other celebrations, etc. I'm here to try the Chinese pastries, just because I'm a self-anointed expert! Staff are helpful to answer any questions and checkout was smooth.

Everytime I pass thru here I always stop in here the entire section has this buttery smell that draws its customers in. There is a wide selection of buns before 7pm. After that time it's a random as everything is usually picked. The buns are soooo good and so are the drinks The grapefruit one is my to go drink. I need to get that mango cake its always sold out!!!!

It's all about the Almond (or apricot seed) Tea. Saint Germain is a contemporary tale on the traditional Hong Kong bakery. The store is filled with fresh western and eastern style baked goods. There are endless options in the store. With that said, if you are vegan, you are pretty much out of luck, except for their amazingly delicious and fragrant drink. The warm fragrant drink is made from apricot seed with rock sugar. Remember to visit the store early for it, cause they do sell out!

Located near the escalator on the ground floor near H&M. Maximum 6 patrons allowed in the bakery. Long lineup to get in, and felt especially long for those who came to make a purchase $20 or more for the $12 gift certificate. I think I was in line for an hour and I was feeling fine with the wait, wasn't in a rush to go anywhere. Maybe my patience is on a different level! Anyway, hand sanitizer was available but they did not reinforce it. Clean tongs and trays were available for patrons to use. Pastries are slightly pricier but taste and quality is of course better. I wanted to get the "Napoleon cake" mille-feuille, but they sold out already, and this was before 2pm. I'm assuming some of the baked goods are transferred from their head office(?) at Pharmacy and McNicoll, although they do have a kitchen area. Final purchase included: half dozen of Portuguese tarts, a red bean paste "cake," matcha bun with red bean filling (barely any beans but had an interesting mochi filling), and a coconut bread "loaf." I would've bought more but I could foresee the sugar rush... Sign up for VIP membership for free with any purchases made, and you get 10% discount when you show your card. Perhaps it's because of the colourful display from the moment you step inside, or the seemingly endless list of flavours on the wall staring back at you, or maybe it's because the moment you swing open the door, a friendly storeowner readily appears at your service? Hm... what will I have today? Pro tip: as the store owner would tell you, wait a few min for the ice cream sandwich to thaw before biting in. About 5 min is good and enough time to take Yelp pics. The only unfortunate thing for me is that they're downtown and I'm uptown! Regardless, I always make an effort to drop by whenever I can. Their opening hours are not too friendly though... But I guess you can say that adds to their appeal. This little shop could really use more publicity. I believe we have to get more people eating macaron ice cream sandwiches this summer. I highly recommend!!!

This patisserie in the path is such a quiet place that barely has customers every time I've walked by ...now I know why. There was only one person when I stopped by, popped in to grab a quick little treat for a coworker's birthday. The one girl working didn't acknowledge me at all until she had no other choice, not a simple "I'll be with you in a second" or even a glance/nod over. Vibes were very off. Also she was the slowest mover I've ever seen, it felt like all her movements were in slow-mo from wrapping, packaging the processing payment. I've literally never seen a human worker move at that pace. Even after the other customer wrapped up and left it took her at least another minute before looking up at me. When I picked my item, again... she was moving at a pace where natural selection would've definitely taken her out. Not sure what was going on but it was weird. The air was stiff as there wasn't any customer service, kindness or even welcoming in the store. And the audacity of the machine to ask for a tip???? For what? Packing up a pastry at a snails pace? Tipping culture has really gotten out of hand. Grabbed my item and left, with no intent of ever returning if I'm paying premium prices for pastries, there are much better, friendlier and QUICKER places to go to. +1 star for the pretty pastry.
